**Bicycle NSW Spring Cycle - Sunday October 11, 2026** Come along in Bike Leichhardt jerseys (or not) to ride 50 klms over the Harbour bridge along a dedicated route to Sydney Olympic Park. There is also a 10 klm route too. For full details - go to their website to find out more and register for the ride. Do it soon to get the early bird discount. https://www.springcycle.com.au/home Note there is a cost payable to Spring Cycle to attend. Its a great opportunity to enjoy a route open only once per year and to show the public as well as local, state and federal govts that cycling is a mass participation activity (and thus deserving a better share of roads and transport funding). Those who want to can meet at the start at St Leonards Park to ride as a group. Easiest way to get there is get the Metro to Victoria Cross and exit the station at the northern end then walk up the hill to St Leonards park near North Sydney Oval. We can enjoy coffee and lunch after the ride at Sydney Olympic Park. Its a great way to promote our club and to encourage more of the public to enjoy cycling. Bring family and friends too. Go to the website now, https://www.springcycle.com.au/home to register and pay for your participation.

Meeting at "Kals on Cahill" cafe and parkland (just down from Wolli Creek Station, at 2 Princess Highway, Wolli Creek) at 8.45am for 9.00am start, for a moderate ride via many shared paths and a few quiet streets, past delightful water bay view scenery, as well as a 'spin' (6.5km) along Captain Cook Drive bicycle lane out to Kurnell peninsular (riders must be comfortable with some passing traffic on this stretch). There may be a little 'hop, skip and a jump' through a park around some reparation work near Lady Robinson Beach. Mostly flat, although there's a little climb up to Cape Solander at Kurnell for beautiful views and maybe even some passing whales! We'll pause and re-group at times for photo stops (as it would be a crime not to!), to smell the roses, for a coffee and for some historic spots at Kurnell. The ride will return via Cronulla Station for access to trains back towards the city etc, approx. 40kms. Ride Leader: Your ride leader is Marlene Shepherd - on-ride mobile is 0419 013120. WHAT YOU'LL NEED FOR THIS RIDE: Your Opal card, a bike in good mechanical order, helmet, water bottle, sunscreen, spare inner tube(s) in case of puncture + snack for the journey. WEATHER: Ride will be cancelled if there is significant rain on the morning of the ride. Check meetup notifications. Call ride leader if unsure. Please do not attend if you are sick or have any flu-like symptoms. Riders must be 2026 financial members ($10 annual fee) unless first time ride. Check meet-up for any changes.

Meetup is a platform that helps people connect with local communities and attend events based around shared interests. Users can join groups, participate in events, and meet others with similar passions.

You can search Meetup for cycling groups in Sydney by selecting the 'Cycling' category and setting your location to Sydney. This will display various groups and events you can join based on your cycling interests.

Yes, you can join multiple cycling groups on Meetup. This allows you to explore different types of cycling activities, such as road cycling or mountain biking, and connect with a diverse range of cyclists.

Most cycling events will require you to bring your own bike, but you should always check the specific event details. Some groups may also have rental options available or suggest local rental shops.

Yes, Meetup offers a user-friendly mobile app that allows you to browse events, join groups, RSVP, and keep up with your Meetup activities easily from your smartphone.

To organize a cycling event, you need to be an organizer of a Meetup group. You can then create an event, set the details, and invite members of your group to join and participate in the ride.
