Metro from Central is 8AM. Train back to Central at the end takes 30 mins. **🦎About:** This is an easy summer walk. The route chosen has a lot of tree shade. Fast trains there & back too. Plenty of exit points but hoping you can go the whole way.😀 🦎**Route:** From Cherrybrook we cut through Cumberland State Forest to Bidjigal Reserve. That winds south towards Parramatta & we come out at Lake Parramatta. After checking out the heritage-listed man-made reservoir we street walk to the 200 year old St Patricks Cemetery. Then over the Parramatta River to the train station. 🦎**Distance:** 16km 🦎**Type of walk:** Bush and urban. Well worn tracks and footpath. Steps, rocky sections and mild hills. 🦎**Difficulty:** Easy/Moderate. If you are unsure about the distance but would like to test yourself, this is a walk for you: there are plenty of get-out points. Total elevation 265m. 🦎**Walking Pace:** We will maintain a steady pace all day and average 4-4.5 km per hour. 🦎**What to bring:** * Trailwalker shoes with good grip * 1 litre of water, refills along the route, optional hydralytes * Carbohydrate (starchy) snacks and lunch (or buy lunch at Parra) * Light rain jacket depending on conditions * Sunscreen and a cap or hat with a wide brim * Eagerness to explore 🦎**Gratuity:** There will be a $10 cash gratuity for this walk. We catch the 0930 ferry to Manly and grab a coffee before taking the Q Station bus from the Manly Visitor Information Centre up to North Head departing at 1040. When we arrive at the Quarantine Station, David will lead us on a historic tour of the facility. Lunch to be decided on the day, options for the cafe at Q Station or out in the open if the weather gods are happy. Bring food if you wish. As the day will be mainly outside, breathing in the fresh coastal air, dress for the weather and bring protection from the sun and water to drink. We will take the 1430 bus back to Manly or you may wish to linger a little longer. Today's theme, make it expressive or emotional. This series of night events will be a monthly meetup at various locations around Sydney. Nominally the second Thursday of the month but occasionally on a Friday night. The event will be held regardless of the weather. Location: Tonight we will walk around The Rocks and take more textural images during the evening walk for the bright lights of Sydney. Warning: take care when crossing George Street for light rail and traffic. Schedule: 1800 attendance checkin 1805 depart food hall, walk up Pitt Street Mall to King Street and turn left & walk to George Street.
