The recently renovated Robert F. Wagner park is perfectly situated for sweeping views of the bay, Ellis Island, and Statue of Liberty. Let's hang out in the park and draw! **We'll meet at the south entrance to the park, by Little W St and Battery Place.** Any problems on the day of the event, I can be reached at 646-831-9816. Looking forward to sketching with you! *** IMPORTANT: In case of rain, I will let people know early in the morning if it is canceled, and then reschedule for another day. *** What makes our Meetups different from other art groups and classes? There's no instruction, but we like to share our work, and chat and be inspired. Share tips and learn from people in a casual environment where all levels of artists are welcome! Don't be shy to ask anyone anything! • We sketch for a bit, usually 45 minutes or so, and then get back together and share our drawings, and then sketch again, etc. There's usually time for 3 sketches. • Please bring your own supplies - anything you like to work with - pens, pencil, watercolor, pastel, small sketchbook or large paper, iPad, whatever suits you. • We hand out nametags so everyone can meet one another! • We take photos to share on the site later. Take a bunch! • Sorry, but please leave the dogs at home; they tend to step on the artwork. Painting Tribeca (Duane Park and Skybridge)

Duane Park is an excellent location with a lot of space to paint the surrounding buildings, including a skybridge! Obviously there's lots of other great cast iron facades and old warehouses and new bougie brunch spots--it is Tribeca after all. Our meeting point will be at 11am inside Duane Park. Check in with me on-site so I know who's attending, and then we'll disperse to our individual painting spots. At 2pm, we'll meet back up to show off our art and discuss the day. Gather your materials (watercolor, oils, gouache, acrylics, marker: all are welcome) and join with other artists for the joys and challenges of painting outside!

Intermediate Figure Drawing (3 sessions)

Class dates: September 14\, 21\, & 28 \| 6:30\-9:30pm Learn to shade and render complex forms on the human figure in graphite, working with one model and the same pose for three sessions. Gaby will guide you from capturing accurate gesture and proportion, to understanding light physics and gradients to render realistic volumes. This class is suited for intermediate and advanced artists. Demos and individual critiques daily. **Materials:** Strathmore 400 series Drawing Paper, smallest 9”x12” or largest 18”x24” 4H, 2H, H, HB pencils (Staedler brand recommended) Kneaded eraser Tombow mono zero eraser, round tip (highly recommended)

Instructed Figure Drawing

All levels are welcome. In this class, we will focus on figure drawing and various drawing techniques. We begin with a short discussion/demo of different approaches to drawing. There is a live model for each session. Please bring a pad up to 18×24, a 2H, HB, and 4B pencil, and an eraser. **[If you don't know what to bring we recommend the following supplies](https://amzn.to/47VCpaE)**. This uninstructed session begins with short poses for attendees to warm up. The longest poses are 20 minutes. We take a 5-minute break every 20 minutes. There are cookies and fresh water available. We listen to music while we work. Please bring your supplies (we have limited supplies to lend out). Looking forward to seeing you! PLEASE NOTE: * We can not accommodate dry pastels (for health reasons), open ink containers, or paint other than watercolor. * Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of the moderator to prevent disruption to other artists. * Because of the limited space, we can not offer any refunds for the session. I appreciate your understanding. * Absolutely no photography while the model is posing.
