This is a coffee meetup for creative people to share/talk about their current projects. Whether it's writing, a website, art, starting a business, knitting/crafts or anything at all creative (be creative with the descriptor 'creative'), come along and share your progress with other like-minded people. This cafe requires a credit card for booking so I'm just going to show up and grab a table. I'll be waiting out the front of Caffe Greco at 1pm.

We have seven simple rules in place to protect our community and for everyone to have a positive experience. ❌ **Not a dating group!** – We’re here to make friends, not find soulmates. No flirty business, please! 📵 **No phone numbers**, please! – Feel free to swap social media if both parties are cool with it, but let’s keep our digits private. Please **don’t add people to WhatsApp or other groups**. 🔞 Our events are only **open to people aged 18 and older**. 📢 Please **do not advertise other events or groups**. 😅 **Don’t be a social octopus!** – Give people space to chat with others. Please don't be clingy. 🚗 We **don't allow carpooling** due to safety incidents/our public liability insurance not covering motor related accidents. 💰 **No sales pitches!** – No selling, no MLMs, no pyramid schemes, no “life-changing mentorship” offers—let’s keep things scam-free. By joining this event, you’re giving us a virtual pinky promise 🤝 that you’ll follow the rules. Break them, and—poof!—you’re out for good. No second chances, no do-overs. Let’s keep it fun, friendly, and drama-free! **Liability Waiver:** The organizer of this group cannot accept any liability for any loss, damage, injury, or accident to participants or their property at this event. By participating in this event, you're taking responsibility for your safety and well-being. By joining this event, you agree to the liability waiver mentioned here: [https://exploremelbourne.au/explore-melbourne-liability-waiver/](https://exploremelbourne.au/explore-melbourne-liability-waiver/)

