Hello and welcome! We’re excited to kick things off and hope to grow this into a bi-weekly Indonesian language conversation meetup open to everyone, no matter your experience level. Whether you're a native speaker, just starting out, or simply curious about the Indonesian language and culture, this is a welcoming space to learn, practice, and connect with others. I've scheduled this as a two hour event that you can join at any time as long as you have RSVPed to 'Attend' before the event starts (let me know if you're joining us late). Bird & Butterfly Walk on The East River

Birds, butterflies and bugs! Enjoy a scenic walk on the new Greenway Walk on the east side of Manhattan. Enjoy Nature! We will be looking for gulls, terns, cormorants, and bald eagles as we walk along the new Greenway. We will also be looking for butterflies, bugs and mushrooms. Bronx Tennis @ Seton Park, Every Saturday Year 'Round

I have renewed our Saturday Year 'Round listing. We play every Saturday year 'round as long as it is at least 34 degrees and the courts are dry. This is a competitive tennis group requiring a certified rating of at least 3.0. We do not accept beginners. Saturday sessions are limited to eight (8) players plus a ninth designated reserve player, and we will have a waiting list. Check the "comments" section for the starting time each week, which will either be 11 AM in colder weather, or 10 AM as the weather heats up. Bring your tennis permit, a new can of balls and a positive attitude. Every member in good standing is invited as long as you register by midnight of the prior day, you are fully vaxxed, and you rate at least 3.0.

Urban Athletics: Pedals & Pizza – Manhattan

During this cycling series we'll explore New York City one neighborhood—and one slice—at a time. Each ride takes us to a different borough or neighborhood in search of the best pizza, hidden gems, neighborhood institutions, and legendary slice shops. Every event is a new route, new flavors, and a new excuse to ride. Our first ride kicks things off in Manhattan. We'll cruise through some of Manhattan's most iconic neighborhoods, stopping at several pizzerias to sample slices, compare notes, and answer the question that has divided New Yorkers for decades: Who really makes the best pizza in the city? Spoiler: We probably won't agree. That's why this is a series. **The Ride** * Approximately 20 miles * 4 or so pizza stops * Relaxed, social pace with frequent breaks * Plenty of opportunities for photos (of the city and the pizza) **Tentative Pizzerias** * L’industrie * Scarr's Pizza) * Mama's Too! * Patsy's (Route and stops may change depending on group size, weather, and wait times.) **Cost** Everyone pays for their own slices and drinks. The goal isn't to eat an entire pizza at every stop—it's to sample a variety. Pace yourself... this is a marathon, not a mozzarella sprint. **Bring** * A bike in good working condition * Helmet (strongly encouraged) * Water bottle * Bike lock * Cash or card for pizza * An appetite and a sense of adventure **Who should join?** Anyone comfortable riding in NYC traffic at a relaxed pace. This isn't a race—nobody gets dropped unless they secretly stop for a slice without telling the group. Whether you're a cyclist who loves pizza or a pizza lover willing to pedal for your next slice, this meetup is all about good food, great company, and exploring the city from the best seat possible—a bike. Come hungry. Ride happy. And remember... **Calories consumed while biking between pizzerias are scientifically impossible to count!**

Stonewall Senders - an LGBTQ+ monthly climbing meetup group

Please arrive around 630pm and come to the front desk, make sure you sign a waiver beforehand! First time climbers will need a brief orientation, this is run by the Goat staff (they're super friendly!) After that come find us, we'll be on the ground floor in the bouldering area! Comfy clothes and a water bottle are a smart move, and if you have your own climbing gear feel free to bring it with you! Beyond New York - Exploring the Hoboken Waterfront

***UPDATE:*** *This event has been rescheduled from its original June 27, 2026 date.* For the very first time, NYC Shutterbugs is venturing outside the borders. In this meetup, we shall be exploring the Hoboken Waterfront in New Jersey. This scenic, 1-mile linear park along the Hudson River is known for its clear, unobstructed, panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline, and luch green spaces like Pier A Park and Pier C Park, as well as the statue of Frank Sinatra. We will meet at the World Trade Center PATH Station at 10:00 AM. Our goal is to catch the 10:15 AM PATH train from to Hoboken (a 10 minute ride). If you are gonna be late, please inform us in the group chat and **we'll wait until no later than 10:30 am before we depart.** From Hoboken, we will make our way along the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway and walking up to Pier A and Pier C parks, reaching Sinatra Park (where the statue resides) before heading back. Randalls Island Full Moon and Picnic Ride

Full Moon Ride! 7:00-10:45pm Wednesday, July 29 will be a full moon. Want to ride with Brompton friends to Randalls Island and enjoy a moonlit picnic? This is a chill ride with equal emphasis on riding, socializing and enjoying the NYC evening sky. *This ride is for Brompton bicycles only.* **Meeting/Departure** We'll meet at the southeast corner of Queensbridge Park and depart punctually after 15 minutes of socializing. (Note: We need to depart on time due to timing with the sunset). Then we'll bike up to Astoria Park and cross the RFK bridge to Randall’s Island. **Sunset** We'll stop to enjoy the sunset from Astoria Park and from the RFK Bridge. **Full Moon** We'll spread our blankets at the southern tip of Randalls Island and watch the moon rise and city lights in all their splendor. **Picnic** Please bring your own beverage, picnic blanket, and snacks to share. **Return** Feel free to depart earlier, but we'll exit the island as a group around 10:45, crossing the 103rd Street Bridge to Manhattan. We'll bike down the East River and end the ride at the Manhattan side of the Queensboro Bridge. (There are path closings on the East River, so we will need to bike on 2nd Avenue for parts of this.) Rainy, drizzly or very cloudy weather will cancel this ride. **Please maintain your RSVP** If you can't attend, please update your RSVP so someone from the waiting list can have your spot. Fireworks At Coney Island

PLEASE NOTE: The date of this Meetup has been changed due to to a rather nasty weather forecast making the likelihood of the fireworks being cancelled a strong possibility. **Friday, July 24th,** **We will meet at the base of the Parachute Jump at 7:30 PM** *Subway: F, Q, R, N trains to Coney Island Stillwell Avenue.* Coney Island has fireworks on the beach every Friday during the summer. It's the perfect place to shoot some long exposures or practice sunset and low-light evening photography. So get ready for some sunset photography. After the sun goes down, we can shoot long exposures of the rides and attractions in anticipation of the main event: the fireworks! The fireworks start at 9:45 PM. Luna Park recommends that the main area of the amusement park is one of the best places to watch the sky light up above the rides. The boardwalk or the beach itself are also great viewpoints. Those who aren't interested in the fireworks can continue shooting long exposures of the rides. Tripods would be useful at this Meetup, but owners need to be mindful of the amusement park rules, and careful of other people when using them. Otherwise, all cameras, cell phones and picture-taking devices of all sorts are welcome, as are all persons at any skill level. Just come and enjoy an evening at the seaside. Please be on time! The NYC Subway System is a hellscape of unimaginable delays that will wreak havoc on your mind, body, schedule, and soul.
