Bring it! 🙌 Get Sh\*t Done NYC is a friendly community of people who show up and actually finish things together: side projects, writing, job applications, business ideas, school work, that inbox from 2024. 😅 HOW IT WORKS 1\. Show up and settle in with your laptop $or notebook$ and your unfinished project\. 2\. Quick intros: say what you're working on and one goal for the session\. 3\. Phones away\. We work in focused rounds with short breaks to check in\, cheer each other on\, and swap tips\. 4\. Pizza break 🍕 5\. We close by sharing what we got done\! 🎉 COST: Free to join, with a suggested donation of $15 (cash or Venmo at the door) to help keep the space going. We are going to Caven Point natural reserve, between Port Liberty and Liberty State Park. Please note: There is no public transport available. But for those arriving by car there is parking. Parking is free and so is the entrance to the park. Caven Point is an ecologically unique area; habitat for many species including migrating birds. It features sandy beach, saltwater marshland, and boardwalk trail. it is one of two wetlands in NYC to have survived in its natural state. It is an important site for native birds nesting as it is positioned right on the Hudson River Estuary, serving as a critical late-fall pitstop and overwintering ground. Waterfowl usually spotted in November is the brant, mallard, horned grebe, and peregrine falcon among others. Bring waterproof boots and telephoto lenses.

We will rotate locations around the borough and meet up every month for a presentation, discussion, hands on activity, or just time to talk shop. If you are not an expert, do not fret! It is about showing up, sharing what you are working on, and meeting other people making things with their hands in the Bronx. Beginners and pros are welcome. **Let’s go to a a 2 to 3 miles Phone Photo Walk to Governors Island for the Jazz Age Lawn Party Autumn edition! We will be at the free grassy Area by the Stage and enjoy the 1920s music from the Dreamland Orchestra and watch the dancers dressed like Gatsby Area. Group meets at Governors Island Side ( not Manhattan Side) at 11am to use bathrooms close to the Ferry Dock. Ferry is free on Saturday before 11am. Bring snacks and water, use supportive shoes to walk on grass, dirt trails and uneven steps. Leader will use a pink cap. This will be a Social gathering and we plan to picnic and practice some fun photo skills. Led by the library's creator and maintainer, this talk introduces [Xarray-Spatial](https://github.com/xarray-contrib/xarray-spatial), an open-source Python library for scalable raster analysis with CPU and GPU acceleration. I have renewed our Saturday Year 'Round listing. We play every Saturday year 'round as long as it is at least 34 degrees and the courts are dry. This is a competitive tennis group requiring a certified rating of at least 3.0. We do not accept beginners. Saturday sessions are limited to eight (8) players plus a ninth designated reserve player, and we will have a waiting list. Check the "comments" section for the starting time each week, which will either be 11 AM in colder weather, or 10 AM as the weather heats up. Bring your tennis permit, a new can of balls and a positive attitude. Every member in good standing is invited as long as you register by midnight of the prior day, you are fully vaxxed, and you rate at least 3.0.
