Joy Ride to Valentino Pier - Welcome Back Janet!

Joy Ride to Valentino Pier - Welcome Back Janet!

Fri, Oct 23, 10:00 PM
From Brompton New York
4.9

Ride leader Janet Joy Wilson will be back in NYC in October! Let’s have a Brompton "Joy Ride" from Lower Manhattan to Valentino Pier in Red Hook to enjoy the night sky and reconnect with much-missed Janet! This is a 11-mile social ride at a slow pace, **for Brompton bicycles only**. **DETAILS** We’ll meet at the base of the Christopher Street Pier on the Hudson Greenway. We’ll depart at approximately 6:20PM after 20 minutes of socializing. At the meeting point there are restrooms for us to use. The route is on a paved, comfortable bike path, with little traffic. We'll cross the Brooklyn Bridge to Brooklyn and cruise along the waterfront towards our goal, enjoying spectacular views of the tip of Manhattan. At Valentino Pier, we will have a break to have some of Steve's Key Lime Pies - a New York classic and very fun. We'll hang out to socialize a bit before we go on the second, shorter part of the ride. This will lead us to into DUMBO, Brooklyn. We will have a small After Party with Janet on our rooftop terrace with the wonderful views off the Manhattan skyline to round off the glorious evening. **RIDE LEVEL:** Chill / Relaxed Pace: 16 kmh / 10 mph Distance: 11-12 miles Everyone is welcome, no one will be left behind. **WHAT TO BRING** * Since we will be riding back in the dark, lights are required * Please ensure your tires are inflated and your bike is in good working order * Spare inner tube in case of flats - everyone should bring this **PLEASE MAINTAIN YOUR RSVP!** If you can’t attend, please update your RSVP so someone from the waiting list can have your spot. Riders with a history of “no shows” may be removed from the ride in favor of others on the waiting list. **Happy Riding!** \* \* \* \* \* \* \* \* \* \* \* \* \* \* \* \* Our Community Rules: 1. Whether you want to fight unspeakable horrors in Arkham or build railroads across America or rebuild your farm after the black plague (more fun than it sounds) you can probably find a game you would like. Some games you might see are 7 Wonders, Settlers of Catan, Pandemic, Dominion, Dixit, Puerto Rico, Eldritch Horror, Ticket to Ride, Carcasonne among many others. You're also welcome to bring any game you want to play! I DON'T KNOW THESE GAMES? IS IT COOL IF I COME? We're very friendly and if you have no idea what the hell we're talking about just trust us when we say it's ton of fun. We'll have tons of games and we're very happy to show you the rules.
