Édition 51: La Marque de Frida Isberg

Pour notre prochaine rencontre, nous lirons *La Marque,* premier roman de la jeune auteure islandaise Frida Isberg. Couronné par le Prix des libraires et nominé pour de nombreux grands prix en Islande, *La Marque* est une dystopie polyphonique glaçante de réalisme et terriblement actuelle. Reykjavík, Islande. Dans une société divisée, en perte de sens et de confiance, un test d’empathie, gage de fiabilité morale, est mis en place. Les personnes non marquées – n’ayant pas réussi le test ou refusant de s’y plier – sont petit à petit mises au ban de la société, se voyant refuser l’accès à un emprunt, à certains postes, voire à certains quartiers. Il ne reste désormais plus que quelques jours avant que le test ne devienne peut-être obligatoire pour tous. Quelques jours déterminants pour Vetur, Eyja, Tristan et Óli, pris dans l’engrenage d’une société divisée, aux règles du jeu explosives. Insécurité, démons du passé, ambitions politiques, addiction, chacun doit lutter, à sa façon, dans une course effrénée contre la montre. Friendly Silent Reading Circle

Join us for a relaxed silent-reading session in a warm and welcoming café/bar. Bring your current read (or grab a new one!), settle in with a drink or snack, and enjoy an hour or two of calm, focused reading alongside fellow book lovers. 📖 No pressure, no agenda—just a peaceful moment to unwind, read, and maybe chat a little afterward. 😊 This group/event is an english-speaking one ( although the books don't have to be). We'll try to find a cozy and comfortable nook to settle into but we can't guarantee total silence. So if you are easily distracted by ambient noise, we recommend you bring a pair of noise canceling headphones 🎧😌 PS: The current café that hosts us every Saturday afternoon, requires a 5€ drink minimum

**Nous vous proposons un atelier d'écriture autour de La division Antimémétique n'existe pas afin de vous aussi écrire votre propre rapport de SCP (ou un texte dans cet univers)** Lors cet événement (réservé, en principe, aux participants du café lecture de ce livre, prévu le matin) , nous nous lancerons chacun dans l'écriture de notre propre texte, dans le style du livre. Offline Silent Reading & Meet new People

**Bring your own physical book!!** Welcome to our very first offline event. Here, we will put our phones away in a very secure box provided by our host. (Do not worry; if you do not want to lock it away, you can turn it off and keep it in your bag). We will read in silence for about an hour and spend the next hour afterwards discussing the books we read and freely chit-chat with one another as we wish. There is no obligation to talk; you can just listen if that is only what you want to do. **Please, we have limited seats, so make sure to only RSVP if you are sure you will be there.** **The event is free; you just have to at least buy a coffee from our host to support them for hosting us for free.** See you soon!
