Backgammon Social Drinks n Dinner at Civil Service Club, Great Scotland Yard

First timers - please kindly read below about bringing your board, meetup fee (cash/paypal/bank transfer), purchasing drinks and food, etiquette etc Please RSVP - CSC requires names of guests Intro Dear Backgammon Lovers, We are returning to the Civil Service Club that is moments from Trafalgar Square and many other transport links. Social & Fun Backgammon 🎲🎲 at the CSC Whether you're a seasoned backgammoner or a newbie looking to learn this fabulous game that is thousands of years old, our social event is open to all. This is the perfect opportunity to sharpen your game, and share a laugh (or a lucky double six!) over backgammon. Add in a drink, maybe dinner, and you’ve got the recipe for a fun and relaxed evening. Venue Food and Drink We’re asked to buy at least one drink (or even two!) whilst we’re at the Club, and if possible food too. You'll find that prices are good and there's a nice range of food and snacks on offer, so it’s a great chance to relax and make the most of the day. About our backgammon social group Our group has been running for 11 years since June 2015 and we have held nearly 500 official backgammon meetings - along with a further 300 off-grid (non meetups) since then. We are the largest backgammon group in the UK with nearly 2,500 backgammoners as members. What makes our group different and special are its members and the warmth, humour and friendliness whilst playing this splendid social game over a few drinks... usually fortnightly, and on a Sunday. We have about 30-odd regular members who play socially and we very much welcome new players too - so do come along. Dinner Time and Drinks and Food In between the rounds of backgammon many of us sit for a meal around 6pm, but you can order drinks and food whenever you like. RSVP Please RSVP asap - Often I need to provide the Club with an indication of names and numbers. Bring your own Backgammon Board - no problem if initially you don't have one. Love seeing the different styles and size of boards - my boards have somehow gotten larger over the years. Please bring your own backgammon board and should you not have one please let us know in advance via the Meetup message board so that others can make the effort to bring theirs. Meetup Fee I will ask for £4 (please kindly bring cash) as the meetup organisation fees etc have increased substantially over the past year or two. This also assists paying other admin costs including Club membership and tips to staff. Other Games We sometimes play other games in the evening such as Rummikub, Yahtzee, and a type of Gin Rummy... so ask and watch this space! Etiquette Just a quick reminder- it’s always nice to say thank you to the staff at the CSC when you can. Let’s also enjoy this splendid game with kindness and fun with each other. Whether you’re old or new to the club, we would love to have you join us! We are situated in the main bar area and have tables suitable for games taking 4-6 players. We encourage you to discuss any games you would like to play, or will be bringing in the chat. Please note we do not have a stock of games. We rely on members bringing their own games. 
Parking is available on some nearby streets. There is also some limited parking outside the venue. 
Attending members will be asked to pay £1 per Meetup (card/contactless only) to the club organisers. The fee helps pay for our Meetup subscription and venue memberships.

Tuesday Evening Gaming at the Prince Alfred

**We are in the function room on the first floor, the door that leads upstairs is next to the fireplace.** Please ensure you read these: [Rules](https://www.londononboard.com/rules-regulations) We don't allow Chess, Scrabble, Monopoly, Roleplaying games, Magic the Gathering, Mafia, Werewolf etc. at LoB as there are other venues or groups for that and we want to make sure that there is enough space for board games. We want everyone that comes to our events to have a good time, and we know that some games require more communication than others. Please be mindful that we are in a small space and that other members will need to explain rules and focus. As a small group of volunteers, we are very dependent on the good will of our venues to host us for free. It is vitally important that everyone attending LoB buys food and drink to ensure that we can build and maintain those relationships with our venues. If you have any feedback about the venue, please report it to us directly rather than speaking to the staff. You must only attend if you have a place, i.e. that you have made it off the waitlist. If you can no longer attend, please mark your RSVP as ‘Not Going’, ideally more than an hour before the event starts. Please be aware that an organiser may ask to see proof of RSVP.

Relaxed Mafia (Beginner Friendly)

## Welcome to Relaxed Mafia Come and play Mafia, an exciting social deduction game, in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Players of all levels of experience are welcome, including complete beginners. There is a recommended donation of between £5 and £10 to help us to cover our Meetup fees. If you can't afford this though, then don't let this stop you coming! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
