Narrabeen Lagoon & Garigal NP walk

This walk starts by circumnavigating Narrabeen Lagoon to the Junction of Deep Creek. We will head into Garigal NP following Deep Creek along shaded tracks (pictured above). After crossing a ridge line, we will drop down into a picturesque creek for lunch by a waterfall. After lunch we follow the creek downstream under cool overhanging rock formations, passing cascades and small waterfalls until it joins up with Deep Creek. From here we head back to Narrabeen Lagoon to continue our circumnavigation of the Lagoon back to Narrabeen shops. B1 buses leave regularly back to Wynyard Station. Start Location: 9:00am Narrabeen B-Line Bus Station Transport: 8:05am B1 Bus from Wynyard Park Stand B to Berry Reserve, Pittwater Rd, Narrabeen (arrives 8:44am) Distance: 18.4Km Terrain: Sealed Road, Bush Track and Fire Trail WHAT TO BRING. **Let's go camping** 🏕 Bonnie Vale campground is nestled by the Hacking River, located between Bundeena and Maianbar at the north end of Royal National Park. This popular riverside campground is known for its large sand spit, which makes it a great swimming spot. We can explore nearby walking tracks, take a dip, or just enjoy the water views. Unpowered, can accommodate 12 people, if we have less than 12, it's going to cost more. Check in 2pm. Check out 10am.

Catamaran sailing Lake Macquarie (camping caravan park)

Enjoy pretty Lake Macquarie (2 hours from Sydney) while zipping along on our catamarans and getting a good introduction to sailing. More exciting than being on a yacht ! We have 18-foot, 16-foot and 14-foot catamarans. No experience is required. Come for either the weekend or a day (we recommend coming for the weekend). We can hire but you must have your own sleeping bag. * Can you swim (we wear lifejackets but cannot take non-swimmers) * Are you reasonably agile ? We don’t need super athletes, but you are sitting on a flat deck (not a seat) and you need to be able to move 3 metres to the other side of the boat at reasonable speed. A simple test is whether you can lie flat on a carpet and stand up within 4 seconds without using furniture. * We cannot take people weighing more than 95 kg (even if agile). COST: Sailing fee $70 (weekend); $40 (day), camping $26, lift $15, tent hire $10. You need your own sleeping bag. This is a group event and requires people to be on time to assist in rigging boats. If coming Saturday, arrive by 10:00 am ready for the outdoors. If coming for the day only be prepared to stay until 6pm. For Sunday, be prepared to arrive by 9am and stay until 5pm. Camping is at a caravan park with facilities. We are a long-established sailing group run by the YHA. We hold sailing weekends every 4 weeks. NO SAILING EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY. Catamaran sailing is a fun and exciting way to experience the water, as the boats zip along in the wind. The boats are easy to sail and offer a good opportunity for anyone who wants to learn or experience sailing by getting some practice on either handling the jib, trapezing (hanging out the side of the boat on a harness) or skippering. We are not a "racing" group, we just like to be on the water and away from Sydney for a weekend, taking it easy.

**We will start at Otford Train Station (meet outside the station on the east side) at 9.30am (train leaves Central at 8.29am from Platform 25 and arrives at Otford at 9.28am).** **From here we will climb a steep hill and cross Lady Wakehurst Drive to arrive at the start of the walking track (if you are driving, there is a car park here, but keep in mind you will need to catch a train back and climb up the hill).** **We will walk along The Cliff Track and stop at Werrong Lookout for a break and then through Palm Jungle along the Coastal Track on the way down to Burning Palms Beach.** **From here we will walk along the rocky coast to Figure 8 Pools where we will have lunch.** **We will return via Burning Palms Beach and the uphill track to Garrawarra Farm Cark Park, which can be quite challenging for some.** **From here we follow the Burgh Track and Hacking River, cross Lake Wakehurst Drive and make our way to Helensburg Train Station.** **We will aim to return to Helensburg Train Station by 3.23pm (when train leaves for Central).** **If we miss the train we can go visit the glow worm cave which is close by.** **\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*** **DISTANCE: About 15 km.** **GRADE: Medium most of the way with one significant climb to Garrawarra Car Park.** **NOTE: There are no get out points. Monday Social Bootcamp Fitness Session

