From The West Side Knitting Collective
5.0

Join the West Side Knitting Collective as we soft launch Summer with a **knitting picnic in Central Park** on **Saturday, June 6th** **at 2pm.** We are taking our WIPs outdoors for an afternoon of knitting, sunshine (hopefully), snacks, and good conversation. Our group will be meeting at **Variety Coffee Roasters on the UWS and then walking over to the park together**. **Bring a blanket, your current project and anything you’d like to snack or sip on** while we settle into one of the park’s best people-watching spots to knit the afternoon away. In the off chance that rain is in the forecast, we’ll move to a nearby indoor backup location.

Come bring your broken items in need of some TLC to Hack Manhattan for this month's session of the Fixers' Collective. All are welcome, whether you have something to fix or just want to observe and watch. We encourage people to bring in their items early, so we can devote the most time to the item. Subsequently, if you arrive in the middle of a fix, we’ll try to accommodate you as best as we can. Pay what you wish for our handiwork!! *Fixers Collective is a social experiment in improvisational fixing and aggressive asset recovery. Their goal is to increase material literacy in our community by fostering an ethic of creative caring toward the objects in our lives.* http://www.fixerscollective.org/about/

Columbia DSL Summer of Prototyping Immersive Experiences

Columbia DSL Summer of Prototyping Immersive Experiences

Mon, Jun 8, 11:00 PM
From Columbia Digital Storytelling Lab
4.7

Join Columbia DSL for a summer of making, testing, and imagining together. This meetup opens the door to the Dead Internet Museum, a growing collective project that will become a 10,000-square-foot installation at MAD Arts this fall. We’re inviting artists, students, designers, technologists, storytellers, and curious people of all kinds to step into the process early. Come meet new collaborators, try things before they are finished, share ideas, build small experiments, and help shape the world of the project as it comes to life. No special background is needed. Just bring your curiosity, your point of view, and a willingness to make something strange with others.
