Improv Jam Session | Beginner-Friendly Game Day

Improv Jam Session | Beginner-Friendly Game Day

Sun, Jun 14, 9:00 PM
From Have Fun Make Friends SF
4.9

Join us for a fun day of improv games! This is a free, beginner-friendly jam session (not a formal class). It will be our third time getting together and we’ll have 2 fabulous co-hosts. We also have some ideas how to make it a little less chaotic (thanks, Andrew!) As always, nobody is forced to participate but highly encouraged to jump in and play. **What to expect:** * Improv - short for improvisational theater - is a form of live performance where characters, dialogue, and scenes are created in the moment. * We’ll have a mix of warm-up games, learn about character development, physical comedy, and storytelling. * Depending on audience participation, we’re planning about an 1.5-2 hour session. **Where and when:** * Sunday, June 14th - meeting at 2:00pm, games start at 2:15pm. * William McKinley Monument in NoPa: https://maps.app.goo.gl/gSDmnZA9md6r5orU9 * We’re planning to use the space in front of the monument as our “stage”. If you’re still reading (whoo whoo), here is a Wiki rabbit hole about improv: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Improvisational_theatre Come play some games with us!

Pigeon First Aid & Companion Animal Care **Sunday\, June 14th \| 11am–2pm** Meet at the Powell Street BART Station, San Francisco Ever wanted to be a hero to pigeons and their animal neighbors—all in one afternoon? Join us for a hands-on day of compassion, learning, and real impact in the heart of SF. San Francisco’s pigeons often suffer from painful injuries caused by string, hair, and other debris tightly wrapped around their toes. These tiny hazards can lead to serious infections and even amputations. Together, we’ll gently rescue injured pigeons, remove the harmful materials, provide basic first aid, and release them safely back to their flocks. While we’re out on the streets, we’ll also be sharing food and toys for companion animals belonging to our unhoused neighbors—because care and kindness should extend to all animals, big and small. No experience necessary! We’ll provide all the training and supplies you’ll need. Just bring: Compassion Comfortable shoes A willingness to help animals who are often overlooked ARRIVE ON TIME! We’ll begin promptly at 11am with a brief about essential safety and training. If you arrive late, we will be out and about and hard to contact and find so please be on time. Please join us this week as we continue work at the amazing, scenic, (and windy) Grandview Park! We've made great progress with restoring swaths of the hillside for native plants and we look forward to reclaiming even more territory. \*\*[Here ](https://www.foundsf.org/index.php?title=Grandview_Park)\*\*is a fascinating local San Francisco history article about this week's location: Grandview Park. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Pacific while helping preserve this dune plant community. **Meet at the stairs on Noriega Street near 748 Noriega St.** **Please register with SF Rec and Park**[ here](https://sfrpd.my.salesforce-sites.com/SFRPDCalendar) if you are not yet a regular Wednesday CNPS volunteer. SF Rec & Park will provide gloves and tools (or bring your own if you prefer). Wear long pants and closed toed shoes. Bring water, a hat, sunscreen. Questions?
