[DJ Basics](https://learn.soundcollective.com/courses/dj-basics-free-workshop/) is a free, hands-on 2-hour workshop that gives you a real introduction to what DJing actually involves. Hosted in our NYC studios, the session covers the core fundamentals: how DJs read a track, control tempo, cue the next song, and move between records without breaking the energy. A professional DJ walks you through the basics on industry-standard gear, then puts you behind the decks to try it yourself. ​This is not a lecture or a feature tour. It is a genuine first session with real DJs, built to give you an honest read on whether DJing is a craft you want to pursue further. Small-group format with guided instruction and open practice time. No experience or prerequisites required. The Friday Improv Jam ($10 IN PERSON)

At this improv jam, ALL who show up are welcome to take the stage and perform improv... or you can watch in a fun and supportive environment! The jam will consist of 2-person scenes, group scenes, and either short sets as a group or a fun game to end the jam. You'll have a chance to randomly play with different people and even some veteran improvisers! Participate as much or as little as you would like. Or simply come and watch! If you're think you're ready, you're ready! All scenes will be inspired by a suggestion of a random word from the audience.
