Woodworking Workshop

-please read the whole updated description!- Come to work on your own projects and get some feedback from your fellow woodchucks. We have a planer, drill presses, hand tools, a table saw, and much more! ###################### **starting June 8 we will be taking a break from the intensive power tool trainings provided in previous sessions.** For the next few weeks we want to use wood night as a time for actively working on projects and designing ideas for your projects. Happy to help with some guided use of the tools, but for now no full training will be offered. If you are new to the woodshop you are still welcome to join, just know that we will not provide a full training on the tools. If you have significant experience using a Tablesaw, mitre saw, planer etc then this should not be an issue. We do have some scrap wood available, but bringing some wood for your project, especially if it is larger or more crafty, is highly encouraged. We recommend getting your wood at Lowe’s (cheaper) Discount builders supply (closer to NB) or Beronio (higher quality and carry lots of hardwoods). Please feel free to ask questions on the discord if you are unsure about what to get for your project.

Online Spanish Bilingual SF Toastmasters Weekly Meeting

During the Shelter in Place, we will be celebrating meetings through Zoom. You can submit your request to attend here or on our website. Join us every Thursday for this unique Toastmasters meeting in two languages! Every meeting is two meetings in one: an English segment, followed by a Spanish segment. Each segment is approximately 30-45 minutes, or 90 minutes total, adjourning promptly at 8:00pm. Join us for an evening dedicated to breathing new life into pieces you love, whether that means using our tools to repair your pieces, trading items you've outgrown, or donating to support our community. We'll supply the know-how, the tools and libations for a fun-filled evening of up-cycling. Offered monthly at our studio in Berkeley. Please note that not all pieces can be repaired. The Improv Dojo is a place to do improv. It is a chance to play, explore and develop. We explore scene work, theater games and related acting exercises. It is part drop-in class and part practice session. The Improv Dojo is for improvisors ready to explore . Beginning and experienced improvisors welcome. Dojo attendees include Pan troupe members, Dojo regulars and people brand new to improv. Whether you're a beginner looking to try improv for the first time or a more seasoned player looking for a chance to play - the Improv Dojo is for you. Space is limited to 12.** In this 3-day workshop, you will experience the art of crafting a blade from scratch using minimal power tools and equipment that can be easily acquired or made at home. We take an accessible approach to the craft, proving that you don't need a crutch of big, expensive tools to create a high-quality blade. This class is the perfect first taste of your metalworking journey, providing a foundational education that you can take in whatever direction you choose. Together, we will heat up steel, hammer it into shape, and refine it using hand tools. You will fashion a custom handle and craft a leather sheath for your new blade.
