Art Nest is a midweek creative reset for anyone who wants to spend a couple of hours creating, meeting like-minded people and unwinding. We get together at The Angry Dog, just a short walk from Southern Cross Station, for an evening of art, chats, snacks and good vibes. There’s a different theme each week to spark some ideas, but there’s no pressure to follow it. Bring your own ideas, experiment with the materials or see where the evening takes you. What's Included? 🎨 All art materials Everything you need to get creative, including paints, pastels, pencils, pens and more. 🥨 Snacks & treats A few snacks to keep you going while you create. 🖼️ A different creative theme every week A little inspiration to get you started, with plenty of room to make it your own. 🫶 A relaxed, social space Come with friends or come solo. Chat, create and meet new people in a laid-back setting. ✏️ Guided art support We’ll be around throughout the evening if you want a little help, inspiration or a second opinion. 💭 No artistic experience needed Art Nest is about enjoying the process, not creating a masterpiece. This is not another portfolio build. The aim is to teach you actual lighting techniques to elevate your photography to award winning levels over an intense 3 hours of creative lighting techniques. • Half hour group chat about finding your own creative style. Join us for a chill artsy afternoon, bring any art supplies you like 👩‍🎨🎨📝✨ Access to O3Space requires you to have the minimum ( FREE! ) membership that you sign up for when you download their app. Simply download the O3Space app, create a profile and use the QR code at the gate to enter/exit the building. The gate is located inside the tram on the right side of the cafe ☕️🚊 The free membership allows you in the building for up to 3 hours per week, if you go over they might charge you so make sure to use the QR code on your way out!! There is a timer countdown in the app so you know how long you have been there ⏰

Please bring your own materials. It’s a morning to create unhurriedly in the beautiful spring — to make, reflect, and simply be. Through art, we hope to create a gentle space for connection, encouragement, and shared presence. Whether you’re a writer, actor, animator, or independent filmmaker, come share your experiences, discuss current projects, or chat about favourite films. Inclusive Grief Circle: Honouring Loss Through Ceremony, Community & Creativity

Grief becomes problematic when the conditions needed to help us work with grief are absent.” - Francis Weller Our primary association with grief is the loss of a loved one but there are so many kinds of losses that don't have formal ceremonies that are important to honour. Unprocessed grief can accumulate in weight, dulling our senses and capacity for aliveness. This is a safe, supportive space for all shapes, sizes and textures of grief- for the loss of our loved ones, for the childhood we did not get to have, for the parts of ourselves that have been rejected and exiled, for friendships and relationships with ambiguous endings, for homes and communities we are distanced from and miss, for the suffering of the world and our fellow beings. This inclusive grief circle is also an advocacy for compassionate and attentive grief work, for reshaping our understanding of and relationship with grief. It is a holding space, a container, a time and a deep permission to acknowledge our emotions, our connections, the ways we have been touched and transformed, and our humanity. Mandala Symbolism: Personal Mandala Drawing Sessions

‘*Mandalas have been used as an aid to contemplation and meditation by various cultures all over the world for over five thousand years. The word ‘mandala’ comes from the Sanskrit word for ‘sacred or magic circle’ and represents symbolic drawing inside a circle.’* Georgina Fode Join Art Therapist and Theosophist Nina Mazurek on the first Thursday of each month for an hour of hands-on mandala work - a Melbourne Theosophical tradition first established by Georgina Fode. Within a safely held and respectful space, each attendee will be guided to create an oil crayon mandala at their own pace, in response to a chosen topic and preceded by a ‘remember who you are’ meditation. Each class will be a nurturing opportunity to explore our inner yearnings for wholeness and containment, that may help to propel self-healing and enable further understanding of the self. Drawing ability is not necessary. People with all levels of drawing skills, including those who think they can not draw at all, will benefit and progress through this work, producing mandalas with deep personal meaning; reflections of their inner journeys’ progress.