Welcome to Sydney's greatest social bootcamp! We are a large group of young professionals that love working out with friends on Mondays and Wednesdays. Most of our members tell us they found their best friends in Sydney thanks to us, and we hope you do too. You're guranteed to be personally introduced to 20-30 young professionals upon arrival. Our group is a huge network of people built up over many years (we're the first social bootcamp) and our members join us for regular social and big parties. To keep it fair, the rule is if you RSVP in the first 20 spots, but later change your RSVP to "not going" (at any time), there's a $20 fee. Location: (see map) Elizabeth St foopath near Museum Station bus stand C Bootcamp meeting location, where the park's footpath meets Elizabeth St next to Museum bus stand "C". From the ANZAC monument walk 75 meters straight down the footpath to Elizabeth St. This is also close to the statue of bullets (Aboriginal War memorial). It's also 75 meters from Museum Station (corner of Elizabeth St & Liverpool St) but there are some blue construction fences between the meeting point and Museum Station. Please make sure you update your RSVP for each session (you can do this on the Meetup app). It's helpful to check who is going to each session. If you're a newbie, keep an eye out for the "Regulars". These guys and girls come to bootcamp consistently and give 100% effort at each session. They are also people you're most likely to see again and become friends. We currently have 20 Regulars, growing each month. Arrival: Please arrive at 6:20pm. Check in with an organiser, say hi to old friends and new. If you're not free, please have a $5 note. Unlike other Meetup groups, we are pedantic about keeping our attendance list accurate. That's why it's important you RSVP. Please have a Meetup photo that clearly shows what you look like. This helps the instructors and other bootcampers to remember you. FAQs How much does Bootcamp cost? FREE for the first 20 RSVPs in each session - see above. To qualify for the free list, you must arrive by 6:25pm (and introduce yourself to all the newbies if you've been to more than 6 bootcamps and aren't a newbie yourself--this doesn't apply to newbies but ensures that all newbies are introduced to lots of the regulars). What should I bring? As little as possible as there are no lockers or storage unfortunately. Bring what you can carry while you run. How fit do I need to be? You should be above average fitness, with no health conditions or injuries. Our workouts are highly organised and vary from week to week but as a test, you should be able to do: 60 second plank, 20 sit ups, 20 squats, 20 pushups (on the knees for girls) and 20 jumping jacks. You should also be able to jog for at least 3km without stopping. How many people attend? On average, about 20-30 or so people come each week. We prioritise members that have fun, work hard and make friends. How do I find you? Look for a group of people dressed to exercise at our meeting spot. During bootcamp, if you do not feel well enough to exercise or have an injury, you should let someone know and leave the session immediately. Exercise with your head as much as your body. The Sydney Gelato Circuit - Milson’s Point to Leichhardt!

**It's getting hot, it's that time of the year! Gelato time!** **We will stop at a minimum of 4 gelaterias, among the best Sydney has to offer.** **If you love gelato, this is the walk for you! Not only do you get to have as much as you want, but you get to use up the calories by walking them off.** **We will start at Milson’s Point at 9.30am.** **From here we will walk across the Harbour Bridge and around the coastline to Barangaroo, where we find our first stop, Rivarino Gelateria (I will think there is something drastically wrong with you if you don’t try and like their gelato).** **There is also an alternative near-by, Anita's Gelateria.** **From here we will head to the Fish Markets for Cow and the Moon Gelateria where we will stop for a 30 minute lunch. Coast, History and Lookouts! Little Manly, Sydney’s Q Station and North Head.

