Alteration Basics @ Ace

Learn practical clothing alteration techniques you can use to improve the fit of garments you already own or are working on. In this class, Jasmine will go over hemming, darts, panels, and other common ways to alter the shape and fit of clothing. This is a great class for anyone who wants to build confidence with basic garment adjustments, better understand how clothing is constructed, or learn approachable ways to make pieces fit more comfortably. Come to Britex Fabrics, meet other sewists, sewcialize, and shop! Snacks will also be provided by Britex. All attendees will get 20% off regularly priced fabrics, excluding lace, leather, Liberty, and specialty fabrics. This San Francisco institution has been a sewing destination since 1952. You'll find fabrics from all over the world. We'll get an overview of their fabrics and Britex staff will be on hand to answer questions. You are welcome to submit questions when you RSVP. Feel free to wear something you made. DVD Swap at Dolores Park

It's a picnic at the park, but with physical media! Come with DVDs you'd like to share with others and leave with new movies to watch at home. Bring DVDs you may have laying around that you think others would enjoy. Don't really have DVDs? Stop by your neighborhood used book store or thrift store and pick up a movie you recommend. After the event, I will donate leftover DVDs to the SF Public Library. The event will be pretty casual: chat about the DVD you brought, trade DVDs to find something new to watch, and enjoy an afternoon at the park with other movie lovers. I'll bring some blankets, snacks, and utensils, but would appreciate others bringing more as well! In terms of location, I'll find a spot on the day of and will comment with a photo when I've set up. Keep an eye out for a Nicole Kidman flag to mark the spot and see you \*outside of\* the movies! Note: If there are DVDs that you are interested in showing to others, but not swapping, **you are responsible for keeping track of your items**.
