Building Your Collector Circle

Building Your Collector Circle

Sun, Jun 14, 2:00 PM
From Berlin Art Workshops
4.4

Berlin-based art curator and educator Jenia Yanes invites emerging and mid-career artists to two transformative workshops designed for the realities of the 2026 art world. Kunstraum Heartspace is pleased to invite you to the next pair of workshops with curator Jenia Yanes. This new series is dedicated to the external architecture of an artistic practice: the first workshop (on June 14) focuses on collector circles and long-term relationships, the second (on June 21) on image, reputation, audience, and public communication. ## 14.06.2026 Building Your Collector Circle A practical workshop on collector psychology, identifying and approaching your potential collectors, and building a long-term collector circle around your work using professional strategies adapted from galleries and dealers, so you can hold far more control over your career and sales. **Most artists have no real understanding of who their collector could be, how to recognise that person, where to find them, how to approach them, or how long-term relationships around an artwork are actually built.** Sales happen randomly, through acquaintances, occasional commissions, or vague luck, while the artist remains dependent on accident and has very little real control over the professional and financial side of the practice. We will speak about different types of collectors, how to understand who your work is actually for, how to stop treating “the collector” as an abstract fantasy, how to begin forming a real circle of people around your work, how artists can use open studios, personal invitations, conversation, follow-up, and targeted relationship-building more intelligently, and how sales at a higher level are built through trust, context, and long-term human contact. **This workshop is for artists who:** * want to understand how collector relationships are actually built instead of relying on random sales or chance encounters; * want to have more control over the commercial side of their practice instead of depending entirely on intermediaries; * feel that their work could resonate with the right people, but have no clear system for identifying, approaching, and building relationships with them; * want a more concrete and professional understanding of how sales happen around serious artistic work. **[Please book your tickets here with Jenia Yanes.](https://jeniayanes.com/products/the-artist-collector-circle-public-image-reputation-and-audience-intensive?pr_prod_strat=e5_desc&pr_rec_id=9adabe939&pr_rec_pid=15608479187292&pr_ref_pid=15413290369372&pr_seq=uniform)** **You can attend in person or online.**

Berlin Color Hunt Photo Challenge

Berlin Color Hunt Photo Challenge

Sun, Jun 14, 10:00 AM
From Berlin Street Photography Challenge!
4.8

Hello challengers, For those who missed last month’s incredibly popular Trend Color Hunt Challenge, I’ll be hosting the workshop again due to high demand. In this workshop, we’ll go beyond simply taking photos, we’ll train your eye to see color with intention and use it as a powerful storytelling tool. Instead of focusing on subjects alone, this challenge invites you to explore Berlin through a single lens: **color**. You’ll be split into small groups and assigned a specific color. Your mission is to hunt for it, frame it, and bring it to life through a series of images. By the end, each group will become the storyteller of their color across the city. Along the way, you’ll learn how to use color not just as an aesthetic, but as a way to guide attention, create emotion, and build stronger compositions. Learn to see, compose, and tell stories through color using contrast, simplicity, and creative interpretation. 🧠 **How the Challenge Works** * You’ll be split into groups of **2–3 people** * Each group is assigned **one color** * You’ll have **\~60 minutes** to explore and shoot * Your goal: capture a small series of images that represent your color in Berlin **A Social Experience** As much as this is a photography group, it’s about connection and community. Within your group, you’ll collaborate, explore, and share perspectives. Whether you’re experienced or just starting out, this is a space to meet creatives that can learn from each other. 🎒 **What to Bring** • Your Camera – DSLR, mirrorless, or smartphones are allowed • Comfortable Clothing – We’ll be walking and exploring • Curiosity and open mindedness – Be ready to observe differently and go out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself! I’ll also compile the results into curated series like: **“Berlin in Red” \| “Berlin in Green” \| “Berlin in Blue”** Selected photos will be featured on our Instagram community. 💸 **Cost** **€10** – collected after the session or pre-pay via PayPal to secure your spot. Maximum limit of 55 participants. 🌱 **Why Join?** ✅ Experience Berlin in a completely new way ✅ Learn how to use color as a storytelling tool ✅ Build confidence shooting in real environments ✅ Meet and connect with creatives in Berlin ✅ Get featured in our growing photography community 🎁 **Exclusive Benefits for Donors** • Private WhatsApp Group Access • Instagram Features • Personalized Feedback • Bonus Meetups • Resource Library (tips, recaps, guides) 📷 WhatsApp Group: [https://chat.whatsapp.com/LxEb41NmxyK4oRJeM9o2KW](https://chat.whatsapp.com/LxEb41NmxyK4oRJeM9o2KW) 💸 Donate: [https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=W77YS88G5W8ZL](https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=W77YS88G5W8ZL) 📸 Instagram: [https://www.instagram.com/berlinphotochallenge](https://www.instagram.com/berlinphotochallenge)

English guided tour in our Historic S-Bahn from 1928 - the 1st ever!

Sat, Jun 20, 8:55 AM
From Historic S-Bahn Berlin

On Saturday 20th June 2026 for the first time ever we offer rides with an “English carriage” in our historic train from 1928, where a guide will address you in English, as we noticed an increasing number of international guests over the past year – see the link [https://hisb.de/veranstaltungen/aktuelles/463-stadtrundfahrten-im-juni.html](https://hisb.de/veranstaltungen/aktuelles/463-stadtrundfahrten-im-juni.html). Tours 1 starts 10.55 at Ostbahnhof, and will have the English guide in coach 3, so English visitors are asked to select “Wagen 3” in Fahrt 1 via Reservix - [https://ticketshop-historische-s-bahn-ev.reservix.de/p/reservix/group/540123](https://ticketshop-historische-s-bahn-ev.reservix.de/p/reservix/group/540123) \- The ride on the historic S\-Bahn train begins at Ostbahnhof on Track 10\, from where we first head via the Stadtbahn\, Charlottenburg and Grunewald to Wannsee\. There\, we change direction and return via the Wannseebahn and the North\-South S\-Bahn Tunnel \(the route of S1\) to Nordbahnhof\, where our journey ends at 12\.30\. Tickets cost 20€ adults\, 9€ kids under 14\. ## About us We are Historische S-Bahn Berlin e.V., a voluntary association of more than 300 inscribed members who takes care of a collection of historic S-Bahn trains from S-Bahn Berlin - see our website [www.hisb.de.](http://www.hisb.de./) Our voluntary team of around 50 hyperactive train-maniacs has worked hard not only to preserve the trains, but to make sure that we are now able, since 2023, to run again regular rides through Berlin with carriages from 1928 and 1938. Since then we have revived the popular annual Christmas- and Easter-trains, and introduced a “Halloween-train” in 2025, plus offering regular historical tours. We also have a collection of around 30 historic coaches, which are stored in the S-Bahn depot at Erkner where we offer regular open days. We are an entirely voluntary charity (gemeinnütziger Verein) who do not receive subsidy or other subventions to maintain, rebuild and get on track again the historic S-Bahn coaches and to maintain this iconic Berlin heritage accessible for the future - so join us and support us!

Just a heads up: **The cafe only accepts card payments for amounts over €10**, so you may want to bring some cash for smaller orders. Please remember to cancel your participation in good time if you are not coming. This will give someone else enough time to read the book and come to the meeting.
