Hi folks, this is the meetup group for the weekly Sunday Blood on the Clocktower games in the Soot bar in Manifesto at Potsdamer Platz. We run beginner-friendly and intermediate-level games throughout the afternoon and evening. **Friendly newcomers of all skill levels are welcome, no experience required!** Our group aims to provide a fun and welcoming space to experience this thrilling game of social deception. **We focus on promoting a positive and fun group atmosphere, where players don’t take themselves or the game too seriously, whether they’re heroically winning or spectacularly losing.** Our players follow the code of conduct for the Berlin Board Gamers group and are expected to treat each other with respect and consideration – “killing with grace, and dying with dignity”. We are usually able to offer two simultaneous games on Sundays. If you are marked as "attending" in Meetup and are in your seat at 15:00, your place is guaranteed for as long as you want to stay. All other seats are first come, first served. We always run at least one beginner-friendly game of the basic version of Clocktower ("Trouble Brewing") throughout the afternoon and evening. We also usually have enough players for a second intermediate-level game. If you are already very familiar with Clocktower, consider also joining our Tuesday meetup for advanced players, when we play with complex custom scripts and characters. Blood on the Clocktower is a deep, mechanical game of murder and mystery, lies and logic, deduction and deception… think Werewolf on steroids. Each player receives a unique secret role and plays either for the good team – the uninformed majority, gathering info and working with others to solve the puzzle – or the evil team, the informed minority, scheming to eliminate good players and protect their demon from execution. In our beginner games no prior experience is expected and we will gladly explain the game rules to any newcomers. We play in English so players should be able to understand and express themselves in English: an exception is possible for one pair of players willing to play together (as a “Revolutionary” pair) where one player can interpret into and out of English. This event is aimed at players who are already very familiar with Clocktower - if you have dozens of games under your belt and are excited to play custom scripts with other seasoned players, this is the event for you! #### **The waterworks tour !** #### **Guided bike tour of the water story of Belrin - with a exclusive access to the Ökowerk Nature Conservation Centre Pump Station.** **Time:** 16:00 - depending on start point **Theme:** Cycle Tour + Water Infrastructure + Industrial Heritage + Nature **Distance:** 13 km (with optional loop back to Berlin = 35km). Dear Bike and Hike Group As part of the Festival der Berliner Industriekultur I will be leading a cycle to the Okowerk Pumping station in Grunewald on the 18th September. This amazing old steam pumping station - the oldest \*in-situ steam engine in Berlin - will be opened up just for us and we will get the opportunity to see round one of the first modern water pumping facilities in the city. Beyond this we will visit the Drachenburg to look out over the Havel river and discuss the importance of water transport, purity and filtration in the story of Berlin's growth as a world city. Later we will look at the beautiful Wannsee Strandbad and talk about leisure and water in the Wagner's dream of the garden city in Berlin. **Borsig! – Berlin's Locomotive King by Bike** **Time:** 12:00 - Midday **Start:** Hamburger Bahnhof – Main Entrance **Distance:** 30 km **Suggested contribution:** €5 This week we'll be following the story of **August Borsig**, one of the men who helped turn Berlin into an industrial powerhouse—and the company that became Europe's largest locomotive manufacturer. We'll cycle across Berlin following Borsig's remarkable journey from a small factory outside the old city walls, through the industrial landscape of Moabit, to the enormous works in Tegel. Along the way we'll see how the requirements of heavy industry pushed factories further and further away from the city centre, and how each move created new industrial landscapes, transport connections and workers' housing. We'll finish at the magnificent **Borsigwerke in Tegel**, beneath the famous Borsigturm. **The Tour** We will follow the story of Borsig through **three generations of factories**. We'll begin near the former Borsig works on **Chausseestraße**, where August Borsig established his factory in 1837. Just four years later, the first Borsig locomotive left the works. The company rapidly expanded, becoming one of Europe's leading locomotive manufacturers. But there was a problem: the factory was becoming trapped inside a rapidly growing city. We'll cycle north and west towards **Moabit**, where Borsig began expanding in the 1840s. Here the company established an ironworks, boiler works and machine factory beside the Spree, taking advantage of the waterway and the growing railway network. By the middle of the nineteenth century, much of Borsig's production had moved here. This gives us the opportunity to explore one of the great stories of Berlin's industrial development: **why did factories leave the city centre?** We'll look at the relationship between industry, transport, land prices, workers and the waterways that allowed heavy materials to move around the city. Finally we'll continue north to **Tegel**, where Borsig built a completely new factory from the 1890s onwards. Production began here in 1898, on a huge site designed specifically for modern industrial production. The factory even had its own harbour for bringing in raw materials. Here we'll explore the surviving **Borsigtor, factory halls and Borsigturm**, the extraordinary 65-metre tower built in 1922–24 and Berlin's first office high-rise. We'll then finish by exploring **Borsigwalde**, the workers' settlement created alongside the new factory. Borsig needed thousands of workers, but there wasn't enough housing in Tegel, so the company helped create an entirely new neighbourhood. Its surviving streets provide a fascinating glimpse into the social side of industrialisation. We'll finish with a well-earned beer together in Tegel. I am an accredited tour guide in Berlin, specialising in telling stories about the city's industrial heritage. Just 10,000 steps and real conversation.** ## THE PROBLEM We spend more time talking to AI than talking with people about what we’re building with it. Think about your week. You’ve spent hours prompting, debugging, and shipping with AI. You may have had a longer conversation with a chatbot than with a friend. Your back is stiff. Your eyes are tired. And even while working on something genuinely exciting, it can feel strangely isolating. We built agents to save time. Then we filled the saved hours with more screen time. The AI community debates the future of work, intelligence, and human connection—often alone, hunched over a laptop. That’s the contradiction: a technology designed to empower us can easily leave us stationary and disconnected. ## THE SOLUTION Token Break changes the setting. No screens. No pitches. No decks. Just people walking through Berlin and talking about AI—face to face, in real time. We meet and walk 10,000 steps together. Along the way, we talk about what we’re building, what’s working, what isn’t, what excites us, and what worries us.
