Silicon Bridge: The Berlin-East Africa Founder Banquet

Silicon Bridge: The Berlin-East Africa Founder Banquet

Tue, Jun 23, 4:30 PM
From The Silicon Bridge

**The Vision** Silicon Bridge is a high-level "Founder’s Table" dedicated to the economic integration of Berlin and East Africa. On June 23rd, we are convening 50 key stakeholders to move beyond general networking and focus on the **strategic growth** of this specific corridor. **Why the "Corridor"?** The connection between the German and East African tech ecosystems is deepening. From human capital and talent to cross-border liquidity and market entry, we are building the "Bridge" that makes these operations seamless. **The Focus of the Evening:** * **The Experience Table:** A seated multi-course dinner where guests are matched for 1-on-1 impact based on their sector and interests. * **The "Transaction Gap":** Informal insights into the financial and legal rails connecting the EU and the EAC. * **Market Entry:** Peer-to-peer exchange on scaling ventures across these two distinct regions. https://luma.com/m4d6ber1 - Register on the luma site and be part of a very personal evening. You will not only leave with a LinkedIn connection but an ally in your endeavours. **RSVP & Matchmaking:** To ensure a high-density exchange, we use a simple registration process. This allows us to curate the seating so you are sitting next to the people most relevant to your goals—whether you are an investor, an established founder, or a professional entering the corridor. * **The Bridge Perspective:** You aren't just buying dinner; you're buying a seat at the strategic table for the East Africa-Germany corridor. **Tickets:** Once your registration is confirmed, you will receive a link to finalize your seat. * **Ticket Price:** €50 (Includes a multi-course dinner and drinks). * **Registration:** A limited number of **Early Bird seats (€40)** are available for the first applicants approved * https://luma.com/m4d6ber1 - Register and do not miss out. Location To be communicated at a later time

Monthly Book Club Meeting - June

Monthly Book Club Meeting - June

Sun, Jun 14, 1:00 PM
From International Book Club Berlin
4.8

Dear Book Enthusiasts, For our June gathering, we’ll be reading ***The Summer Book*** by the Finnish writer **Tove Jansson**. First published in 1972, this quiet and deeply moving novel follows the relationship between a young girl and her grandmother as they spend a summer together on a small island in the Gulf of Finland. Through brief, luminous episodes, Jansson explores childhood, aging, nature, solitude, and the subtle bonds between generations with warmth, humor, and extraordinary sensitivity. Gentle yet profound, *The Summer Book* is a celebration of life’s small moments and the beauty of human connection. **📅 Date & Time: Sunday, 14.06.2026 at 15:00** **📍 Location: Audrey coffee, Holzendorffstraße 18, 14057 Berlin** **💬 Fee: As always, a 3 € contribution after the meeting helps cover organization costs** As I mentioned in earlier announcements, due to personal reasons I will not be able to attend a few upcoming meetings. Three lovely friends of mine — Miry, Kat, and Cristina — who also happen to be regulars in our book club, kindly agreed to moderate and host this gathering during my absence. I truly hope you’ll join me in giving them a very warm welcome and your support. I’m very much looking forward to hearing all about your discussion and to gathering together again soon. Warmly, Sofya

📚 **Berlin Arabic Book Club – Weekly Meetup** Join us for our weekly book discussion. Whether you're reading a novel in Arabic, a memoir in English, or a philosophical essay in German, you're welcome to bring it and share a few thoughts. Each session is relaxed, with no required reading — just bring a book you’re currently into or one you’ve read and want to talk about. ### 🔸 What to Expect: * We gather, grab coffee or tea ☕, and introduce ourselves. * Each member briefly talks about their book (any language is fine: Arabic, English, or German). * We open the floor for conversation, questions, or thoughts sparked by the books. * Cultural exchange is encouraged! ### 🔸 What to Bring: * A book you're reading or one you'd love to talk about. * An open mind and curiosity.

Spandau Boardgames Evening

Spandau Boardgames Evening

Fri, Jun 5, 5:00 PM
From New Friends Community Spandau
4.9

:) \-\-\- **EN** \-\-\- **We are meeting on the 5th of June at 7 pm for a relaxed Boardgames Evening at the small café of the Paul-Schneider-Haus! You can either buy drinks there or bring your own if you prefer. Important to bring: snacks (if needed) and your favourite boardgames! There are no games there, so we rely on what we bring. But also don't worry, if you have nothing to bring. Can't wait to see you there :)** We want to create a community where people can meet, exchange ideas and share new experiences. Our aim is to create an open and friendly atmosphere where you can find new friends and have interesting conversations. Are you new to Spandau and haven't really found your place yet? Have you been living in Spandau for a while and don't always want to travel to Mitte to experience something new? If you would like to become part of this community and experience some great moments together, you are welcome to join us! We are happy to see you soon! :)
