Cycle & dine - Seehof Rheinsberg

Sat, Aug 1, 6:15 AM
From Berlin Cycling
4.9

**ATTENTION: This is one of the highlights each year! A 2 days-tour with a Dinner on SAT. While there is no need to stay overnight, joining the Dinner is part of the tour.** https://www.meetup.com/berlin-cycling/events/315749152 https://www.meetup.com/berlin-cycling/events/315749315 Please check your accommodation yourself (in case you need some, the camp ground is just a few km away)! ========== FACTS ========== ROUTE: Neustrelitz > Useriner See > Giesenschlagsee > Rheinsberg LEVEL: Intermediate to Experienced DISTANCE: 50ish kms MEETING POINT: 08:15 - Berlin Südkreuz ========== FACTS ========== ========= DETAILS ========= **IMPORTANT:** This is a 2-day tour and the idea is to cycle out there, have a delicious Dinner and cycle back TOGETHER! So please check your accomodation (or tent) before you confirm. The restaurant does offer vegetarian options but maybe no vegan (please check yourself if you prefer that). **ROUTE:** This is the yearly visit to one of the best restaurants in Brandenburg, the Seehof Rheinsberg, [www.seehof-rheinsberg.de](http://www.seehof-rheinsberg.de/) A place certainly not to be missed! Due to the ongoing fire in the Müritz nature reserve it was not clear if we could pass the originally planned route. So we will start in Neustrelitz this time and cycle "downhill", ar least mapwise.! Cycling on a relaxed route right after 10 km is the first option for a swim in the Useriner See. After that it is mainly quiet, peaceful and green (aka forrest paths). Passing the Fleether Mühle 18 km later there is a chance for a coffee and after 2 more km a last chance for a swim in the crystal clear Giesenschlagsee. From there we head the remaining 17km straight to the restaurant where we're awaited for a most delicious dinner at the Seehof Rheinsberg at around 18:00. All in all this is planned to be a relaxed tour but being there at Dinner time requires to not forget time at all. **SPEED:** Leisurely around 14 km/h, at least if the wind doesn't come from the front. This is like "Being able to see the details on the side of the road and enjoying the view in general… and have a chat." **DISTANCE AND TERRAIN:** This is an about 50ish km ride, with mainly solid but also some forrest or soft ground. In general: Bikes with thin tyres (Race bikes, Road bikes, Fixies), rented bikes (Uber, Swapfiets) or any special bikes (Folding bikes, BMX etc.) are not suitable! You won't have fun, trust me! And if you want to bring Kids or Animals please get in touch before! **MEETING POINT:** 08:15 - Berlin Südkreuz, platform 4 for RE5 to Rostock I have a blue Villiger Trekking bike. **TICKET:** From Berlin to Neustrelotz it is 30,- EUR regular. I'd buy a Berlin-Brandenburg-Ticket (36,50) and invite the first 4 people who get in touch to join me on that ticket. Please bring cash! All others: please feel free to organise your own Ticket/BBT. And don't forget a Bike ticket. **WAY OUT:** 08:34 - dep. Berlin Südkreuz, RE 5, platform 4 09:59 - arr. Neustrelitz Feel free to hop in at any other station (I'd highly recommend not to try Gesundbrunnen, except you're short of coffee and need some extra excitment in the morning). **WAY BACK:** In case you really want to go back ;-) 20:50 - dep. Rheinsberg 22:18 - arr. Berlin Lichtenberg **RECOMMENDATIONS:** Check the train schedule in the morning! The DB loves to stir up the plans by changing trains on short notice! If anything happens the Meeting point is the starting point of the cycling. Communication is taking place in the WA channel. Join here: https://hub.keinezeitfuerarbeit.de/join-community While we'll stop somewhere for a snack and/or coffee please always bring some drinks along! And, PLEASE make sure your bike is in a proper state! Check your tyre pressure and oil the chain! Does your light work? Having a toolset is highly recommended and a spare inner tube to fix a flat tyre a big plus! While we might be able to help in some circumstances please think about what happens if we can't! Thank you! Bringing special equipment (Helmet, safety vest etc.) is NOT required but welcome if you feel more safe using it. Last but not least: In case you need special medical treatment please make me aware of that upfront. Even if everyone is responsible for themselves I'd like to be able to handle it if necessary. ========= DETAILS =========

