Pigeon First Aid & Companion Animal Care **Sunday\, June 14th \| 11am–2pm** Meet at the Powell Street BART Station, San Francisco Ever wanted to be a hero to pigeons and their animal neighbors—all in one afternoon? Join us for a hands-on day of compassion, learning, and real impact in the heart of SF. San Francisco’s pigeons often suffer from painful injuries caused by string, hair, and other debris tightly wrapped around their toes. These tiny hazards can lead to serious infections and even amputations. Together, we’ll gently rescue injured pigeons, remove the harmful materials, provide basic first aid, and release them safely back to their flocks. While we’re out on the streets, we’ll also be sharing food and toys for companion animals belonging to our unhoused neighbors—because care and kindness should extend to all animals, big and small. No experience necessary! We’ll provide all the training and supplies you’ll need. Just bring: Compassion Comfortable shoes A willingness to help animals who are often overlooked ARRIVE ON TIME! We’ll begin promptly at 11am with a brief about essential safety and training. If you arrive late, we will be out and about and hard to contact and find so please be on time. 🎟️ free for [@touchstoneclimbing](https://www.instagram.com/touchstoneclimbing/) gym members! 🎫 $20 day pass for non-members (thats a 33% discount on the regular price!) 🧗🏻‍♂️rentals are FREE for QC attendees, so no need to worry if you don’t have climbing shoes or a harness (if you wanna climb ropes!) 🎉this is an all levels meet up, so no matter your experience, you’re welcome to join us! ⏰come early so that you make it to our intro circle and you get to make community with other members RSVP: [https://portal.touchstoneclimbing.com/missioncliffs/programs/queer-crush](https://portal.touchstoneclimbing.com/missioncliffs/programs/queer-crush) NOTE: Mission Cliffs offers bouldering or rope climbing. With bouldering, you climb up to about \~15 feet from the ground, are not secured to a rope, and do not need a partner; it's probably the easiest way for beginners to explore climbing for the first time! **With rope climbing...** * You climb in pairs - the climber on the wall & the belayer on the ground ensuring the climber doesn't fall. Belayers need to learn how to belay & pass a test administered by the gym staff for safety reasons! * At this gym, the climber doesn't need to take a test (the belayer can check safety for both people); however, it's unlikely that for you to find a partner who only ever wants to belay from the ground while you're climbing. * Therefore, if rope climbing is really important to you (getting that adrenaline rush from going \~60 feet up!), you should plan when you're going to 1) learn to belay and 2) do the belay test with gym staff (which also depends on gym staff availability) * For many first-time ever learners, learning to belay can take the entirety of the Queer Crush session (and also depends on our ability to have someone who can teach you). Since the gym closes soon after our session, this means that you may not get much time, if any, on the wall! * At Mission Cliffs, most days before Queer Crush, there is an Intro to Climbing Class that the gym offers. We highly recommend you taking this class, then , time-permitting taking a belay test with gym staff, and then joining our group. This would be the best way to do rope climbing as a beginner with other queer crushers

Marin Brunch Club: Cultivar (Sausalito)

Marin Brunch Club: Cultivar (Sausalito)

Sun, Jun 14, 7:30 PM
From Marin Brunch Club

Six seats. Good wine. Even better conversation. Cultivar recently opened in Sausalito and it’s exactly the kind of place worth gathering around — intimate, inviting, and new enough that it still feels like a find. **What to expect:** A relaxed mid-day Sunday brunch with a group of people who enjoy good conversation. And if the mood strikes after, Sausalito’s downtown is fun to explore with local shops and waterfront views. **Who this is for:** You like exploring new places. You’d rather have one real conversation than five forgettable ones. You care about the atmosphere and even more about the people in it. We’re slowly building a small group of people who look forward to seeing each other. We’d love to see you there. **To reserve your spot:** All attendees will initially be placed on a **waitlist**. As this event has limited space, not all waitlisted guests will be moved to the **“Going”** list. Once you receive my direct message, you will be moved to the **“Going”** list only after your deposit* is received. *There is a $20 deposit to secure your spot. All deposits will be returned to you at brunch or if you cancel with more than 24 hrs notice. Why the hold? Small groups only work when everyone shows up. This keeps us accountable to each other from day one. Thank you for understanding!
