Jannali to Sutherland via Burnum Burnum Sanctuary

This walk explores some of the great sights of the Sutherland Shire. Starting at Jannali station we will head over to Burnum Burnum Sanctuary via Eagle Rock Lookout. After a break, we will cross the Woronora Bridge for views of the Woronora River (pictured above). Finally we head over to Prince Edward Park where we will have lunch next to the Woronora River. (Bring your own lunch or you can purchase it from a takeaway shop on the way). After lunch we will head to Sutherland station via bush tracks and roads. Start Location: 10:00am Jannali Station Transport: 9:17am Cronulla via Wolli Creek from Town Hall Station, Platform 4 (9:20am Central Station Platform 25) to Jannali station arriving at 9:46am. Walk starts at 10:00am. Please don't assume that toilets will be open at the Jannali station. Distance: 13Km Terrain: Bush tracks, Management trails, Footpath WHAT TO BRING. Easy: Mainly flat, suburban, loads of get out points, up to 14kms.
Easy-Medium: some stairs, a few uneven surfaces, up to 15kms.
Medium: Stairs, rocks, coastal beaches/sand, ups, downs, get out points limited, up to 17kms
Medium-Hard: uneven surfaces, need to take extreme care and be hike fit. Few get out points. Tracks, uneven surfaces, steep inclinations and limited resources. 🌸👯‍♀️🌸 WALKING GUIDELINES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 🌸✍️🌸 Carry sufficient food and water (2 litres) for the expected conditions of the walk. Great North Walk Thornleigh to Chatswood 18km medium

Fabulous walk along the Great North Walk trail from Thornleigh Station to Chatswood Sation about 18km and a few small ups/downs but lovely bush trails ## Lane Cove National Park & The Great North Walk Sydney is incredibly fortunate to harbor a significant number of national parks right within its metropolitan boundaries. Among the most central is **Lane Cove National Park**, which begins less than 10 kilometers from the CBD as the crow flies. While surrounding suburban development has introduced some weed encroachment along the creeklines, the park beautifully preserves a wealth of original, pristine bushland across its ridges and valleys. For walkers looking to explore this pocket of wilderness, a prime section of the iconic **Great North Walk**—the massive track linking Sydney to Newcastle—cuts directly through the heart of the valley. This specific route follows the peaceful, non-tidal waters of the Lane Cove River, tracing the valley from the weir at Fullers Bridge all the way up to the northern watershed near Thornleigh. Weekend Sunset Bushwalk - Wollstonecraft to North Sydney ~11 km

**Join us for a scenic Sunset bushwalk exploring Gore Creek, Coal Loader, and Blues Point.** This moderately paced 2-hour hike offers stunning views with a mix of bushland, parks, and streets. **It has** **many inclines,** and **a good fitness level is essential to walk 4.5 km/h for 2+ hours**. **Here's what you need to know:** * **Start time:** 4:00 PM sharp, please arrive by 3:55 PM. Finish around 6:30 PM. * **Meeting point:** Wollstonecraft Station Park, outside Platform 2. * **Route:** Our walk starts with a bushwalk through Gore Creek, then heads to Berry Island for a quick stop to take in the views. We'll continue through bush trails towards the Coal Loader, passing Oyster Cove, then follow the Balls Head track before finishing at North Sydney Station (near Metro) via Waverton Park and Lavender Bay. Those staying for dinner, we'll visit the Greenwood Plaza hotel for dinner! * **What to bring:** Comfortable shoes (uneven terrain possible in some areas), water (refills available), and weather-appropriate clothing. * **Gratuity:** A $5 contribution is appreciated to help cover our Meetup subscription and group running costs.
