Our annual Montauk bike trip is on. We are going to bike the length of Long Island from Queensboro Plaza to the Montauk lighthouse in one day. A super fun 145 miles. We will bike along the south shore of Long Island stopping for coffee, brunch and beer along the way. This year we will have a few options for those not wanting to ride the entire length. We have the an 80 mile, 60 miles and 25 mile options. We will have two spots to meet for the rides in the city. If you are doing the 145 miles some people will meet at 4:30am in Long Island City or at Grand Army Plaza. **Meeting points and time for each ride length** **145 miles** 04h30 at Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn or Queensboro Plaza at LIC Map of the 145 mile option: https://maps.app.goo.gl/EddLsiNkyZinE5v78 **80 miles** LIRR from Grand Central that leaves at 07h39 and arrives in Patchogue at 09h17. For Woodside, Penn Station, etc check the MTA website for the departure schedule at those stations. Map of the ride: https://maps.app.goo.gl/tyekzifVgFE3r2Q39 **60 miles** Meet at Westhampton at 12h30. There is a 09h53 train from Grand Central that arrives in Westhampton at noon. We will arrive around 12h30 by bike. You can either wait at one of the delis or hang out at the beach until we arrive. Map of the 60 mile ride https://maps.app.goo.gl/CKs6JCo8emRXAL7x7 **25 miles** Meet at Bridgehampton Wölffer Estate Wine Stand at 15h00. Take the 12h05 train from Grand Central (check MTA schedule for other stations) and arrive in Bridgehampton at 14h46. Ride to Wölffer Estate Wine Stand. Average pace will be **13mph** but we might not stick together as people will be going at different paces over the 140 miles and some people might get tired and end up taking the train to Montauk if it gets too late. We will stay overnight In Montauk. You can arrange your own accommodations or share a room with the group. I will most likely book a few rooms. I will collect the money for the hotel end of September. I will post a WhatsApp chat for the group the week of this trip. **The Plan** Saturday: 04h30 Leave from Queensboro Plaza in LIC or Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn 09h30 Arrive at Toast Coffee and Kitchen in Patchogue 10h30 Leave Toast Coffee and Kitchen 12h30 Arrive in Westhampton 15h00 Arrive at Wolfer Estate Wine Stand in Bridgehampton 16h00 Leave Wölffer Estate Wine Stand at the Mountauk Lighthouse 18h00 Arrive at the Montauk Lighthouse 18h30 Leave Lighthouse 19h00 Arrive at the hotel 20h30 Dinner 22h00 Pub hangout and dance party Sunday: 12h00 Take LiRR back from Montauk to the city **The route** Here is the link to the route on Strava: https://www.strava.com/routes/2968652085855489014 **Accomodations** I will book accommodations closer to the date. We will stay at a motel in Montauk. Haven't picked one yet. I estimate to be about $100 to share a spot but it depends on the hotel rates in Montauk when I book the room. Again you can book your own if you want.

Let's meet up for one of the final drinks events outdoors. Baylander will probably close sometime in October for the season so let's get one last sunset on the Baylander! Everyone is welcome to come! I know there will be one other group that night. I had originally drafted this and had a date set but wasn't going to post it until our drinks this week but alas we both had the same idea of going to the Baylander one last time. Sunset is at 6:40 hence why I am starting this meetup at 6:30. Bring a warm coat in case it is chilly at night. This is an outdoor bar. Rain moves this event to the Expat nearby. Everyone is welcome to come whether you are new to the meetup or not! Let's chat about past and future outdoorsy trips!

Yes, I'm cheap AF. That's why I've done the 5 Boro Bike Tour exactly once. Paying more than a Benjamin to ride a bicycle around New York leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth and an even worse feeling in my wallet. I could spend that money on something useful—like 47 slices of pizza. So why pay to ride when you can ride for **FREE**? Come join me for the annual Tour de Bronx, the largest **FREE** organized cycling event in New York State. That's right: zero dollars. Nada. Zip. The price is so low even your inner cheapskate will be impressed. **What's the story?** We've come a long way from Da Bronx of the 1970s. Back then, a tour of the borough might have involved abandoned buildings, burned-out cars, and making eye contact with absolutely nobody. Today, you get 6,000 of your closest strangers, all on bicycles, cruising through historic districts, waterfronts, greenways, parks, and some surprisingly beautiful neighborhoods. And nobody is asking you for money. There are two main routes: 25 miles for those who enjoy cycling but still have other things to do that day, and 40 miles for those of us who apparently have something to prove. Naturally, I'm doing the 40. The route takes us through the south, east, and central Bronx, including Mott Haven, Clason Point along the East River, and Pelham Bay Park, the largest park in New York City, with nearly 3,000 acres of forests, trails, and enough greenery to make you briefly forget you're still in New York. We'll also hit City Island and Orchard Beach along the way. And just when your legs are starting to wonder why you thought this was a good idea, we roll into the New York Botanical Garden for a post-ride music festival. Oh, and there’s free stuff too. **The important stuff!** • It's **FREE**, but don't get too excited and just show up. You **MUST** register in advance to participate. Do that **[HERE](https://www.eventbrite.com/e/tour-de-bronx-2026-tickets-1994692075694)**. • You can choose the 25-mile or 40-mile route. I'm doing the 40 because apparently I make poor decisions. • Bringing your kids? There's also a 10-mile family route, so you can introduce the next generation to the joys of cycling without immediately traumatizing them. **How Do I Get There?** This one is ridiculously easy by mass transit. Take the 4 or D train to 161st Street/Yankee Stadium, or Metro-North to 153rd Street/Yankee Stadium. So grab your bike, bring your appetite, and come burn a bunch of calories with me. It's the Bronx. It's 40 miles. It's free. And there is free stuff at the end. Honestly, what more could a cheap bastard ask for?
