2v2 Intermediate+ Beach Volley 💪

Join us for intermediate and advanced **indoor** 2v2 beach volleyball. We play in domes heated to at least 15C. If you are not yet at the intermediate level ([F1+](https://www.esv-muenchen-volleyball.de/niveaueinstufung)) or want to play 3v3/4v4, sign up via [the simultaneous event](https://www.meetup.com/berlin-volley/events/) instead. We play with beach rules: no open hands for the first or last touch, no touching the net, etc. We overbook slightly to ensure we have enough players and to let people take breaks. After playing, you can join us for socials with drinks and snacks at the bar area. We recommend arriving 10 minutes early so you have time to change and find the fields. If it is your first time, 15 minutes might be even better. You can join whatever court you like and move between courts during the event. We self-organize, so after a game, you can start a rematch, switch courts, or take a break as you see fit. Upon arrival, join the warm-up happening on one of the courts. **Join us for outdoor grass volleyball in Hasenheide park!** This event is not suitable for complete beginners. We play with two nets. The "chill court" is for mixed-level play with 3v3 up to 5v5. The "competitive court" is for higher-level 2v2 play with beach rules. Be sure to wear suitable sports clothing, and consider bringing a drink. **Location**: We play in the narrow clearing, located between the two paths in the center of Hasenheide park, on the southern side. We'll post updates in the WhatsApp group. **Facilities:** The park has no facilities such as changing rooms or showers. A nearby public toilet is also available, but it may be closed, dirty, or out of toilet paper. **RSVP**: Add yourself to the waitlist, even if others are already on it. The waitlist is not chronological, so even if there are 30 people on there, you still have a chance! If you get a spot, you will be moved to the attending list and notified by Meetup. This is a free event with limited space. **If you can't make it, promptly update your RSVP to NO** so others can take your place. The currently advertised hike lasts approximately **3 hours** and takes participants through birch forest and open tundra towards official border markers. Think beautiful autumn forests, a spectacular treetop walkway, panoramic views and the atmospheric ruins of a historic sanatorium. And don’t worry, we’re keeping it easy! Who Lives in the Woods? Watercolour Workshop

Over four Tuesday evenings, we’ll meet four different woodland animals and explore a new way of painting each one with watercolour. Every week, we’ll look closely at one animal and use it as an opportunity to learn and practise different watercolour techniques. Some paintings will be more realistic, others more loose or abstract — the idea is to discover how many different ways watercolour can describe an animal. We’ll also look at a selection of picture books and discover how different artists have interpreted and painted animals in their own unique ways. We always work **step by step**, starting with the basics: observing how water and colour interact, experimenting with colour effects, and learning how to control — and sometimes let go of — the water. Then we’ll build our animals from simple shapes, exploring different effects and practising textures such as fur, feathers, and other details that make each animal unique. Silent Reading Club

Ditch the old book club, where everyone has to read the same book...this is better! It works like this: Bring your own book. Come chat, have some tea or coffee, get to know your neighbors. Then we quietly read together, side by side, for about one hour, each one reading their own book, and afterwards we talk with each other about what we are reading. The usual agenda: - Arrival and introduction (~20 minutes) - ⁠Silent reading (~1 hour) - ⁠Discussion (~30-40 minutes) - ⁠Join us for a bite at a local restaurant afterwards, if you like! You may read in any language, you may read any book. We are a group of international residents of Berlin from many different countries, of all ages, and we converse in English. We welcome you!
