We hope you enjoy yourself. We are a social, friendly group that meets to play games. Language and behavior that is racist, sexist, ableist, ageist, and so on, is not tolerated. Bullying and bad-mouthing hosts or guests is also not tolerated. We're not here to debate politics, and we are not a dating service. Obviously gaming can sometimes include trash talking. Just … know if your opponents are up for that! And look, we all make mistakes -- if you’ve offended someone, an apology can go a long way.**

Hudson River Greenway Walk to Inwood Hill Jazz Festival

Hudson River Greenway Walk to Inwood Hill Jazz Festival

Sun, Sep 20, 1:45 PM
From Shorewalkers: Members Only Group
4.9

Join us for a special 6-mile walk along the Fort Washington Greenway from 145th Street to Inwood Hill Park. This is more than a walk — **we’ll be one of the first groups to try a proposed detour that Parks is considering for the Greenway.** In the next few years, the Fort Washington Greenway will undergo construction to address recurring sinkholes and the bridge over the Amtrak tracks. During this walk, we’ll check out a proposed route to keep us walking while construction is underway. Even better, **Jana LaSorte, Director of Northern Manhattan Parks, will join us** to walk the route, talk about the Greenway’s history and future, and answer our questions. We’ll walk, look at what works (and what doesn’t), and share ideas about how the route could be improved. **We’ll end at the free [Inwood Jazz Festival](http://www.inwoodjazzfestival.com/) in Inwood Hill Park from 1–5 p.m.** Bring a ground cloth to sit on and enjoy some great music. The route includes stairs and uneven terrain. If 6 miles is more than you want to do, you can drop out at Dyckman Street. **We are co-sponsoring the walk with Transportation Alternatives, and they would like us to also RSVP with them.** https://www.mobilize.us/transalt/event/1022531/ MEET: 9:45 a.m. at 145th & Riverside Drive, down the hill from the #1 train. Restrooms available along the route. BRING: water, snacks, lunch, and a towel to sit on at the Jazz fest. Co- leaders: Pam Cress pactoday@gmail.com, 917-597-2664. and Christine Summerson 646-491-0764 (day of walk only)
