Cheap Activities San Francisco

Cheaper Than Therapy, Stand-up Comedy, Shelton Theater, Union Square, SF

**Let’s spend an hour laughing together at a stand-up comedy show in San Francisco! 😂** The name already says it all — **[Cheaper Than Therapy!](https://cttcomedy.com)** The show takes place at the historic **Shelton Theater**, right in the heart of Union Square in San Francisco. It’s easy to get to, with plenty of parking options nearby. The lineup changes every time: usually **2–3 new comedians**, a couple of familiar faces, and the show always closes with its producer, **Scott Simpson — and he is always hilarious!** I suggest we meet **15 minutes before the show at the bar**, grab a drink, and get to know each other before it starts. 🎟️ It’s better to buy your ticket in advance, but you can usually get one at the door as well. I’m making this a **regular Meetup event**, although I won’t always be able to attend myself. When you arrive, just tell them you’re with the **Meetup group**, and they’ll seat you together. See you there — and let’s laugh! 😄 The show ends by 9:30pm. . Please check the FAQ [here](https://cttcomedy.com/) and to buy tickets go https://tickets.cttcomedy.com/events/?_gl=1\*16aiq5e\*_gcl_au\*MjAzMjE0NzI5NC4xNzg5MDczNDc2\*_ga\*MTE4MDMzOTY4NS4xNzg5MDczNDc2\*_ga_DDS6TRE8CK\*czE3OTA0NjUyNzEkbzMkZzAkdDE3OTA0NjUyNzEkajYwJGwwJGgw Hope see you there!

Tabling for the COMPACT Act at UC Berkeley

We have a historic opportunity to bring real change to the tens of thousands of dogs and cats being experimented on in laboratories across the United States. Congress has just introduced the COMPACT Act (Companion Animal Protection Against Cruel Testing Act) to end federal support for dog and cat experiments. It would even re-home many of the animals currently living in laboratory cages. However, there is not much time to get this passed before the end of the year. We need to make our voices heard so our government knows that their constituents want this bill to be prioritized. Join us in outreaching students at UC Berkeley to help them contact their congressional representatives. **WHEN:** Tuesday, 10/27 from 11 am - 2 pm **WHERE:** Sproul Plaza, UC Berkeley — Direct Action Everywhere (DxE) is a grassroots network of animal rights activists. Through open rescue, demonstration, and disruption, we help build a world where every animal is safe, happy and free. DxE cultivates a welcoming and supportive community. Protest Merck's Puppy Torture

Merck is one of the greatest culprits in the animal testing industry. They are actively subjecting dogs to horrific experiments. In the past, they have induced beagles with rabies, killed them to extract their organs, and pumped them full of experimental drugs. Please join us for this nonviolent demonstration. **WHEN:** Friday, October 13 at 3:00 pm **WHERE:** Merck Research Laboratories: 213 E Grand Ave., South San Francisco, CA 94080. Parking is sparse so please allow time to get a spot if driving. **WHO:** Everyone is welcome! \-\-\- Direct Action Everywhere (DxE) is a grassroots network of animal rights activists. Come Play Gaga (Dodgeball variation) - or just hangout @ Alameda Gaga Court

Gaga is a fast-paced, low-impact version of dodgeball played in an enclosed pit. It's easy to learn, quick to play, and a great way to meet people. **Never played or even heard of the game before? No problem!** Most people pick it up in just a game or two, and we'll explain the rules when you arrive. **No experience, athletic ability, or prior knowledge required!** Just come ready to have fun! The location of the court on Alameda island is here: [https://maps.app.goo.gl/VeqmD6oz6AbAksYB8 ](https://maps.app.goo.gl/VeqmD6oz6AbAksYB8) The rules of Gaga are super simple and as follows: * *All players start with one hand touching a wall of the pit.* * *The game begins with a referee throwing the ball into the center of the pit.* * *Once the ball is in play, any player can hit the ball with an open or closed hand.* * *If a ball touches a player below the knee (even if the player hits himself or herself) they are out and they leave the pit. If a player is hit above the knees, they are still in.* * *Players cannot hold or throw the ball* We will go over the rules when we start so no need to memorize these! **Not sure if you want to play? Come anyway!** Whether you want to jump into every game, give it a try and see how it goes, or hang out on the sidelines and socialize, you're absolutely welcome. There's no pressure to play, and you don't need to know anyone beforehand. The goal is to have fun and meet people! If you have any other games like spike ball, cornhole, or soccer or volleyballs, please feel free to bring them as well! Depending on the number of attendees, we can set up additional activities on the side for people to play in between rounds of gaga
