Community Meal Service at Good Shepherd (Toronto)

Community Meal Service at Good Shepherd (Toronto)

Sat, Jun 13, 5:30 PM
From Toronto Joy
4.8

An opportunity to come together as a group to serve the homeless and those at risk. As Toronto Joy continues to grow, we are beginning to move away from Meetup and will now be using our website as the main place to stay connected. This will help us bring everything together in one place, making it easier to share upcoming volunteer opportunities, gatherings, events, and ways for more people to connect and be part of the community as Toronto Joy grows. **To stay updated and not miss upcoming volunteer opportunities, gatherings, events, and ways to connect, please register through the website:** [Toronto Joy](https://torontojoy.org?utm_source=chatgpt.com) During our recent sessions, we served meals, chopped veggies, made sandwiches, and helped prepare pasta. Each session is similar; however, tasks may vary depending on the need at hand (e.g., sorting food). *We had a great time serving together with lots of smiles and good energy.* **Only 6 spots are available. If you sign up, please do so with the intention of attending, as the organization relies on our numbers for planning.** We will send a reconfirmation message closer to the date, and if any spots become available, we will reach out to those on the waiting list. When you arrive at Reception, the staff will guide you to the volunteer room, where you can place your belongings in a locker and meet the group. **Before attending, please review and complete the Toronto Joy waiver form:** [https://forms.gle/1fsK9vYz6b6yDdeBA](https://forms.gle/1fsK9vYz6b6yDdeBA) **Below are simple guidelines from the Ministry on what to wear, safety, etc.:** [https://docs.google.com/document/d/1piAyloECv9YUDkPJuoJBdCmh3x8n1un1rGvJSFIkbs4/edit?usp=sharing](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1piAyloECv9YUDkPJuoJBdCmh3x8n1un1rGvJSFIkbs4/edit?usp=sharing) **Good to know:** * **Closed-toe shoes are required.** * Tie back long hair; minimal jewelry. * **Please arrive by *1:40 PM* at the latest** so we can plan who will be doing which roles and begin together. * If you can’t make it due to an emergency, please message me as soon as possible 🙏 Grateful to serve alongside you.

Avengers’ Saturday Cafe for the Homeless

Avengers’ Saturday Cafe for the Homeless

Sat, Jun 6, 3:00 PM
From The Avengers Club
5.0

Note: You may be removed from the attendance list if you've participated in the previous week's event. This allows for more people to experience this Meetup. Avengers put your costumes on and let’s go and save the world!
Well we can’t save the world (yet), but we aim to try to play a small part in the lives of those experiencing homelessness by making their day a bit better!
Description: Before the event the organizer will post a list in the comment section of the attendees and what they are responsible to bring (food/drink, kitchen supplies, cleaning supplies). We normally ask each attending member to bring approximately $15-20 worth of ingredients/supplies to our event. We will use the items to prepare and serve food/drink at The Meeting Place.
Timeline: We will meet on location at 11:00 am, with lunch served between 12:30-1:00 pm.
Membership Dues: Membership dues are $2.00 for the calendar year. Membership dues go towards paying for food/supplies incurred by no-shows. Membership dues are due at the first meetup of the year that you attend.
No Shows/Late Un-RSVP: We’re relying on members who RSVP to bring key ingredients for recipes! Please try your best to show-up or alternatively change your RSVP early so another member may fill the empty spot.
\*\*\* If you are on the waitlist, keep checking as you may be moved into attendance to replace someone. We will try to message you to confirm your attendance in advance.
Donations will be assigned before the event.

From Downtown Toronto Fitness & Wellness Community 💪🏻✨
4.7

**Join us at Thrive Longevity Training for an open house and community social.** This is a chance to meet our members, connect with the Thrive team, see the studio, and learn how our longevity based programming works. At Thrive, we are not just running random workouts. We use structured training blocks so members can build strength, improve conditioning, recover better, and actually see progress over time. Right now, our members are training in 6 week strength tracking blocks where we are measuring key lifts and movement patterns so we can see what is improving, where people need support, and how each person is progressing. You’ll get to learn more about: • Our longevity focused small group training • How we combine strength, cardio, recovery, and mindset • Why we track main lifts over 6 weeks • How our programming helps members build long term strength, fitness, and confidence • What makes the Thrive community different & Witness Award Ceremony For our Most Engaged Members There will be light snacks and refreshments, and you’ll have a chance to connect casually with members and coaches. This is a relaxed open house, not a workout. Come by, meet the community, ask questions, and see what Thrive is about. ### Event Details Award Ceremony & Social June 6th at 1:30 PM Thrive Longevity Training Snacks and refreshments provided
