# Explore the Hellenic Museum – Greek Art, History & Culture Join me for a relaxed morning at the Hellenic Museum, Australia's only museum dedicated to Greek art, history and culture. Spread over two storeys and ten exhibitions, it takes you from ancient antiquities to contemporary works — science, philosophy, democracy and the stories that connect us all, 8,000 years in the making. We'll meet at the museum reception at 10:00am to say hello, grab our tickets together, then explore the exhibitions at our own pace. It's an easy, low-key way to spend a Saturday morning and chat to some friendly people along the way. This is a casual social meetup so we can head along together — it isn't run by, affiliated with or endorsed by the Hellenic Museum. You buy your own admission at reception on the day, and an RSVP here doesn't include entry. Afterwards, anyone who'd like to is welcome to stay on longer or join an optional lunch nearby. **Who this is for** * Anyone curious about Greek history, art and culture — no background needed * People who enjoy museums at a gentle, unhurried pace * Solo attendees are very welcome; this is a great one to come along to on your own and meet people **Links** * Meetup start point: https://maps.app.goo.gl/GBYTYPuqn7MbMo9cA * Hellenic Museum: https://www.hellenic.org.au/ * Pricing & FAQs: https://www.hellenic.org.au/contact-support/faqs **Timeline** * 10:00am – Meet at the Hellenic Museum reception and say hello * 10:15am – Buy tickets and start exploring the exhibitions * 12:15pm – Meetup wraps up (feel free to stay longer if you're enjoying it) * Afterwards – Optional lunch nearby for anyone keen **Tickets / cost** * The Hellenic Museum currently lists admission as General $16 and Concession $10. * Concession pricing applies to students, healthcare card holders, seniors and pensioners with valid ID. * The museum notes that tickets aren't available online, so we'll buy admission at reception when we arrive. **Transport** The museum is at 280 William Street, Melbourne, directly opposite Flagstaff Station. Any City Loop train to Flagstaff works, or Tram Routes 30, 35 and 58. **Bring** * A card or cash for your admission (and lunch, if you stay) * Your curiosity — and questions welcome * Any valid concession ID if that applies to you **Expect** * Difficulty: Easy — indoors and at your own pace * Pace: Relaxed, plenty of time to wander * Vibe: Friendly, curious and low-pressure * Group style: A casual social group exploring together, not a guided tour **Important notes** * Photography is allowed for personal enjoyment only and without flash — please follow the museum's signage and staff instructions. * Please be respectful of the exhibits and other visitors while we're there. * If your plans change, please update your RSVP so numbers stay clear for everyone.