**Most of us have done the Taronga Zoo to Manly Walk or some version of it, right? How about a walk just as good, but different?** **We will meet at Circular Quay Wharf 3 in time to catch the 9.30am ferry. If you prefer to go straight to Manly, please be outside Max Brenner at Manly Wharf no later than 10am (ferry arrives at 9.52am). Please be on time.** **From here we will walk along the coast to Little Manly Cove and then make our way to North Head in the Sydney Harbour National Park.** **Part of this walk is along a 6-foot stone wall built to segregate the military area (no longer under military control) from the rest of the peninsula. This can get muddy so wear appropriate shoes.** **Then we will make our way to Sydney’s Q Station where people were quarantined. We will visit the Third Class Precinct, Hospital Precinct and Wharf Precinct where we will have a break and visit the small museum (there is a beach here for those that want to take a dip).** **We will then climb 250 steps to reach the Former First Class Precinct and wonder around before heading out.** **Although there are no guarantees, there is very little chance of being infected by anything serious (so they told me).** **From here, we will head to the North Fort Precinct along the Sanctuary Loop, a walking track that points out all the wildflowers along the way, and we will do the Fairfax Walk where we will spend time at the Burragula and Yiningma Lookouts, with glorious views of South Head and the city skyline. MEETING: Circular Quay Wharf 2 🌸✈️🌸 TIME: 10:00 for the 10:15 ferry to Watsons Bay 🌸⏰🌸 DETAILS: This is one of the best walks in Sydney, with glorious harbour and/or beach views the entire way. Watsons Bay-Diamond Bay-Bondi Beach-Tamarama, Clovelly, Gordon’s Bay, Coogee Beach with several spots to enjoy a beverage at the finish 🌸⛱🌸 LUNCH: Bondi Beach 🌸🍽🌸 COST:💲5️⃣ cash gratuity or (donation)for this walk.💵 🌸💲🌸 DISTANCE: 1️⃣4️⃣kms 🌸🦋🌸 THIS WALK IS GRADED AS: Spectacular, and hopefully the odd 🐳 🌸☀️🌸 GET OUT POINTS: the entire way 🌸🚦🌸 TRANSPORT: Ferry to Watsons Bay, return Bus to the City 🌸✈️🌸 GENERAL HOUSEKEEPING: 🌸💃🌸 IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BRING A FRIEND PLEASE MESSAGE ME, unfortunately only the 2 legged kind, and not the 4 legged kind are included. 🌸🥰🌸 I am always open to suggestions if there is a destination/hike/walk you’d like to do…just message me 🌸 👣🌸 A heads up for newcomers and first timers. Our walking group is a fabulous Melting Pot of cultures, backgrounds, professions and life experiences. We love our Walks. We are INCLUSIVE OF EVERYONE………if you’re: kind, nice, fun, polite and respectful. 🌸😘🌸 On that note…. In recent times my walks are at capacity, which I’m capping at 40. Regulars, regardless of numbers are always welcome….just PM me if you’re on a waitlist. 🌸♥️🌸 We walk at a medium pace of 4kms per hour, stopping for breaks and to take in the views. It is a reasonable expectation that the group stays together. It is your responsibility to stay in line of sight. If you cannot walk at this pace, I will let you know of the next get out point. This is not negotiable. 🌸🐌🌸 As this is a walking group, bikes, ebikes, scooters, escooters, and pogo sticks are not compatible or welcome. 🌸👣🌸 Grading for my walks:
Easy: Mainly flat, suburban, loads of get out points, up to 14kms.
Easy-Medium: some stairs, a few uneven surfaces, up to 15kms.
Medium: Stairs, rocks, coastal beaches/sand, ups, downs, get out points limited, up to 17kms
Medium-Hard: uneven surfaces, need to take extreme care and be hike fit. Few get out points. Tracks, uneven surfaces, steep inclinations and limited resources. 🌸👯‍♀️🌸 WALKING GUIDELINES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 🌸✍️🌸 Carry sufficient food and water (2 litres) for the expected conditions of the walk. Pls don’t separate from the group, unless you let someone know, preferably me. The waitlist is completely discretionary….reliable regulars will ALWAYS be included. 🆗……….If you are a no show, you will not be welcome to join a future walk with me. (It’s a courtesy kind of thing). If people are on the waitlist, it is also very inconsiderate. Marking yourself as “Not Going” within 2 hours of departure does not allow reasonable time to notify anyone on the waitlist. 🌸🙅‍♀️🌸 On the odd occasion, the walk may change from the schedule, due to weather, unforeseen track obstacles OR emergency situations. 🌸🤞🌸 Please make sure your conversation is always courteous to other group members. 🌸😍🌸 PS….