We'll cycle through the districts of Kreuzberg, Tiergarten, Moabit, Charlottenburg and Mitte, discovering power stations, research institutes, engineering landmarks, beautiful public buildings and some of Berlin's finest examples of industrial architecture. We'll finish with a beer together by the water. ## The Tour We will follow, more or less, the **"Innovation und Eleganz"** Industrial Heritage Cycle Route, beginning at the Deutsches Technikmuseum before making our way through some of Berlin's former industrial neighbourhoods. We'll visit the pioneering **Kraftwerk Moabit**, the famous **AEG Turbine Factory** designed by Peter Behrens, admire the elegant buildings of **Charlottenburg**. We'll also pass the famous **KPM Porcelain Manufactory**. We'll finish with a well-earned beer together beside the Spree. I am an accredited tour guide in Berlin, specialising in telling stories about the city's industrial heritage. I ask for a contribution of **€10** to help organise the tour and share my knowledge. **Disclaimer:** Please note that all participants attend as group members, not as customers, and are responsible for their own safety. Please read the group description in full for an explanation of the terms and liabilities. ## The Cycling This is a gentle-paced sightseeing ride rather than a sporting event. 🚲 We'll cover around **25 kilometres**, with plenty of stops for stories, photographs and discussion. Anyone with a reasonable bicycle and experience cycling around Berlin should be comfortable on this route. ## What to Bring 🚲 Spare inner tube suitable for your bike 💶 Cash for drinks or snacks 🌧️ Waterproofs (just in case!) ☀️ Suncream 🥪 Water and snacks 😊 Curiosity and a sense of adventure ## Highlights ⚡ Discover how Berlin became one of the world's great centres of science, engineering and innovation 🏭 Visit the legendary AEG Turbine Factory, often described as the birthplace of modern industrial architecture 🔬 Learn how Berlin's scientists, engineers and inventors transformed everyday life around the globe 🏛️ Explore the beautiful campuses of Berlin's pioneering research institutions and universities 💡 See the pioneering Kraftwerk Moabit and discover how electricity changed the modern city 🚰 Hear the remarkable story of Berlin's revolutionary sewer and sanitation system, which became a model for cities worldwide 🏺 Visit the Royal Porcelain Manufactory (KPM) and discover why Berlin porcelain became famous across Europe 🚲 Ride through elegant boulevards, hidden industrial streets and historic waterways linking Berlin's scientific and industrial past 📸 Fantastic photography opportunities combining industrial heritage with some of Berlin's finest architecture 🍺 Finish with a relaxed drink beside the Spree. I estimate the ride will take around **three hours**, including plenty of stops. It should make for a fun Saturday afternoon exploring one of Berlin's most beautiful industrial heritage routes. Hope to see you there! **Simon**

Moon & Lunations: Feeling through cycles, signs, and change

Moon & Lunations: Feeling through cycles, signs, and change

Mon, Aug 3, 4:30 PM
From Berlin Astrology
4.8

The Moon speaks to our emotional world, instincts, memories, needs, and sense of belonging. Moving quickly through the zodiac and constantly changing shape, it reminds us that our inner life is rhythmic, responsive, and never entirely still. How does the Moon express itself through each sign? What can the lunar cycle teach us about beginnings, culmination, release, and renewal? And how might New Moons, Full Moons, and eclipses reflect important moments of transition in our lives? In this gathering, we’ll explore the symbolism of the Moon as one of astrology’s two luminaries, its expression through the twelve zodiac signs, and the meaning of lunations and eclipses. Whether you want to understand your own Moon placement more deeply or become more familiar with lunar cycles, this is a space for reflection, learning, and shared inquiry. Together we’ll: * Explore the Moon’s symbolism and its connection to emotions, instincts, memory, care, home, and belonging. * Look at how the Moon expresses itself through each zodiac sign. * Learn about the lunar cycle and the meanings of New Moons, Full Moons, and the phases in between. * Discuss eclipses and their significance within astrology. * Reflect on how lunar themes may appear in our birth charts and personal experiences. * Share insights in a welcoming, curious, and supportive group. This meetup is a space for curiosity, reflection, and meaningful conversation — whether you’re deeply into astrology or just beginning to explore it. Bring your birth chart and, if possible, charts from friends and/or partners to explore the many ways the Moon expresses itself. 🌙✨ **Guidelines**: – Start: 18:30 sharp (arrive earlier if you like) – Please stay on the topic of astrology – Respect, warmth, and honesty are essential – Kindly RSVP in advance, as we need to confirm with the venue -Please pay for your beverages or food as you order them. PS: We'll be in the terrace of the 2nd floor bar of Motel One. If you can't find us there, go straight to the Terrasse on the 9th floor. Warm regards, Maca, Sara, Tay, and Eric *We collect a 5€ cash contribution on site to support the platform costs.*
