Volleyball on Monday Public Holiday

Volleyball on Monday Public Holiday

Mon, Jun 8, 4:00 AM
From Volleyball at Sydney Park
4.8

Play social volleyball in a structured yet easy-going relaxed atmosphere. All levels welcome, from "never-played-before" to "advanced". **What we usually do:** 1. **Set-up** volleyball nets/courts. **Warm up** drills. **Play time**. 2. **Mixed games** (each team will have a mix of players of different playing level). This allows intermediate and beginners to learn from the the more experienced players. **Note:** Advanced players are NOT allowed to serve or spike hard. If they do, they may be asked to leave. 3. **Level-based games.** We will form teams based on skill level, so the more advanced players don't have to hold back any more and the more intermediate or beginners can practice what they've learned with other players of a similar playing level. 4. **Pack-up equipment.** Please don't leave any equipment, belongings or rubbish behind. **FREE event** We will provide the volleyball equipment, a bluetooth speaker (accepts USB sticks and memory cards) and the space to play. You BYO everything else (suitable clothes, footwear, water bottle (there are taps you can use to refill), sun protection, food, etc.). Since it is a public holiday, feel free to bring something extra (snacks, food, drinks) for yourself and/or to share - no pressure or obligation. **Location:** We play in the large flat open area opposite the Kiosk/Cafe (with toilets) and children's playground. These maps should help: * [Photo/map](https://www.meetup.com/volleyball-at-sydney-park/photos/33390251/512713637/) * [Google Maps](https://maps.app.goo.gl/8KHnSEGbQXHrHKnBA) See you at the park! *** By attending any of our events, you and your guests agree to our [Terms & Conditions](https://www.meetup.com/volleyball-at-sydney-park/pages/32605187/TERMS_AND_CONDITIONS/) Some basic T&C's: Everyone comes at their own risk. Neither the organisers nor any other attendee accepts any liability whatsoever. By your RSVP to this event, you acknowledge that you (and any guests) attend at your own risk, and will not hold anybody else responsible or liable. If your behaviour is not appropriate (aggressive, rude, disrespectful, etc.) we may ask to leave and/or remove you from our group.

