🌆THE PATH, CIBC SQUARE & WATERFRONT SUMMER EVENING WALK! 🌆
Thu, Aug 6, 10:30 PM# 🌆THE PATH, CIBC SQUARE & WATERFRONT SUMMER EVENING WALK! 🌆 **Escape the Heat, Explore Toronto's Underground City & End the Night by the Lake** When Toronto gets hot, the smartest place to explore isn't always outside. Join us for a summer evening adventure through **PATH**, Toronto's incredible underground city — a 30-kilometre network of tunnels, office towers, shopping, food courts, and hidden passageways connecting more than 70 downtown buildings. We'll spend much of the evening enjoying the cool, air-conditioned spaces before making our way to one of Toronto's newest public spaces: **CIBC Square Park**, an elevated urban park built above the railway tracks with incredible views of the city. To finish the evening, we'll head down to Toronto's beautiful waterfront where those who would like can grab a **BeaverTail**, relax by the lake, and enjoy one of the best summer evenings the city has to offer. This isn't a historical tour. It's a social walk, an urban adventure, and a great excuse to escape the summer heat while discovering parts of downtown many people have never seen. 📲 **Join Our WhatsApp Group:**[ Click here to join](https://chat.whatsapp.com/DRFTkxRlHS4B3IL1lMleUd) *** ## 🚶♂️ What We'll Do We'll begin at **Wellesley Subway Station** before making our way west and then south toward the PATH system. Once underground we'll weave our way through Toronto's famous underground city, discovering hidden corridors, office towers, shopping areas, and the unique network that keeps downtown moving year-round. From there we'll visit **CIBC Square Park**, Toronto's beautiful new elevated park built above the rail corridor, offering spectacular views over Union Station and the surrounding skyline. Finally we'll stroll down to the waterfront where we'll relax beside Lake Ontario. If you'd like, we'll grab a BeaverTail and spend a little time enjoying the evening before heading home. Expect about **2½ to 3 hours** of walking at a comfortable social pace. *** ## ☀️ Weather & Expectations This walk happens rain or shine. One of the best parts of this event is that much of our route is indoors in the cool PATH system, making it the perfect escape from hot summer days. Please wear comfortable walking shoes, as we'll still be covering several kilometres. This is a social walk—not a guided historical tour. *** ## 🧢 Meetup Details **📍 Meetup Location:** Main entrance of Wellesley Subway Station (near the PRESTO machines) 🫎 I'll be wearing my **Moose Hat** **⏰ Meetup Time:** **6:30 PM** **I will only wait 5 minutes.** Early is on time. On time is late. We will leave promptly and won't be able to spend time helping late arrivals catch up. **🏁 End Spot:** Toronto Waterfront *** ## 🎟️ Meetup Fee **$5 cash in person or e-transfer** 📧 **[mathewmaclean@hotmail.com](mailto:mathewmaclean@hotmail.com)** This fee helps support the group and allows us to continue organizing events like this. Thank you for supporting community! 💖 *** ## 🎒 What to Bring 💧 Water 👟 Comfortable walking shoes 💳 Spending money if you'd like a BeaverTail 🧥 A light sweater (the PATH can feel cool) *** ## 🌈 Who Is This For? This group is open to anyone who wants to be social and make friends—whether single or not. We also host: 🎬 Movies 🚶 Walks & hikes 🎭 Arts & culture outings 🍽️ Restaurant gatherings There's always something happening. *** **REMEMBER:** You're welcome to just show up on the day if you're unsure about your schedule. Sometimes things happen and events may need to be cancelled, so please keep an eye on updates. *** 👤 **Organizer:** Mathew Questions? Post on the event wall or email 📧 **[torontomoviesandoutings@hotmail.com](mailto:torontomoviesandoutings@hotmail.com)** **Come for the cool tunnels.** **Stay for the skyline views.** **Leave with a BeaverTail in hand and the waterfront at sunset.** 🌆🍁🌊

🌿🌊 TORONTO ISLANDS SUMMER WALK (9KM) 🌊🌿
