Welcome to the North Melbourne Canvas Connections. This is a recurring space for members of the Beginner Artists Society to step away from the solitude of the home studio and work alongside others in a relaxed, low-pressure environment. Whether you are currently navigating a specific project or just want to dedicate a few hours to practicing your skills, this is a place to share ideas and enjoy the company of fellow creators. The session is open to anyone who identifies as a beginner and is looking for a consistent time and place to sit down and create. There is no formal instruction or strict agenda; instead, we focus on providing a quiet, supportive atmosphere where you can experiment with your medium, exchange tips, and simply focus on the process. Bring whatever materials you are currently working with and join us for a productive afternoon. If you have been meaning to prioritize your creative practice but struggle to find the time at home, please consider joining us this time around. Are you looking for a welcoming space to get creative, meet new people and enjoy some time doing what you love? **Then please join us for the very first Bayside Rainbow Creatives** designed as a relaxed monthly arts and crafts gathering for **LGBTQIA+ adults and allies**, bringing people together through creativity, conversation and community connection. Whether you love painting, drawing, knitting, crafting or simply want to try something new, everyone is welcome! Bring along your own creative project, explore new ideas, take inspiration from an optional creative prompt or simply enjoy a chat while getting creative. There's no pressure, no expectations and absolutely no experience needed. This isn't a formal art class, it's a friendly, inclusive space where you can create at your own pace, share ideas and connect with like-minded people. **THEME** At this Deep Work event we'll explore **The Aesthetic Advantage** \- how we are all artists at heart\. The Aesthetic Advantage invites us to see ourselves as craftspeople, whatever our job title: bringing care, beauty and excellence to every detail, even the ones no one will ever see. **TIMING** \*Please arrive by 7:00PM for a 7:15PM start. The event will conclude at 8:45PM. **SETUP** You will be seated in small groups of about 5 people. We encourage you to sit with people that you don't yet know. :) **TICKETS** Tickets are $20. 'GENESIS' - The Generative AI Filmmaker's Networking Event

**Welcome to 'GENESIS' - The Generative AI Filmmaking Networking Event!** ***THIS MAY BE A LIMITED EVENT - PLEASE MAKE SURE TO RSVP.*** This group is for individuals interested in exploring the intersection of generative AI technology and movie making. Whether you're a filmmaker eager to discuss movie production, a technician looking to collaborate, or simply wishing to learn more and discuss AI in film, this group is for you! Join us at the Emporium food court (located behind Grill’d Burger Restaurant in the CBD, not near Melbourne Station) to discuss AI technologies, workflows, productions, AI ethics, government responsibility and more. After 7pm, we continue the evening with Happy Hour drinks at a nearby bar and a chance to grab dinner together. Feel free to bring friends interested in AI filmmaking; it’s a great way to introduce new faces to our expanding network. RSVP to help us gauge attendance and become part of a growing network of film professionals and enthusiasts. Though the event begins in the afternoon, the relationships you build here can last well into the night and beyond. At 7 PM, we move to The Carlton Club, a five-minute walk away, where we continue networking in a more formal rooftop setting over drinks and food. The Melbourne Canvas and Community Collaborative Sessions are all about getting away from the pressure of making something perfect and just enjoying the process of creating alongside others. We hold these sessions for anyone in the Beginner Artists Society who wants a relaxed, low-stakes environment to work on their projects, swap ideas, or simply enjoy the company of fellow hobbyists. Whether you are picking up a brush for the first time or are just looking for a regular space to get some practice in, you will find a welcoming group here. We provide a casual, quiet space where you can bring whatever you are currently working on. It is a collaborative atmosphere, so feel free to ask for feedback, share tips, or just keep to yourself and paint. The goal is to build a steady community of local artists who can support each other's progress over time. If you have been looking for a reason to set aside a few hours for your own creativity, we would love to have you join us. Knitting and Crocheting with Conversation and Coffee at Kindred Studios

**Description**: Join me to knit or crochet in the warm, friendly environment of Kindred Studios where we can share our skills and ideas. Knitters, crocheters and crafters of all abilities are welcome. The conversation is relaxed as we work on our projects together and it's a great way to make new friends. The Bass Note Cafe is within the studios and will bring great coffee and delicious snacks to our table. **Agenda**: I'll meet you at 10.00am inside Kindred Studios at the large table near the tiered seating. We have the space available until 12.00pm. **Location**: Kindred Studios 3 Harris St Yarraville Street parking is available nearby in Harris, Cowper, Hyde and Whitehall Streets. There are large red signs on the footpath to guide you to Kindred Studios. If you are coming by train take the Williamstown/Werribee line to Seddon Station. Artsy Afternoon @ O3Space ✨

Join us for a chill artsy afternoon, bring any art supplies you like 👩‍🎨🎨📝✨ Access to O3Space requires you to have the minimum ( FREE! ) membership that you sign up for when you download their app. Simply download the O3Space app, create a profile and use the QR code at the gate to enter/exit the building. The gate is located inside the tram on the right side of the cafe ☕️🚊 The free membership allows you in the building for up to 3 hours per week, if you go over they might charge you so make sure to use the QR code on your way out!! Becoming Zen with CSS

From tables, to floats, to flex, to grid, from Bootstrap to Tailwind to CSS modules and more, CSS has evolved and changed a lot over the years. Whether creating a design system or just trying to center a button, CSS is a powerful and often misunderstood part of software development. In this session we will go back to basics, learning the fundamentals of CSS and applying them in your very own CSS Zen Garden project. CSS Zen Garden was introduced in 2013, all designs start with the same HTML file and rely on just the power of CSS to make unique and eye catching designs. No experience with CSS or HTML or code is required. Currently we have part-time hosts and regulars who will turn up and sit together. EVERYONE, please keep a look out for newly arriving people in the group and make them feel welcome, especially if they say: Are you with the writing group? If you arrive first and have an A4 piece of paper, it is a good idea to write on the paper: Writing Group. This way everyone will find each other. Bring your writing tools, and anything that you have written recently (optional). Remember your earphones if you like to listen to music while you write. There are no rules :) You can write. Or you can chat and write. You can share your work. Or not share your work. (If you need silence to concentrate then headphones are a good idea considering it is in a public space.)
