Toronto Virtual Reality Meetup

Curious about virtual reality, already exploring the metaverse, or thinking about buying your first headset? The Toronto Virtual Reality Meetup is a welcoming local community for VR users of all experience levels. Whether you use a Meta Quest, Apple Vision Pro, PlayStation VR2, HTC Vive, Valve Index, Pico, another PC VR headset, or simply explore VR-compatible experiences through your computer or mobile device, you are welcome to join us. You do not need to own a headset to attend. Meet other VR enthusiasts from across Toronto and discuss favourite apps, games, social spaces, creative tools, fitness experiences, productivity uses, and emerging technologies. Members can share recommendations and experiences from platforms such as VRChat, Meta Horizon Worlds, Bigscreen, Rec Room, SteamVR, Spatial, and other virtual worlds. Possible discussion topics include: • Favourite VR games, apps, and social experiences • Choosing a headset and getting started with VR • Virtual events, movies, fitness, art, music, and education • Creating avatars, worlds, games, and virtual content • Mixed reality and spatial computing • Meeting other Toronto VR users online and in person • Where virtual reality, augmented reality, and the metaverse may be heading The goal is to build a friendly Toronto-based community where beginners, casual users, developers, creators, and experienced VR explorers can exchange ideas, discover new experiences, and connect with others interested in the future of immersive technology. Bring your questions, recommendations, and curiosity. All levels and platforms are welcome.

Casual Board Games and Pub Social After

The Board Games event is a fun, sociable and charitable event We are a fun, friendly and kind group of people mostly in our 20s, 30s and 40s. Beginners are welcome! We are a very inclusive and social group and we teach people how to play games they have not played before :) We provide a variety of 40+ board games. The games usually take 5 or 10 minutes to learn and 30 to 60 minutes to play. Play in French: On the last Friday of the month, we're offering a table where the games are played in French. Anyone with an intermediate level of French who wants to practice while playing is welcome to join. Just ask for Philippe when you arrive. **Time** *Board Games Start time: 630pm - Board Games end time: 10pm *Eat / Drink/ Socialise at a nearby pub afterwards **Location** 30 Leeds St, Toronto, ON M6G 3R8 (Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Holy Protection) The entrance to the board game room is at the back of the Church. There is a sign on the door that says BOARD GAMES GROUP. Please use the map provided on the event page also. Payment **There are two ways to pay** **10 by Cash - coins are not accepted. Only bills.**** **11.55 by Debit/Credit card **Charity Donations** - This is a not-for-profit initiative. Revenue go towards covering costs of the event including venue, insurance marketing, refreshments and board games. Any surplus revenue is donated to charity **Food and drink** *Everyone will get cookies/candy for free - Cups will be provided for tap water *Bring your own food and drink. - Please do not bring CHIPS AND CRACKERS as they make a mess and are greasy ***ALCOHOL IS PROHIBITED AND WE HAVE A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY ON THIS - there are no second chances** Photos will be taken at the event and posted publicly for marketing purposes. Queer Gayme Dive (DATE CHANGE)

This is an opportunity to meet up for some LGBTQ2IA-flavoured gaming and socializing—allies also welcome. Come for the gaming, socializing, and the drinks! :) Be sure to invite friends and such, too. We’ll be in the larger area towards the back. Event officially runs from 4pm to 7pm, at which point we start to pack away the games, clearing up before the band takes the stage (9:30-10pm). You'll have access to a robust library of board games, and attendees are welcome to bring their own games. There is no event fee. Instead we ask attendees to purchase beverages from the venue, Penny's Bar, conveniently located beside Lansdowne subway station at 1306 Bloor St. West. Of course, since they are offering us their space for free, please consider buying a drink if you can--possibly from our \*custom menu\*! We provide nametag stickers with a pronoun field; we want this to be a comfortable environment for everyone, kindly respect people's listed or stated pronouns. Welcome to the Sunday meetup for Toronto Heavy Boardgamers @ Face-to-Face Games! The purpose of this event is to meet up to play heavier / longer board games, and have fun while doing it! We will start off small and if there is sufficient interest we will add capacity for future events. **Scheduling details:** \- If you have a specific game that you would like to post for\, feel free to do so in comments\. It's an immersive adventure with a performer, a walking tour, scavenger hunt, and tour, with escape room-style puzzles! It's a one-of-a-kind experience! STARTING LOCATION: Meet at Victoria Memorial Square, 10 Niagara St., Toronto (cross-street is Portland). I've included a map below, in the Photos section. The Tour Guide will meet us across from Hounds of York. THE EXPERIENCE: Be prepared for some light walking (1 km total). The experience prioritizes story and puzzles, so this won't be an epic hike, but we will be walking at various times throughout the experience. Rain or shine, we make our escape! Keep an eye on the weather and dress for comfort accordingly. If you want to wear soccer gear, by all means! I may represent a football team of sorts heheh. ENDING LOCATION: The experience ends at Bathurst and Adelaide. This is noted on the map I've included in the Photos section, below, so you can see, it's not too far from the starting location. This experience has room for LOTS of people! So we'll likely all be together in one group - yayyy! \*\*IF THE EVENT APPEARS SOLD OUT, PLEASE JOIN THE WAITING LIST. IF I GET ENOUGH PEOPLE BY JULY 17TH, I'LL OPEN ANOTHER GROUP. That's their cut-off date to add another performer into the mix, so get your RSVPs in early, even if you're joining the waitlist! \*\*If we do two groups, both groups will start and end at the SAME PLACE, at the SAME TIME, and will have the SAME PUZZLES. Per tradition, we'll do optional coffee/drinks/dinner/dessert afterward if people want to hang out. Important details about the experience only: 1. We will book the spots for the escape room, so no planning needed! 2. This is a prepaid event, so you must pay the fee to join in. 3. Please arrive at the listed time. This is scheduled 15 mins ahead of the room time so that everyone can arrive, check in and sign waivers if applicable. 4. No shows or last minute cancellations after the booking has been paid for will not receive refunds due to the non-refundable nature of the escape room businesses. 5. If there is a cancellation/rescheduling of the event, you will receive refunds. 6. If you ever want to join an event but all of our rooms appear to be full/sold out, please message me.
