It's that time of year again! Join us for the 9th annual **Blues, Brews & BBQ** celebration of world-class Blues musicians, local craft beverages, and smoking BBQ vendors in Washington Park! Chow down at the food court which hosts BBQ trucks. Head to the beer garden for craft brews wines, spirits, and non-alcohol options, too! Our group will try to snag a central spot on the grass and I'll post where we'll be located in the event chat on the day of. Just One Cookbook: Essential Japanese Recipes

In September, we'll cook from Namiko Chen's Just One Cookbook. We’ll be meeting at Donna and Jon's home in Noe Valley. Please bring at least one recipe’s worth of food, prepared for 6 to 8 people. **Post your recipe in the comments before Wednesday, September 16, to keep your spot at the table. You'll be moved to "Not Going" if you don't post. You'll receive the address on Wednesday if you do post your dish.As always, no shows and cancellations will get you removed from the group. Please let us know of any allergens in your dish beforehand and substitute if possible.** --- With 33 recipes, this cookbook includes the classic chawanmushi, gyudon, and tamagoyaki, as well as modern favorites like California rolls and green tea ice cream. 2026 CA Coastal Cleanup & Oakland Creek to Bay Day at Middle Harbor

Greetings Friends of Middle Harbor! Come celebrate the 50th anniversary of the CA Coastal Act! Tend to our beautiful San Francisco Bay on [CA Coastal Cleanup Day](https://www.coastal.ca.gov/publiced/ccd/ccd.html#map), also known as [Oakland Creek to Bay Day, ](https://oakland-volunteer-community-oakgis.hub.arcgis.com/pages/oakland-creek-to-bay-day)at Middle Harbor Shoreline Park. When you clean up trash along Oakland’s streets and shoreline, you help keep our city and watersheds free of trash – from your local creek watershed to the San Francisco Bay estuary to the Pacific Ocean. Bring your crew! There will be morning snacks and lunch\* for volunteers provided by the Port of Oakland as a thank you. **How to find us:** Meet at Check-in Table down by Beach Steps. Follow signs. Blues Brews & BBQ Festival

Barefoot Lake Merritt loop - 1st Sundays at 8:30 am

We meet weekly Rain or Shine! 3.1 miles around Lake Merritt. No runner left behind. Very barefootable surfaces. If you can run 3 miles in shoes then you can probably do this barefoot. Runners in shoes and sandals are welcome too. We gather at 8:30 AM and start our run around 8:40 AM. If people are into it we'll go to have a coffee afterwards at nearby Lakeview Cafe. Meet us there even if you miss the run!

Prime Rib Dinner @ Fermentation Lab

It's back to the Fermentation Lab in J-Town, this time for dinner and it's Prime Rib Wednesday. That's right! I *heard* they served this and was wildly curious. Then a friend said she knew someone who recently ate it AND she had pics! I was like "What?", She was like, "Yeah". I was like "Girl". She was like "*Yeah*". We were like "YEAH". Kind of like HOPR, This is a hearty meal with Wedge salad, Prime Rib with 2 vegetables (spinach, potatoes), corn muffin, **BUT** also with dessert of the day and all for **$65** (plus tax, tip, mandate of course). **Standard Etiquette for meetup RSVPing:** Before RSVPing check your schedule, if you are sure you can attend, will manage your attendance, and will check comments and DMs for updates-this includes WAITLIST attendees **THEN** RSVP. Bay Area recumbent cyclist monthly Ride. (Berkeley to Point Richmond) Pace: 12-14 mph when pedaling on flat ground. Slower when climbing. distances: 25.5 miles Please Arrive by 9:45 AM, Wheels rolling at 10 AM. Meet at Brickyard Cove on the west side of highway 80 and University Ave. in Berkeley CA, There is ample parking available as well as pubic bathrooms. Route Description: From Brickyard Cove parking lot in Berkley the route follows the San Francisco Bay trail all the way to point Richmond, i there is a bathroom stop halfway at the Craneway Pavilion (the old Ford assembly plant), . From Craneway, the SF Bay Trail uses roads to connect with Point Richmond and the turn-around point at Kaleidoscope Coffee. Generally spend about 20-30 minutes at Kaleidoscope Coffee or Café Roma before heading back via the Dornan Tunnel and the bike trails at Miller-Knox and Brickyard Cove. Route is known for its scenic views of bay, marinas, waterfronts and birdlife. Hey Fam, We our throwing our 3rd annual appreciation BBQ for You, the members that have supported us and helped us grow this wonderful community of great people.. Lets get out and have some fun together with the whole family, not just the hikers, so bring the kids, the friends and the family. The event will be at Miller Kox park in Point Richmond. We will be providing the Meat, water and snacks, but encourage you to bring a dish or beverage of your choice to share with the group and make this a potluck style party. We will also bring music and games. There will be plenty of activities for kids and adults alike. It is usually around 67 degrees so dress accordingly. Please bring the good Vibes, good energy and attitude that we are famous for. Besides Snacks and beverages, you can also bring games. You may also want to bring an extra chair or two to sit on as bench space may be limited.
