Danach Kaffee — wer mag. Dies ist explizit kein Networking Event. Es gibt keine Pitches, keine Visitenkarten und keinen Grund, beeindruckend zu sein. Es ist auch kein spirituelles Event. Es geht darum, Positivität zu verbreiten, einfach mal Danke zu sagen, Geschichten zu teilen und die Stadt mit offenen Augen zu sehen. Silent Reading Club
Sun, Aug 9, 9:00 AMDitch the old book club, where everyone has to read the same book...this is better! It works like this: Bring your own book. Come chat, have some tea or coffee, get to know your neighbors. Then we quietly read together, side by side, for about one hour, each one reading their own book, and afterwards we talk with each other about what we are reading. The usual agenda: - Arrival and introduction (~20 minutes) - Silent reading (~1 hour) - Discussion (~30-40 minutes) - Join us for a bite at a local restaurant afterwards, if you like! You may read in any language, you may read any book. We are a group of international residents of Berlin from many different countries, of all ages, and we converse in English. We welcome you! No registration needed – the event is donation based. All funds support the Offenes Wohnzimmer.

Wed, Aug 12, 5:00 PM**A conversation about migration and belonging** Free event **(Please note that we invite people through multiple channels, so there are more attendees than you can see here :)** If you have spent some years away from where you were born, you probably know this experience: You don’t fully feel local where you live, but when you go home, you realize that you don’t fully belong there anymore either. It’s even crazier for those of us, who were born here but are perceived as foreigners because of our parents' origin. At this event we want to share thoughts and observations about feeling in-between countries, homes and cultures. We want to hear different perspectives and learn from each other on how we deal with questions of identity and belonging. (If you have no history of migration yourself, you are still very welcome to join us and listen!) As always, we will try out new methods for more focused, relaxed, and meaningful discussions. During the session, you will: * Practise expressing your ideas clearly and confidently. * Take part in meaningful professional conversations. * Explore realistic business communication scenarios. * Receive expert feedback and practical suggestions to help you continue improving. The aim is to create a relaxed environment where professionals can practise English, exchange ideas and build confidence when communicating internationally.
