Coastal Cleanup Day at Shimada Friendship Park
Sat, Sep 19, 4:00 PMJoin The Watershed Project and Supervisor John Gioia's Office for **Coastal Cleanup Day** at **Shimada Friendship Park** on **September 19, 2026 at 9:00 AM** to cleanup our shoreline and make space for all creatures! [RSVP here!](https://www.eventbrite.com/e/coastal-cleanup-day-at-shimada-friendship-park-tickets-1994883596538?aff=oddtdtcreator) This year's Coastal Cleanup Day theme, **Making Space for All Creatures**, highlights how every piece of litter removed helps create cleaner, healthier habitats for the birds, fish, mammals, and other wildlife that call the Bay home. By caring for our shoreline, we're protecting the places where people and wildlife can thrive together. We're also celebrating the 50th anniversary of the California Coastal Act, the landmark law that has protected California's coast by preserving habitats, safeguarding wildlife, and ensuring public access to our shorelines. Participating in Coastal Cleanup Day is one way we can continue that legacy, helping protect the coast and Bay we all love for generations to come. A huge part of Coastal Cleanup Day is collecting data that helps scientists, communities, and policymakers better understand and prevent marine debris. Along with removing trash, volunteers will participate in interactive educational activities to learn how their efforts contribute to healthier ecosystems and cleaner waterways. Please wear layers, a hat and/or sunscreen, and closed-toe shoes. Cleanup supplies will be provided, but if you have them, please bring a bucket, reusable gloves, and a reusable water bottle to help us reduce waste. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with nature, meet new friends, and make space for all creatures! See you there!

TGSF - End of Month Get-Together - In Person
Fri, Sep 25, 2:00 AM**Welcome** *ALL* trans, non-binary, gnc (Gender non-conforming), intersex, people sincerely questioning a transgender path, other friendly queers, and allies! TGSF gets together in person, at least once a month, generally on the last Thursday of the month. **Our "NEW VENUE"!** We will meet at **Taqueria San Jose,** which is the name of our old venue, but they moved across the street! So, same time, same name, but now at 2839 Mission St, across Mission Street, from Taqueria Los Altos. - Sorry for any confusion. It's good to buy food here to support them, but **food is optional**. (Meat will undoubtedly be eaten by someone at the restaurant. If you'd like to help organize vegan, or non-food events, please contact TGSF via *TGSF.org@proton.me* !) TGSF usually has an in-person End of Month dinner/gathering on the **last Thursday of each month**, except: * **March**, we attend **TDoV** (Transgender Day of Visibility) - [http://TDoV.org/](http://TDoV.org/) * **June**, we attend **Trans March** - [http://TransMarch.org/](http://TransMarch.org/) \- You really must experience this event\! * **November 20**, we attend **TDoR** (Transgender Day of Remembrance) - [http://TDoRSF.org/](http://TDoRSF.org/) * **December**, we'll meet before the traditional winter holidays – **Details to be announced.** * (If another trans/gnc-related event is important to support, it will be substituted for that month's gathering.) We try to keep the Meetup [http://www.meetup.com/TGSF-Transgender-San-Francisco/](http://www.meetup.com/TGSF-Transgender-San-Francisco/) up to date. But **we need volunteers to do Social Media!** Our Facebook and other Social Media haven't been updated in years. (Yes, **the website, TGSF.org, is still dead**. Eden hopes to have some ideas on how to fix it "soon".) ***Volunteers are always needed!*** We need people to: organize gatherings; to answer the phone messages and emails; for outreach to organizations and media; to organize and carry-out "mutual aid"; etc. Please do NOT use the Meetup, Facebook, or other sites to contact TGSF! Those methods may not be checked for months at a time. *The best (only realistic) way to contact us is through email: temporarily tgsf.org@proton.me .*

Tony’s Pizza Napoletana A la Carte Pizza Dinner: Table for 8
Sat, Sep 12, 1:00 AMSF Foodies has gone to Tony’s Pizza Napoltena a few times for it’s pricey tasting menu. That experience is not for everyone, so now you’ll have the opportunity to experience Tony’s your way, by ordering a la carte. I’m excited to try the calamari and revisit the Artichoke Joe pizza. Maybe you want to try one of the award-winning Neopolitan pizzas, or a hearty thick-crust style. Dining a la carte means waiting in line. Tony’s does not take reservations. We can wait in a nearby park or bar and get to know each other as we wait. The wait time will be unpredictable, and they will not seat us if our party is incomplete, so please arrive on time and don’t wander off. Also, large parties must dine outside. Tony’s does provide heat lamps, but sometimes one side of the table will end up warmer than the other, depending on the position of the heat lamps. You should dress for the weather, in layers. Chef Tony Gemignani is a thirteen-time World Pizza Champion. Tony’s was the first restaurant to bring several styles of pizza to California. Part of the appeal is the many different styles of pizza, cooked in different specialized pizza ovens. Hopefully we’ll share some food, but you can order on your own if you prefer. In addition to pizza, they have delicious pastas. They also serve vegan and gluten-free options. The menu is [here](https://tonyspizzanapoletana.com/menu/#dinner). **Costs** Assuming we share some pies, I expect that bill for food will run about $30-40. Alcoholic beverages can increase that total. Food and drinks will be the responsibility of the person(s) who ordered them. No separate checks. Please be prepared to split the check at the event and pay via cash, Venmo, Zelle, or Apple Cash. **Taxes and Fees** Dining in San Francisco has a sales tax (8.625%) and possibly a mandate (5-6%). We will add a gratuity of 20%. **Parking and Transportation** BART to Montgomery St plus a 15 minute walk Muni 39, 45 to Union & Columbus, 8 to Columbus & Green Limited street parking in North Beach, but garages are available

The original name became synonymous with intrigue and was a showcase of luxury with comfort at a time when traveling was still rough and dangerous.* *In Istanbul the Pera Palace Hotel, built in 1892, was the accommodation at the terminus. And we are staying in it!* ***The original Orient Express ceased operation in 1977 and we are not using the original old train. It no longer exists.*** EVERY aspect of this trip is epic. * Visit picturesque and storied cities. * Enjoy trains and experience the enchantment of the rails. * In the end you will have visited 6 countries: France, Italy, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary and Turkey! **The tour starts in Paris on Sep 20 and ends in Istanbul on Oct 03.** ***$5490 total cost per person, double occupancy.*** ***$7090 total cost for solo occupancy.*** PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE AIRFARE.
