Any skill level is welcome (even if you’ve never been on a unicycle before). Participation is free, but a voluntary donation to Circus Center is recommended. If you don’t have your own unicycle or don’t bring it, then Circus Center will provide one for you to use at these practices. **SAFETY** -Do not attend if you feel sick -Protective gear (helmet, elbow pads, wrist guards, gloves, knee/shin guards, ankle braces, etc.) is highly recommended **REQUIREMENTS** -All ages are welcome, but anyone under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult at all times -Everyone who comes to these practices is required to take at least one unicycle class at Circus Center with Ying Ying Zhao (this doesn’t necessarily have to be before your first practice session) -Paper waiver needs to be signed before participating (this will be provided) -QR code for voluntary donation will be provided **RULES FOR PRACTICING AT CIRCUS CENTER** -If you’re wearing street shoes and/or are bringing your own unicycle, then you must wipe your shoes and unicycle tire with a towel (this will be provided) before stepping on the mats -Helmet is required if you want to do anything other than riding or practicing tricks on a flat surface (hopping onto/off of objects, etc.)

The Bicycle Trails Council of East Bay invites you to **JOIN US SATURDAY AUGUST 29th** for a coastal ride to escape the last summer heat! Join us for beautiful coastal scenery (and elevation) **AT** **TENNESSEE VALLEY!** Known for its extended climbs and epic ocean views the scenery is to die for with some groups checking out the beach, the blue whale skeleton or even a bunker or two. Regardless TV makes for a great summer time getaway destination. Meet at the Tennessee Valley Trailhead at 9am. This a popular spot and tight on parking in the lot proper, but there are usually plenty of spots on the side of the road to park as you get closer to the trailhead. As such we generally self-select into 3 skill levels of riders: the beginner group, group C, will ride around 10 miles and 1900 ft of elevation gain; The intermediate group, group B, will ride around 14 miles and 2300 of elevation gain; the advanced group, group A, will ride around 20 miles and 3500 ft of elevation gain. In the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, the Marin Headlands, a wonderful looping hikes with lagoons, beaches, and views of the city, a rocky cove and the pacific coast. Love the feeling of Tennessee Valley, a relaxing walk along the Lagoon out to the beach. The hike really begins after you go up a steep climb, approx. 600 feet, on the north side of the Valley to the Coastal Fire Road, and then go on to a plateau at the Coastal Trail, with views over the valley and the Pacific Ocean. After moving along the Coastal Trial, you have a small out and back down a rocky climb to Pirates Cove, a cool small inlet beach with large rock outcrops, well worth the effort. You then go along the Coastal trail enjoying views of the Pacific Ocean on your left and reach a plateau overlooking the coast and Muir Beach. **Level:** Intermediate Plus (Long Steep Hills) **Total Distance:** 8.6 miles loop **Hiking Time:** 3.5 - 4 hours **Elevation:** Approx. 600 feet from Tennessee Valley beach to Coastal Trail Bluff, Total Elevation Change: 1268 feet. **Information:** Free Parking lot and along the road, No Dogs even on leash are allowed, Pit bathroom at trailhead and at base of the hill, no water. **Maps:** https://www.nps.gov/goga/planyourvisit/maps.htm http://www.parksconservancy.org/assets/park-improvements/pdfs/marin-headlands-map.pdf **GPS Coordinates for Trailhead** Latitude: N 37°51'37.69" Longitude: W -122°32'8.71" **Meeting Point:** Drive to the end of Tennessee Valley Road to Tennessee Valley Trail Head Parking Lot, 591 Tennessee Valley Road, Mill Valley, parking can fill up quick, park along the road. Bathrooms are located at the trailhead. We will meet at the Picnic Table on grass at the start of parking lot. **Directions:** From US 101 in Marin County, take the CA 1/Shoreline Highway exit. After about 0.5 mile, turn left onto Tennessee Valley Road. Go about 1.5 miles to the parking lot at the end of the road **Hiking Directions:** Start Tennessee Valley Trail Head, through Tennessee Valley Gate, straight along Tennessee Valley Trail, at the fork stay left through the marsh trail to the beach (Short Break and Photo at Beach), then take the upper Tennessee Valley Trail, just after the Restroom at junction, Right up hill on the Coastal trail, at bluff (Lunch Break), then Left along the Coastal trail, at the bottom of the stairs you reach a bend, that is the out and back to Pirates Cove, climb down to Pirates cove and then back up, then continue Left North on the Coastal trail, Junction with Muir beach, another out and back to a bluff overlooking the Coast and Muir beach, then back straight up the Coastal Fire Road, at the top, Right a short ways and take, Left down Fox Trail, Left at the bottom on Tennessee Valley Trail back to the Parking Lot. **Carpooling Link: (Sign up here)** https://www.groupcarpool.com/t/p0h8i9 **Carpooling Procedures:** No negotiating your carpool in the comments, this would be sending multiple emails to everyone.