MEETING: Circular Quay Wharf 2 🌸✈️🌸 TIME: 10:05 🌸⏰🌸 DETAILS: Catching the 10:15 ferry to Watsons Bay, then taking the Coastal walk all the way to Coogee via Diamond Bay, Bondi Beach, Tamarama, Gordon’s Bay and Dolphin Bay 🌸⛱🌸 LUNCH: Bondi Beach… there are cafes, but always better to BYO 🌸🍽🌸 COST:💲5️⃣ cash gratuity or (donation)for this walk.💵 🌸💲🌸 DISTANCE: 1️⃣4️⃣kms 🌸🦋🌸 THIS WALK IS GRADED AS: 👀 looking for whales with many vantage points, and it’s easy. 🌸☀️🌸 GET OUT POINTS: the entire way 🌸🚦🌸 TRANSPORT: Ferry to Watsons Bay, bus from Coogee beach in all directions 🌸✈️🌸 GENERAL HOUSEKEEPING: 🌸💃🌸 IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BRING A FRIEND PLEASE MESSAGE ME, unfortunately only the 2 legged kind, and not the 4 legged kind are included. 🌸🥰🌸 I am always open to suggestions if there is a destination/hike/walk you’d like to do…just message me 🌸 👣🌸 A heads up for newcomers and first timers. Our walking group is a fabulous Melting Pot of cultures, backgrounds, professions and life experiences. We love our Walks. We are INCLUSIVE OF EVERYONE………if you’re: kind, nice, fun, polite and respectful. 🌸😘🌸 On that note…. In recent times my walks are at capacity, which I’m capping at 40. Regulars, regardless of numbers are always welcome….just PM me if you’re on a waitlist. 🌸♥️🌸 We walk at a medium pace of 4kms per hour, stopping for breaks and to take in the views. It is a reasonable expectation that the group stays together. It is your responsibility to stay in line of sight. If you cannot walk at this pace, I will let you know of the next get out point. This is not negotiable. 🌸🐌🌸 As this is a walking group, bikes, ebikes, scooters, escooters, and pogo sticks are not compatible or welcome. 🌸👣🌸 Grading for my walks:
Easy: Mainly flat, suburban, loads of get out points, up to 14kms.
Easy-Medium: some stairs, a few uneven surfaces, up to 15kms.
Medium: Stairs, rocks, coastal beaches/sand, ups, downs, get out points limited, up to 17kms
Medium-Hard: uneven surfaces, need to take extreme care and be hike fit. Few get out points. Tracks, uneven surfaces, steep inclinations and limited resources. 🌸👯‍♀️🌸 WALKING GUIDELINES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 🌸✍️🌸 Carry sufficient food and water (2 litres) for the expected conditions of the walk. Pls don’t separate from the group, unless you let someone know, preferably me. The waitlist is completely discretionary….reliable regulars will ALWAYS be included. 🆗……….If you are a no show, you will not be welcome to join a future walk with me. (It’s a courtesy kind of thing). If people are on the waitlist, it is also very inconsiderate. Marking yourself as “Not Going” within 2 hours of departure does not allow reasonable time to notify anyone on the waitlist. 🌸🙅‍♀️🌸 On the odd occasion, the walk may change from the schedule, due to weather, unforeseen track obstacles OR emergency situations. 🌸🤞🌸 Please make sure your conversation is always courteous to other group members. 🌸😍🌸 PS…. IF YOUR ID PIC IS OF A COFFEE CUP, YOUR DOG OR CAT, A VIEW, and not a picture of you…You’ll stay waitlisted. 🌸❌🌸 SAFETY WARNING: Please stay away from cliff edges and be very careful when walking on wet and slippery rocks and surfaces. Stay within sight of the group at all times. 🌸🔴🟢⚫️🟠🔵🟡🟣🟤🌸 DISCLAIMER: Your health and safety is our priority, we take care to minimize risk and avoid accidents and injuries. However, Organizers and Hosts are not responsible for your health and safety and do not accept any liability for accidents and injuries that may occur during Meetup activities and events. Please take responsibility for your own safety and belongings. By RSVP to this event you and your guests agree to comply with the terms and conditions of the Aussie Explorers Meetup group which can be found in the link below: https://www.meetup.com/Aussie-Explorers/pages/28346396/Terms_and_Conditions_of_joining_Aussie_Explorers 🌸☀️🌸 HAPPY WALKING 🍃🌸🌿🌸🌿🌸🍃 xxLisa

If you don't do this, you will be moved to the "Not Going" list. 5. Please know that there is no permanent net/court set up at the park. We set it up at the start of each event, so don't expect to see the court when you arrive. Just be at the meeting spot ready to help set-up. 6. After the game, we need a team effort to pack up the equipment and to carry it back to the car. If you are not prepared to help, please do not join us. We only want team players, not selfish people. **Waitlists:** If your name is on the Waitlist, you do **NOT** have a spot. **A spot** **may become available to you up until midday** (even later) on the day of the event. Waitlists/allocated spots are now **discretionary** and not in order of response. This is to assist running the event as smoothly as possible for the organiser and the players & also to reward loyalty (members and regular players and those who turn up on time). **No-shows:** No shows are disrespectful towards the organiser and the other players (especially those on the waitlist) and will now be given 2 chances/warnings and banned on their 3rd "no-show". This includes yourself and any +1 guests you have reserved a spot for. To avoid a no-show, make sure you **update your RSVP before 9am** of the morning of the meetup (i.e. Sunday morning 9am). **This also applies to those on the Waitlist**. If you are on the waitlist, there is a chance you will be moved to the "Going" list, so if you will no longer attend, ensure you change your RSVP to "Not going" by 9am (day of event). **Questions:** If you have any questions, please ask. Note that the organiser(s) may be busy in the hours leading up to the event, so if you have any questions, please ask them early enough. Note that if your question has been addressed in this description and you simply have not bothered to read it, you may not get a response. And of course you won't know that if you haven't read this, but then who's fault is that? If this all makes sense and you agree, come join us for some good wholesome fun. See you at the park! **Location:** We play in the large flat open area opposite the Kiosk/Cafe (with toilets) and children's playground.
