Morning 5K & Coffee: Golden Gate Promenade (Presidio)

Join along for a scenic 5K run along the breathtaking Golden Gate Promenade! This run is for casual runners or anyone looking for a fun way to stay active. You'll get to enjoy beautiful ocean views as we run along the bay, with the beautiful Presidio on one side and the iconic Golden Gate Bridge on the other. We'll meet in front of the Crissy Field Center and wait for up to 15 minutes for any late arrivals. After the run (we'll finish where we started), we'll grab some coffee/pastries at the Starbucks inside the Presidio. (Lake Merritt Loop) East Bay Morning Walk + Coffee ☕🌳

No alarm stress, no gear required — just good company and a solid loop. We'll meet at near the lake Merritt "Fairland" Sign (see photo for meeting spot day of the event -- there will be parking around near by and bart is near by for those joining from a far. This will chill \~2–3 mile walk. The pace is easy — think catching up on life, not chasing a PR. After the loop we'll grab coffee (or breakfast burritos, we don't judge) at a café (Equator Coffees, right across from the lake next to the whole foods) nearby. Whether you show up solo or bring a friend, you'll fit right in. Our walks are just as fun with 5 people as with 25 — no awkward standing around, just moving and chatting. 🐕 Dog-friendly! 👟 Any fitness level welcome — walkers and joggers mix fine ⏱️ About 2–3 miles / 1.5 hours total including the coffee hang 🅿️ Free parking available right at the trailhead RSVP so we have a rough headcount — but walk-ups are always welcome!

**Friends** Please read carefully as there is new info here. This event meets 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month. **This week we are meeting at Espresso Roma Cafe in Berkeley. There are a few picnic tables on the side of the cafe that can accommodate about 24 people. When facing the cafe they are on the left side in the grassy area. We may meet there or at the long tables under the canopy depending upon availability. For new attendees we will have a balloon on the table to identify our group. We hope new people will become regulars to this social group, Do not attend if you are on the waitlist as this is causing the crowd to get too large. If you show up and are not on the going list you will be asked to leave or sit somewhere else. Three no shows will get you removed from the group so please change your RSVP if you cannot make it and give someone on the waitlist a chance to come. Please don’t do this at the last minute unless it’s an emergency. We will initially allow 10 members on the going list and then we will be adding people from the waitlist balancing out the event by gender. We will be posting the coffee meetups month by month to give more of the newcomers a chance to sign up and get a spot. Moving forward we will talk to the owners about providing enough chairs for the long tables and not just the smaller ones. Thanks to everyone in advance for your cooperation.**

Take Time to Write at Cafenated Coffee

Let's meet up to write on Sunday at the Cafenated Coffee Company in north Berkeley. Anyone who writes is welcome! We'll be inside of Cafenated, and I'll have a sign saying "East Bay Time to Write". We'll write in two 50-minute blocks, with breaks in between and after. Come find us between 10:00 and 10:30 to get set up in time for our first one at 10:30. Schedule: 10:00 - arrive, get drinks, chat 10:30 - first focused writing block 11:20 - break 11:30 - second writing block 12:20 - finish, optionally hang out About the location: There will be WiFi and some (limited) outlets. We'll be indoors, but they typically leaves the doors open so that the space is well-ventilated. The coffee shop offers coffee, tea, bottled drinks, and typically some pastries and cooked food. Please buy something to support them! About the group: Anyone who writes is welcome -- novelists, playwrights, academics, journalers. This isn't a critique group, and there's no pressure to share your work. We're here for camaraderie, moral support, and friendly peer pressure, so you can focus on taking time to do what you love to do.
