Join us for our new fall series for 2026 - BOARDGAME FRIDAY! This is a great place to meet new people, make new friends and play some fun games. Come with a group or by yourself! There will be games like Catan, Avalon, Ticket to Ride, Uno, Monopoly, Cards Against Humanity and more! **The restaurant, Aifam, will be giving out a free alcoholic drink of your choice (Wine or Beer) with the purchase of each sandwich!** Address: 102 Harbord St, Toronto, ON M5S 1G6 (Please head downstairs! It is below Almond Butterfly) **This event has an entry fee of $15 to be paid via cash or tap. This is an opportunity to meet up for some LGBTQ2IA-flavoured gaming and socializing—allies also welcome. Come for the gaming, socializing, not to mention One Star's Hot Dog menu! :) Be sure to invite friends and such, too. Although Fred, your amiable host, starts the event at 3pm, feel free to drop in early as One Star opens at 2pm! You'll have access to a robust library of board games, and attendees are welcome to bring their own games. There is no event fee. Instead we ask attendees to purchase beverages or food from the venue since they are offering us their space for free. We provide nametag stickers with a pronoun field; we want this to be a comfortable environment for everyone, kindly respect people's listed or stated pronouns. If you are unsure of someone's pronouns, don't assume: Ask, Respect and Practice Definitely ask before taking pictures/videos. One Star is NOT an accessible space as the washrooms are down stairs. Board Games & Chill

Toronto is a busy city, so this meetup is mainly about socializing, unwinding, and making new friends in a relaxed and fun environment. I personally enjoy playing board games, but you’re welcome to do any activity you like during the event, such as drawing, doing puzzles, playing video games, or just coming over to chat with people. Although this event is posted in a language exchange group, it is not specifically focused on language exchange. Everyone is welcome, regardless of background or language level, as long as you enjoy socializing, doing activities together, and treating each other with respect. I’ll be bringing several board games myself. If you’re curious about what games I have, or there’s a specific game you’d like me to bring, feel free to message me in advance. You're also welcome to bring your own favorite board games and teach others how to play—we'd love to learn and discover new games together!
