Filming Monarch Butterflies

We are going to film monarch butterflies! Every year, monarch butterflies gather here to prepare for their extraordinary southbound migration to Mexico. Late August is the peak time to see that transition, offering rare opportunities to film colorful close-ups, aerial courtships, and, with some luck, the first signs of their epic mass migration. Other possible sightings include swallows and great blue herons.

Staying Close to Home..Doris Mcarthy Trail

Location: 201 Guildwood Pkwy (The pin for the location is acting up so go by the address please!) We have been far and wide this summer from Italy to Tofino BC including the west coast trail. Now it's time to stay close to home! **Get to know the waterfront with Angie and get one of the last swims of the summer in!** Doris McCarthy Trail has beautiful views of the water and lots of wildlife. This is mostly flat except the beginning which includes a bit of a steep hill. It takes approximately 10 minutes to walk down to the lake and after that the route goes east and west along the water. Bring a bathing suit if you want to jump in - this is a perfect Sunday hike. Distance is about 13km.

Join us for a relaxed **sunset walk through Glen Stewart Ravine**, followed by ice cream and a stroll along the Beach Boardwalk as the sun goes down. We’ll start at **Main Station** and make our way through the neighbourhood toward Glen Stewart Ravine. After enjoying the ravine and the fall colours, we’ll stop at **Ed’s Real Scoop** for ice cream. 🍦 Then we'll head toward the lake and walk along the **Beach Boardwalk**, taking in the evening light, the water, and the changing colours of the season. We'll finish at **Woodbine Beach**, where we'll take a little time to enjoy the sunset before wrapping up. This is a **short, easy walk of about 90 minutes**.
