Mapping for Equity in NYC Council District 11 with BetaNYC

[REGISTER ON TITO](https://ti.to/betanyc/mapping-for-equity-district11-july2026) BetaNYC will present the Mapping for Equity project and how to create more equitable and accessible mapped spaces. We will show you how we’re mapping parks and public spaces into OpenStreetMap. Through this activity, we are making sure there's equal representation in data while quantifying and mapping our public realm. Together, we will site, count, and map community assets such as street lamps, benches, water fountains, trash cans, and picnic tables. This event will be delivered in English and all ages are welcome to attend (provided that anyone under 18 years old is present with a parent or guardian). We will be moving about the city and on uneven terrain. Plan on wearing appropriate footwear and environmental attire. AI Jam Session/Meet the Community: A Pre Summit Event

AWS Jam challenges individuals and teams to apply their AWS Cloud skills to solve real-world, open-ended problems using AWS services. Engage in a gamified learning environment that helps you develop your AWS Cloud skills through simulated use cases in an AWS Management Console sandbox. Select challenges by technical domain or role and by difficulty level. Clues are available to help navigate the challenges if needed.

Desert and food events for low income families in the Bronx, and other recipients that need help throughout NY. Every Thursday - Saturday during January and February. ST. Lutheran's Church

THIS IS A REMINDER: members can sign up by calling the church and arrange to meet with other members. Every tues and Thurs, St Lutheran's church serve food to the needy in the neighborhood. Average 200 meals are served. 6 to 8 volunteers are needed. the meals are served between 1 to 2 pm. I understand this is the middle of the day. I will post this on first tues of every month to remind others. if you have the time pop in. Or bring donations k- every first monday of every month is Clothing bank. Helping the homeless to get off the streets this winter

Hello all, https://bowery.volunteerhub.com/vv2/ I was extremely saddened by this weekend's brutal killing of 4 homeless people in lower manhattan. I have contacted the Bowery mission to help and see what we can do as a community to provide food and shelter for the homeless. This is an endless effort. I encourage you all to helpout whenever, and whatever you have to get them off the streets, and to clean up the shelter and talk to the government to get programs incentives to allow landlords to use up their vacant space, even if its a few months for the winter. Many of you do not know that homeless people choose to be outside, because they don't feel safe in shelters. Or because of their illness that they do not want contact with people or helping themselves. Bowery mission helps manhattan folks - with shelter/ food/ clothing. Please help 1 at a time.
