From San Francisco Movie Club
4.8

**We are hosting a Monthly Movie Discussion Happy Hour at the Flying Pig Bistro in the Mission every 3rd THURSDAY of the month!** Join us for an evening of movie talk with your fellow movie lovers. We'll start by forming groups where people will take turns sharing 1-2 quick movie reviews of what they've watched recently (no spoilers unless the group decides it's ok). After group sharing is done we'll mix and mingle for general discussion. Please come prepared to share at least one movie review with your group. The Flying Pig has a great selection of beverages (including non-alcoholic) as well as food for dinner or snacking. Please consider purchasing something to support the Flying Pig since we are not paying for the venue. Let me know if you have any questions!

Film: Bridget Jones's Diary (2001)

Film: Bridget Jones's Diary (2001)

Sat, Jun 20, 1:00 AM
From Women's Film Club for Introverts (30's & 40's)
5.0

**This month’s pick is Bridget Jones's Diary**. This is the movie that had me fully convinced Renée Zellweger was actually British for far too long. It also gave me the unrealistic but delightful expectation that I’d meet my own Mr. Darcy and that my 20s would be effortlessly glamorous… we can all dream, right? **\*This event will take place at my apartment in Hayes/Alamo Square. We'll be watching the film via my projector.** **Snacks and drinks will be provided (or bring a favorite to share!).**

Lionsgate invites us to a preview of the Hong Kong action movie "The Furious". See the synopsis below. **RSVP to this meetup event is not enough, you must RSVP through the following Google Form:** https://forms.gle/g6fkSosuxh9Z3XJ29 **If the form is closed all seats have already been taken.** Please note "Thrills & Chills" as the partner organization that invited you. Showtime is 7 pm - please be at the theater for check-in no later than 6.30 pm. The check-in table will be on the second floor of the theater, past the concessions. **No Show policy for preview screenings** I am tracking no-shows for our series of preview screenings since these prevent other group members who are interested from attending the show. Two-time Non-attendance or late dropout (less than 2 days before showtime) means you'll not be invited back for preview screenings. **The Furious** After the daughter of Wang Wei (Xie Miao) is kidnapped by a criminal network and he receives no help from the corrupt police, Wei sets out on a rampage to find her himself. His only ally is Navin (Joe Taslim) – a relentless journalist whose wife has mysteriously disappeared. Fueled by a furious vengeance, the unlikely duo ruthlessly fights against the kidnappers in this explosive martial arts showdown.
