Let’s get together for some scrabble and back gammon games ! We need a minimum of 4 participants to make this event happen. If anyone has a more suitable location than Bodega please feel free to suggest it.

Meets every Sunday from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m at the Encino Courtyard : 17401 Ventura Boulevard, Encino 91316 The Courtyard is at street level. There is plenty of free parking in the back lot or on Ventura Blvd. You can see us playing next to Western Bagel and Planet Fitness. All levels of players are welcome. You're welcome to stay and play for the whole time or just a few games. Please bring a board if you have one (Although we always have a few extras on hand). Our food has been featured on the Michelin Guide since opening, and our cocktail and wine lists have received awards from PUNCH and Wine Spectator, respectively. Welcome! All levels of chess players can join whether you're a beginner or a grand master. We'll be at the big table in the middle of the restaurant. Some chess sets will be provided but feel free to bring your own equipment. Please RSVP with number of guests if you plan to attend. We play chess between 1:30 - 6:00PM. Parking is FREE on Sunday in the parking structures between Santa Monica Blvd and South Santa Monica Blvd. I look forward to seeing you all at Le Pain! Since early 2026 We've also been playing **Oware** as well and now I'm making it an official part of the club. We play the international tournament version with Abapa rules. It's very easy to learn and a lot of fun to play. So, if there are any Oware players out there, you are most welcome to attend. Feel free to bring your Oware sets if you have them. Here's some info about Oware from Google: Oware is estimated to be roughly **7,000 years old**, making it widely regarded as one of the oldest continuously played board games in human history. Oware is a famous two-player abstract strategy board game in the mancala family, originating from West Africa and widely considered the national game of Ghana. The board has 12 small pits (houses) with four seeds or beans in each, and the goal is to capture 25 or more seeds to win. **A special note to new members and first time attendees:** There are may times where it looks like the only person attending the meetup is the organizer. Don't let that throw you. We have a core group of regulars who show up every week but are allergic to RSVP-ing. Getting them to RSVP is like trying to declaw a feral cat! We also have members who are not part of meetup so they can't RSVP in the first place. When we *do* get RSVPs, you can pretty much double; sometimes even triple that number to estimate attendance. So, come check us out even when it looks like there's no one attending. Hope to see you there!

I'm at Grismer Coves, apartment A11 - buzz 11 at the gate. First building, upstairs. There will be drinks in the fridge and a candy bowl on the table. If you'd like to bring something, great, but don't feel obligated. Vaccinated only. No mask required. FYI - I have a cat. The first 9 spots are open to anyone. After that, I will move some people from the waitlist to 'Going', but I give priority to folks who are regulars. BTW - I know parking can be a pain. Please follow these suggestions: 1. Look on Grismer. You might get lucky. 2. Drive down to the corner of Grismer and San Fernando. Turn right. 3. Park. There are always about 10 spaces there and it's only a block away. People don't look there because it feels like you're getting on the freeway.

THE CROWD** Come play—or watch—Werewolf, the social-deduction game similar to Mafia, reimagined as a live comedy tournament with professional comedians. **TICKETS** **$15 at the door** Discounted advance tickets are available through Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ultimate-werewolf-comedy-show-tickets-1996182339112 Seating and onstage player spots are limited. Please RSVP on Meetup but especially get tickets on event brite if you’d like to guarantee your spot. Part comedy show. Part social-deduction tournament. Complete chaos. Six professional comedians who have performed at venues including The Comedy Store, Hollywood Improv, and the Laugh Factory will compete across three live games of Ultimate Werewolf alongside volunteers selected from the audience. A few players will secretly be assigned as werewolves. Everyone else must identify them before the werewolves eliminate the entire village. Expect bluffing, accusations, alliances, betrayals, ridiculous defenses, and extremely confident decisions based on almost no information. PLAY OR WATCH Want to play? We save several onstage game spots for audience members who want to come and compete against the comedians. Prefer to watch? That works too. Follow the mystery, root for your favorite players, and try to identify the werewolves from your seat. Audience participation is completely optional, and no previous Werewolf experience is required. The rules will be explained, and each game will be hosted so the action is easy and fun to follow. The comedians will earn points throughout the tournament. The top three will qualify to return for the next show, and the evening’s champion will close the night with a victory stand-up set.
