Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) and Role-Playing Games Evening!

Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) and Role-Playing Games Evening!

Tue, Aug 4, 6:00 PM
From Ludoquist Meetups
4.9

Local Dungeon Masters/Games Masters will be running three or four games every Tuesday. These will be straightforward "turn up and play" games, where pre-generated characters will be provided for you - All you need to bring is your imagination! Ideal for newcomers, but more experienced players absolutely welcome! Please note that we will increase the Meetup cap upwards from 10 once we have sufficient volunteer GMs for this event. Please turn up from 6:30pm so we can arrange into groups just before 7:00pm and be ready to start rolling dice. *We can't guarantee your place at a table if you arrive after 7pm.* **NEW:** On arrival, please find one of the event hosts and let them know you are present, so we can check you in. *(And tell us your name! Some of us aren't great at remembering names/faces.)* Attendance for players will be £8.00 payable to The Ludoquist. It's also worth mentioning that, if you sign up with a guest and find yourself on the waitlist, Meetup will often move individuals off the waitlist before you as spots become free. This is less than ideal but is out of our hands unfortunately. For this reason (among others), we recommend you and your guest sign up for the event individually. **Ludoquist RPG Code of Conduct** We will always do our best to make sure games are safe and fun spaces for everyone, and we ask that players do the same. Respect your fellow players: * Try to ensure everyone has a chance to speak. * If you feel unwell on the day of the event we ask that you don't come along, and mark yourself as *"Not going"*. * Never be disparaging or insulting towards other players - conflicts between characters can be good, but conflict between players never is. The following topics will never be introduced in games organised by The Ludoquist, and we ask that you don't introduce them either. * *Sexual assault* * *Slavery* * *LGBTA+ discrimination or harassment* * *Racism* * *Harm to children* * *Cancer, dementia, or other serious real-world illness* If you have a specific trigger or phobia that you would like to not occur in play please let your GM know. All our GMs are happy to oblige. In general swearing is entirely fine but if a player asks that it's toned down, please do so. Please do also be aware that The Ludoquist is a public venue, and language used should be appropriate to that and please be aware of any neighbouring tables.

Stories await with our main shared world in which the Questly Squids make a mark on the world by joining us in a wonderful world of magic. Open to new and veteran players alike! If you are new to the group we recommend you message an organizer to ensure you have a table to play on. Our members are friendly and helpful if you are new to the game so do not worry about knowing all the rules! We recommend bringing a set of polyhedral dice and a pen/pencil. But we have plenty of spares you may borrow on the night if you don't have any. We host our games in a shared campaign spread across 3-5 tables of players. each table has 1 DM (dungeon master) who runs the game for you and a fellow 3-7 players on the table alongside you out on a quest! Quests last for 3 sessions and then the tables mix again with new player groups and possibly new DMs. How does this all work? You'll have to pop down and see. THE QUESTLY SQUIDS NEED YOU!