Sun, Aug 9, 3:00 PM# 🌿🌊 TORONTO ISLANDS SUMMER WALK (9KM) 🌊🌿 ### Island Paths, Skyline Views & Toronto's Best Urban Escape There is something magical about the Toronto Islands. Just minutes from downtown, the noise of the city disappears and is replaced by tree-lined paths, open green spaces, quiet cottages, and some of the best skyline views anywhere in Toronto. It feels like you've escaped the city without ever leaving it. Join us for a relaxed summer walk across the Toronto Islands as we explore **Hanlan's Point, Centre Island, and Ward's Island**, enjoying beautiful scenery, fresh air, and great conversation along the way. The Toronto Islands have a fascinating history. Originally connected to the mainland as a long sandbar peninsula, a powerful storm in 1858 permanently separated the land from Toronto, creating the islands we know today. Over the years they've been home to amusement parks, summer cottages, and the unique island community that still exists today on Ward's Island. This is **not** a formal historical tour. It's a social walk with beautiful scenery, fresh air, and great conversation. 📲 **Don't Forget to join our WhatsApp Group – \[CLICK HERE\!\]\(📲 Join Our WhatsApp Group: Click here to join\)** *** ## 🚶♂️ What We'll Do We'll take the **11:15 AM Hanlan's Point Ferry** to the islands and begin our walk. Our route will take us through: 🌿 Hanlan's Point 🌳 Centre Island 🏡 Ward's Island 📸 Several incredible skyline viewpoints 🌊 Beautiful waterfront pathways We'll stop throughout the walk to enjoy the scenery for a 30mins break, take photos, and experience one of Toronto's most unique parks. Feel free to bring a snack or something small to share during one of our breaks. **Please Note:** Although we'll pass several beaches, we won't be stopping at them during this event. We have a route to follow and a ferry to catch! Instead, we'll enjoy our break at one of the islands' spectacular skyline lookout points, where you can relax, have a snack, and take some amazing photos. If you'd rather spend time at the beach, you're welcome to do so after the walk, but the group won't be waiting as we continue on our planned route. Our return ferry will be the **2:45 PM Ward's Island Ferry** back to downtown Toronto. Expect approximately **3½ to 4 hours** including the ferry rides and breaks. *** ## ☀️ Weather & Expectations This event happens in typical summer weather. The islands are often cooler and breezier than downtown Toronto, so bringing a light sweater is never a bad idea. The only reason we would cancel is because of severe weather or thunderstorms. This is a social walk—not a guided historical tour. I'll share interesting facts along the way, but the focus is enjoying the islands together. *** ## 🧢 Meetup Details **📍 Meetup Location:** **INSIDE the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal after your ticket has been scanned.** We are meeting **inside** the paid waiting area **beside the washrooms**. **Please do NOT wait outside the terminal.** Once your ferry ticket has been scanned, walk into the waiting area and you'll find me beside the washrooms wearing my **Moose Hat**. ⏰ **Meetup Time:** **11:00 AM** 🚢 **Hanlan's Point Ferry LEAVES AT:** **11:15 AM** Once we board the ferry, it is extremely difficult for late arrivals to catch up with the group. 🚢 **Return Ferry:** **2:45 PM from Ward's Island** 🎟️ **Ferry Ticket:** *$9.40* You must purchase your ferry ticket before signing up. [CLICK HERE FOR TICKETS!](https://secure.toronto.ca/FerryTicketOnline/tickets2/index.jsp) *** ## 🎟️ Meetup Fee **$5 cash in person or e-transfer** 📧 **[mathewmaclean@hotmail.com](mailto:mathewmaclean@hotmail.com)** This fee helps support the group and allows us to continue organizing events like this. Thank you for supporting community! 💖 *** ## 🎒 What to Bring 💧 Water 👟 Comfortable walking shoes 🥨 A snack 🧥 A light sweater 🕶️ Sunglasses 📸 Camera or phone for photos *** ## 🌈 Who Is This For? There are different prices for each type of accommodation and the options will be first-come first served based on who pays first.
