We are camping at the beautiful Basingstoke Canal in a very scenic part of Hampshire on the last weekend of the Farnborough Air Show. The flight path of the airshow usually passes over the campsite. Friday: For early arrivals we will enjoy a short walk through the woods and parkland to Frimley Green and on to the Kingfisher on the quay for lakeside views and refreshments, returning to the campground for evening relaxation. Saturday: There will be an 8-mile walk through the Blackwater Valley to the aqueduct and return via North Camp for a refreshment break. Then follow the Basingstoke Canal back to camp where we plan an evening barbecue. Sunday: There will be a short walk to the Keogh Barracks military museum (free entry). There are canoes and rowing boats to hire at the visitor centre for trips on the canal. Refreshments There is a cafe on site and walking distance to Harvester and Thai food pub. There will be stops on the walk and a pub stop on Saturday lunchtime. There are local shops nearby and large supermarkets in Farnborough. Travel North Camp is nearest station.
