Jordan and Petra Ultimate Adventure

Cue the theme song and sing it enthusiastically as you read on about your Jordan adventure. **KING’S HIGHWAY CANYON EXPLORING AND SWIMMING** Your adventure kicks off along the King’s Highway, which you’ll travel before exploring one of the most beautiful canyons on earth. Swim through milky blue waters beneath towering basalt canyon walls. Then cozy up with your new Explorer Chick besties at an eco-lodge within the boundaries of Dana Nature Reserve. **JORDAN TRAIL HIKING AND GLAMPING** The following morning, you’ll wake to trek 5 miles along one of the most scenic sections of the Jordan Trail to arrive at Little Petra. En route, you’ll be able to see into Israel and learn about the biblical significance of the trail by our local guide. That night, you’ll relax under the stars at an authentic Bedouin camp in a comfortable glamping site with a bed and mattress. **PETRA TOUR** The next day, you’ll journey to Petra on foot over the course of 9 miles. The hike might seem long, but you’ll be rewarded by entering Petra through a back entrance before exploring the narrow slot canyons and caves deep within the vast UNESCO World Heritage site. On your second day in Petra, our local guide will take us on a super-secret hike with stunning views known only by the locals (Shhhhh! Don’t tell the tourists!). **WADI RUM DESERT TOUR AND BEDOUIN CAMP** After our time in Petra, we’ll venture to Wadi Rum, the Arabic word for “dry river bed” aka where Matt Damon grew his doo-doo potatoes in The Martian. The Wadi Rum desert is unlike anything else on Earth! Protected by the National Park, this area is devoid of man-made architecture and influence. Instead, the nomadic Bedouin people thrive on what the Earth provides and call Wadi Rum their home. Lucky for us, the Bedouins will welcome us into their communities and share some of their favorite hiking trails. Spend two nights under more breathtaking stars in another authentic Bedouin camp. Your home will be a raised canvas tent complete with a bed and local decor. **JEEP SAFARI TOUR TO MOUNTAIN ROCK SCRAMBLE AND DESERT CAMEL RIDE** While in Wadi Rum, board a Jeep to safari to Burdah Mountain and take on a challenging 3-4 hour scramble to reach the famous Burdah Rock Bridge. If you’re feeling intrepid, inch out to the middle of an arch that stands 900 feet high. Catch your last sunset in Wadi Rum on the back of a camel as you enjoy a bucket-list desert experience. **DEAD SEA SWIM AND JORDANIAN COOKING CLASS** On your final full day, we’ll journey to the lowest place on the earth—The Dead Sea. Backpacking @Castle Rock Trail Camp - 2-Night Trip

This is a relaxed two-night backpacking trip at Castle Rock State Park, ideal for beginner backpackers or anyone looking for a low-mileage weekend outdoors. We'll hike about 2.6 miles from the main parking area to Castle Rock Trail Camp via the Saratoga Gap Trail. The route is short, but expect normal backpacking conditions, including uneven and rocky sections while carrying your own gear. Once at camp, we'll have plenty of time to settle in, relax, and explore the nearby trails, sandstone formations, forest, and ridge views. The trail camp has picnic tables, vault toilets, trash receptacles. **Please carry all the water you'll need. The water source at the camp is not functional.** Please respond to all questions when you RSVP. This will be a small group, and your spot is confirmed only after you receive a confirmation from me. Please be specific if you can only attend with a carpool. **Dates:** Friday, September 18 to Sunday, September 20 **Trail:** \~5.2 miles minimum round trip, with optional exploring from camp **Plan:** Two nights at Castle Rock Trail Camp, relaxed pace, nearby hiking, and camp time **Difficulty:** Easy/Moderate backpacking, but you must be able to carry your own overnight gear over uneven trail. Especially water for couple of days. **Group size:** Small group; park limit is 6 people per campsite **Parking:** One overnight vehicle is included. We'll coordinate carpools because extra vehicles cost $10 per night. Overnight parking is only in the designated trail-camp lot, with check-in at the Robert C. Kirkwood entrance **Trip Cost:** 10$ per person for the whole trip **Trip confirmation:** Your participation is confirmed after you have answered the pre-req questions, made the payment, and received a confirmation from me You'll need your own backpacking gear, food, water, and the 10 essentials. We must reach camp before sunset. No dogs, smoking, or bikes on the trail. Cell service is likely unavailable in the backcountry. As always - respect the wilderness, follow Leave No Trace principles, and use good trail etiquette. If you're unfamiliar with Leave No Trace, please read up on it before the trip. Roaming Lake Merced and the Dunes

This is a route we did about eighteen months ago, and I wanted to try it again. We start off in the Lakeshore district, close to the zoo, pass across Lake Merced, and tackle the dunes between Fort Funston and Great Highway. This roam is pretty flat, but we will have a fair amount of sand and dirt to traverse. *Bringing water, snacks, and layers for all the microclimates is the way to go.* *These roams are offered by donation. They are one way I am able to pay my rent in San Francisco.* *Punctuality is always appreciated, for the sake of everybody's time. Please send a message on the app before the start if you are running late, and we will either wait (up to ten minutes) of I will direct you on how to catch up. Once we get underway I have to focus on those who are there, and most likely won't respond.* *Generally half the people who sign up don't actually show up on the day. I do track flakiness and remove people who have a poor attendance record. Acadia Hiking And Coastal Maine Adventure

### Exploration, Exhilaration, And Eleanor! Get ready for non-stop whiffs of sweet pine as you hike the startingly beautiful coastlines of Maine and Acadia National Park. This 7-day women’s trip takes you far away from a world where everyone needs you… and it includes a sneaky visit into Canada. It all starts in Portland, Maine where we rendezvous, exchange bff necklaces, and hop in the SHE-nanigan Shuttle to our first hike… which is THE best hike. We’ll scale the famous iron rungs of The Beehive, peer into the crystal-clear waters of Bowl Pond, and gape at stunning shoreline cliffs as we explore Gorham Mountain and Sand Beach. Next we’ll scramble the summits of The Bubbles, eat our body weight in seafood in Bar Harbor, and spend an entire day exploring Acadia via sea kayak. Bald eagles, porpoises, otters, and seals send their love and may even pose for a photo thanks to the glorious nature freaks leading our aqua-safari. We’ll tiptoe into the quietside of Acadia, where crowds never reach. And you’ll get your unmissable photo of Somesville Bridge, dammit! At the end of each day, you’ll rest your gorgeous head at our epic Glampsite. Enjoy real beds, ensuite bathrooms, hot showers, good coffee, and the best laughs of your life. Leave the cooking and the backcountry picnics to us.
