🌸🌸WHALES! WATSONS BAY TO COOGEE.🌸🌸

Thu, Jun 11, 12:05 AM
From Aussie Explorers
4.8

MEETING: Circular Quay Wharf 2 🌸✈️🌸 TIME: 10:05 🌸⏰🌸 DETAILS: Catching the 10:15 ferry to Watsons Bay, then taking the Coastal walk all the way to Coogee via Diamond Bay, Bondi Beach, Tamarama, Gordon’s Bay and Dolphin Bay 🌸⛱🌸 LUNCH: Bondi Beach… there are cafes, but always better to BYO 🌸🍽🌸 COST:💲5️⃣ cash gratuity or (donation)for this walk.💵 🌸💲🌸 DISTANCE: 1️⃣4️⃣kms 🌸🦋🌸 THIS WALK IS GRADED AS: 👀 looking for whales with many vantage points, and it’s easy. 🌸☀️🌸 GET OUT POINTS: the entire way 🌸🚦🌸 TRANSPORT: Ferry to Watsons Bay, bus from Coogee beach in all directions 🌸✈️🌸 GENERAL HOUSEKEEPING: 🌸💃🌸 IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BRING A FRIEND PLEASE MESSAGE ME, unfortunately only the 2 legged kind, and not the 4 legged kind are included. 🌸🥰🌸 I am always open to suggestions if there is a destination/hike/walk you’d like to do…just message me 🌸 👣🌸 A heads up for newcomers and first timers. Our walking group is a fabulous Melting Pot of cultures, backgrounds, professions and life experiences. We love our Walks. We are INCLUSIVE OF EVERYONE………if you’re: kind, nice, fun, polite and respectful. 🌸😘🌸 On that note…. In recent times my walks are at capacity, which I’m capping at 40. Regulars, regardless of numbers are always welcome….just PM me if you’re on a waitlist. 🌸♥️🌸 We walk at a medium pace of 4kms per hour, stopping for breaks and to take in the views. It is a reasonable expectation that the group stays together. It is your responsibility to stay in line of sight. If you cannot walk at this pace, I will let you know of the next get out point. This is not negotiable. 🌸🐌🌸 As this is a walking group, bikes, ebikes, scooters, escooters, and pogo sticks are not compatible or welcome. 🌸👣🌸 Grading for my walks:
Easy: Mainly flat, suburban, loads of get out points, up to 14kms.
Easy-Medium: some stairs, a few uneven surfaces, up to 15kms.
Medium: Stairs, rocks, coastal beaches/sand, ups, downs, get out points limited, up to 17kms
Medium-Hard: uneven surfaces, need to take extreme care and be hike fit. Few get out points. Tracks, uneven surfaces, steep inclinations and limited resources. 🌸👯‍♀️🌸 WALKING GUIDELINES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 🌸✍️🌸 Carry sufficient food and water (2 litres) for the expected conditions of the walk. Pls don’t separate from the group, unless you let someone know, preferably me. The waitlist is completely discretionary….reliable regulars will ALWAYS be included. 🆗……….If you are a no show, you will not be welcome to join a future walk with me. (It’s a courtesy kind of thing). If people are on the waitlist, it is also very inconsiderate. Marking yourself as “Not Going” within 2 hours of departure does not allow reasonable time to notify anyone on the waitlist. 🌸🙅‍♀️🌸 On the odd occasion, the walk may change from the schedule, due to weather, unforeseen track obstacles OR emergency situations. 🌸🤞🌸 Please make sure your conversation is always courteous to other group members. 🌸😍🌸 PS…. IF YOUR ID PIC IS OF A COFFEE CUP, YOUR DOG OR CAT, A VIEW, and not a picture of you…You’ll stay waitlisted. 🌸❌🌸 SAFETY WARNING: Please stay away from cliff edges and be very careful when walking on wet and slippery rocks and surfaces. Stay within sight of the group at all times. 🌸🔴🟢⚫️🟠🔵🟡🟣🟤🌸 DISCLAIMER: Your health and safety is our priority, we take care to minimize risk and avoid accidents and injuries. However, Organizers and Hosts are not responsible for your health and safety and do not accept any liability for accidents and injuries that may occur during Meetup activities and events. Please take responsibility for your own safety and belongings. By RSVP to this event you and your guests agree to comply with the terms and conditions of the Aussie Explorers Meetup group which can be found in the link below: https://www.meetup.com/Aussie-Explorers/pages/28346396/Terms_and_Conditions_of_joining_Aussie_Explorers 🌸☀️🌸 HAPPY WALKING 🍃🌸🌿🌸🌿🌸🍃 xxLisa

🎭 Anyone Up for a Musical(The Greatest Showman)?

🎭 Anyone Up for a Musical(The Greatest Showman)?

Wed, Jun 17, 9:00 AM
From Sydney Musical Mates 🎭

Hi everyone! I wanna watch musicals and often keep an eye on TodayTix for last-minute discounted tickets. Sometimes I want to go see a show but don’t have anyone to go with, so I thought I’d create this group for others in the same situation. The idea is simple: if a good deal pops up, we can get a small group together and enjoy a musical (COME ALIVE! The Greatest Showman) I’m currently planning to see a show " COME ALIVE! The Greatest Showman " on Wednesday, 17 June, if I can grab a ticket through TodayTix. If you’re interested in joining, feel free to come along! Most members will probably be in their 20s and 30s, but everyone is welcome. Whether you’re a huge musical theatre fan or just looking for a fun night out, I’d love to meet fellow musical lovers around Sydney.

From Sterling Fitness Hiking Adventures
4.9

Today's HIKEFit program explores parts of Castle Cove… Although it feels like a flat walk, there are some good ups and downs. You can complete 8 km or the full 11 km and get around 400m in elevation. We will start at the steps heading into Scotts Creek. After passing the creek, we find a management for about 500 metres. Then we are back into the bush heading to FigTree Cove via the North Arm walking track. Search specific keywords like 'canyoneering Sydney' on Meetup to find active groups and events dedicated to exploring Sydney's canyons.

Yes, Meetup offers groups focused on canyoneering where outdoor enthusiasts can gather, plan, and participate in canyon exploration activities.

Absolutely! You can join as many Meetup groups as you like, including those for different outdoor adventures or specific to canyoneering.

Simply click the 'RSVP' button on the event page after logging into your Meetup account to confirm your attendance.

Joining and browsing Meetup is free, though some events or groups may have participation fees as determined by the organizers.

Event cancellations or rescheduling due to weather are at the organizers' discretion; always check the event page for updates from the host.

Usually, you can bring friends, but it's best to check with the organizer for specific rules and RSVP for extra spots if needed.

Some Sydney canyoneering events are tailored for beginners, but skills required per event vary. Check descriptions or reach out to hosts to be sure.

Groups depend on user activity; while Sydney has active canyoneering communities, availability can fluctuate. Regularly check Meetup for updates.

Meetup does not handle event organization directly. Quality varies by organizer, so consider joining well-reviewed or trusted groups.

Both types exist, but canyoneering is usually in-person. Always check event details to confirm the format before attending.

Simply input your interest, such as 'hiking' or 'canyoneering,' into the Meetup search bar, along with your location, to find relevant groups.

Meetup is tailored for group events and activities rather than one-on-one meetups, focusing on building community through shared interests.

Flexibility depends on each group. If there’s no fit, you might suggest alternate dates or times to organizers, or explore other group options.
