Indoor Draw & Sketch Hangout

Hi everyone! We're doing an afternoon sketching hangout at the MaRS Discovery building food court. Digital tablet, dry mediums, watercolour set, really anything that doesn't smell and is non toxic and easy to clean up. Take the TTC to Queens Park subway station on line 1. **Where to meet exactly?** MaRs food court below ground level. Enter MaRS Building through Collage and Spadina entrance past the seated statues and through the doors. (This is the only entrance to get into the building on the weekends without a fob) We meet by the food court tables at the far end, opposite to the escalators. Sketching Hangout... New Location

Hi everyone! We're doing an afternoon sketch hangout at CIBC food court. **First time meeting us and still not sure about the vibe?** Check out photos from **[past in-person events of 2025](https://www.meetup.com/artsrecto/photos/36185293/)** ***Bring your own art supplies*** (mainly dry medium or small watercolour set), and if you feel like it, order a drink and snacks. **Where to meet exactly?** From Union, you can either follow the signs to go straight to CIBC square one or get to ground level and walk along Bay street till you reach you see the CIBC square one building. Enter the CIBC building on either side of the train tracks and travel up to the fourth floor food court. I'll be at the tables at the far end of the food court by the windows. The purpose of the group, based on the book The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron, is for people to meet and talk about their artistic challenges in any field (painting, writing, music etc.) and encourage each other to break their creative blocks and fulfill themselves in their art. If you find people who are sympathetic, you may want to form your own group, meeting regularly to explore the book and supporting each other in their artistic journeys. Come paint something with us. A cafe table in downtown Toronto, paints and brushes laid out, coffee and something sweet, and a couple of hours to make one small painting. We all paint the same piece and I'll show you how — step by step, from the first pencil line to the last stroke. You don't need experience. You don't need to be able to draw. If you can hold a pencil, you're sorted. You'll end up talking to the people next to you. That's half of why it exists.