The Singles Merri‑Creek Mischief Walk & Northcote High‑Street Frolic - 12km

The Singles Merri‑Creek Mischief Walk & Northcote High‑Street Frolic - 12km

Sat, Aug 1, 3:30 AM
From Eat, Drink and Dance Melbourne
4.5

**🌿✨ Eat Drink Dance Melbourne:** **The Merri‑Creek Mischief Walk & Northcote High‑Street Frolic via the Ceres Community Farm and Cafe** Abbotsford Convent → CERES → Northcote → Rushall Station Saturday Afternoon • ~12 km of flirtation, exploration & playful chaos Meet at 1.30pm at the Collingwood children's farm entrance 50m down the road from the convent entrance. Please arrive by 1.15pm. We don't wait if you're late. You'll have to catch up. Come earlier if you want a snack at the convent **💘 The Vibe** A Saturday designed for singles who enjoy playful banter, scenic wandering, and a little urban mischief. This is a slow‑dating adventure: gentle flirtation, organic café warmth, creekside charm, and a High‑Street bar hop that feels like a choose‑your‑own‑romantic‑subplot. Be aware that these walks incorporate a fair bit of randomness and serendipitous energy. ***Please note: This event is waitlisted.*** ***I want a balanced gender mix, i.e even numbers of girls and guys. I have a creep code operating and event expectations around no shows, read on for how that works.*** **Singles only**. Couples allowed only if they’re brand‑new (the “we’re still pretending to be chill” stage). Married folks: this one isn’t your chapter. **🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️ The Route (A Flirt‑Trail in Three Acts**) **Act I — The Convent Spark** We gather at the Abbotsford Convent, where the architecture is dramatic and the pre‑walk mingling is deliciously awkward in all the right ways. Come early e.g 12.30 to grab a coffee and snack Then we slip onto the Merri Creek Trail, following its leafy curves — the kind of path that naturally encourages side‑by‑side conversation and gentle curiosity. **Act II — CERES: Organic Chemistry (Literally)** We arrive at CERES Community Farm, a pocket of earthy charm and wholesome vibes. Break at the CERES Organic Café for warm food, warm hands, and warmer conversations. This is the midpoint where people relax, open up, and start deciding who they want to walk next to for the second half. People can also join us at Ceres cafe if they want to skip the Merri creek walk and then do the Northcote high street bar hop. please let the organiser know before hand. **Act III — Northcote High‑Street Frolic** From CERES, we wander into Northcote, where the vibe shifts from earthy to artsy. A playful High‑Street bar hop + boutique exploration begins: - A cosy wine bar for soft‑spoken flirtation - A craft‑beer spot for louder laughter - A few quirky shops for spontaneous “try this on” moments - A record store where someone inevitably mentions their favourite band We finish by strolling back to Rushall Station, winding down the day with the mellow, satisfied energy that only comes from shared adventure. **🧣 What to Bring** - Comfortable walking shoes - Snacks + water - Winter layers - A playful, open attitude - Curiosity for strangers who might not stay strangers ⚠️ **Group Rules & Event Etiquette ⚠️** These are basic, commonsense standards that keep events safe, smooth, and enjoyable for everyone. 💘 **Flirtation Guidelines** This is a social event, not a pressure cooker.Don’t be pushy about phone numbers — let the moment offer itself Don't send unsolicited messages, get in person permission first If the vibe is mutual, go for it Become a regular — I’ll be testing this format over 3–4 events You’ll likely see the same lovely humans again at future singles nights/events or Eat Drink Dance “open” events The goal is to build a small, recurring ecosystem where people feel comfortable, familiar, and relaxed enough to be themselves. 👟 **Fitness Requirements** **Walking**: 3–4 km/hr. Moderate fitness. enough to walk 15 km with limited stops We walk at a relaxed pace. Please ensure you meet the fitness level for the event. If the group is forced to wait excessively, you may be asked to leave the event. ⛹️ **Pace: Too Fast or Too Slow** **Small** social events rely on staying together. If you prefer a very different pace, consider going solo, joining a faster/slower group, or choosing events that match your fitness. 👩‍💼 **Time Constraints** **If** you’re on a tight schedule, this may not be the right event. Social activities rarely run exactly on time. **👥Waitlist & Gender Ratios** **To** keep things balanced and comfortable: Event capped at 12 people to test interest, if my star signs are in favour I may increase this to 20 Generally guys admitted only after a woman registers (to maintain ratios) at my discretion. **Female Privilege: New Idea** There is usually a waitlist of men. The first female that discretely messages the organiser gets first dibs on any guy that is on the waitlist to have him included. Assuming this occurs within 12 hours of being put into the going list. Otherwise the organiser chooses. Women can be a little flaky (we love them anyway), so I may accept 1–2 extra **🧭The Creep Code** **A** refined social compass keeps the vibe safe, fun, and drama‑free. So: No married/Seperated individuals or those already coupled up (generally) No Tinder Swindler‑style minglers **Guys**: Please Take Special Note Must have a clear face photo (no sunglasses, no blurry shadows, no “mysterious man in witness protection”) Don't send unsolicited messages, that's creep gold.. ⚠️Don't obscure your identity in other words. No wide shots taken from a distance where you can't be identified. No yacht/car/jet flexing — if your profile screams “crypto‑adjacent”, you will be gently declined. If you are declined, update your profile photo to something less creepy and more classy **Girls**: No restrictions — privacy and safety first” ⚠️ **CRITICAL EXPECTATIONS ⚠️** 👻 **No‑Shows** No‑shows block waitlisted people from attending and disrupt small-group events. ***Remove yourself at least 24 hours before the event, cancellations within 24 hour of the evevt when there is a waitlist will result in group removal People on the waitlist need more than 24 hours notice that they have been approved to attend.. Flaking within this time period prevents waitlist people from attending No‑shows will be removed and blocked from the group. *Last‑minute cancellations (“flaking”) may also result in group removal, especially when there is a waitlist. 👀 **Attending Without Being on the Going List** This is a security issue. Do NOT turn up unannounced. If you’re not on the Going list and haven’t arranged it with the organiser beforehand, you will be asked to leave. Event check‑ins are performed. **⏰ Late Arrivals** If you’re late, the group will not wait. You willl be marked as a No‑Show and removed from the group. Messages will not be monitored after the event starts *It’s your responsibility to communicate and catch up before the evevt starts—this may not be possible for some events. 🎲 **Second Chances** **If something goes w**rong, communicate with the organiser. Silence + poor behaviour = removal. Communication + accountability = second chances. As the organiser is busy organising this may be impossible during the event. **🚩Disclaimer**: No **Liability & Organiser Indemnity** **By** participating in this event, you acknowledge and accept full personal responsibility for your own safety, wellbeing, and belongings. The organiser assumes no liability for injury, loss, or damage incurred during the activity. Participation is entirely at your own risk.
