Bookclub: Shida Bazyar The nights are quiet in Tehran

Fri, Sep 18, 5:00 PM
From Barcelona Women Bookclub

Hi all, **About our group** * We're a small, friendly book club that started in 2023, with a focus on **reading works by women authors from across the world**. 📖 * We **meet** **once a month**, on the second Friday of each month, in the same place. Ideally, you'd be ok with committing to read one book a month and joining the bookclub for a chat about it. ☕📚💬 * We're looking for a few new members who'd like to **become part of the club long term**. We know life happens (and on occasion other events get in the way😅), so we're not expecting perfection and attendance every month, but a commitment to do as often as possible so we can all have interesting exchanges of ideas and perspectives, and foster a strong readers group. 💛 * We intentionally keep the group small and closed, because **we want to create a space where we can really get to know each other and build genuine friendships**, rather than being a book club where people come and go. 🫶✨ * And it's not all about the books! We also organise social events, celebrate birthdays and other special occasions, and go away together for a yearly weekend retreat. 🏡🌿📚 * **Curious to see what we've been reading so far?** 📖 Have a look [here](https://docs.google.com/document/d/12X06vDtuAlkwtoFpyIsXqsceR-NgX-338c4kAOVQr3M/edit?usp=sharing). * If this sounds like your kind of book club, we'd love to meet you! 💕 Come along to one of our next events, and see if we're your people. 📚✨ _ **About this event** Let’s meet and discuss [Shida Bazyar’s ](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/232273862-the-nights-are-quiet-in-tehran)*[The Nights Are Quiet in Tehran](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/232273862-the-nights-are-quiet-in-tehran)* (272 pages). We’ll have a chance to: * Share our thoughts and first impressions of the novel * Discuss its themes of revolution, displacement, family, and identity * Talk about the characters and how their experiences shape the story * Compare different perspectives and interpretations * Share our favorite or most memorable moments Looking forward to a great discussion! 📚

**Welcome to the meeting of our cozy book club!** 📚☕ This time, we’ll discuss Our Souls at Night by Kent Haruf. It's his final novel, and love is the central topic, though it's not a typical romantic story. **About** **us:** We are a small book club exploring a variety of genres and authors in coffee places across Barcelona. We come from different backgrounds, and our discussions are in English. However, you may read in any language. We value thoughtful conversations, a relaxed atmosphere, and inclusivity.

DUBLINESES, de James Joyce

DUBLINESES, de James Joyce

Sun, Sep 20, 4:00 PM
From Club lector.
4.7
