Psychology Book Club: The Undiscovered Self by Carl Jung!

Psychology Book Club: The Undiscovered Self by Carl Jung!

Sat, Jun 20, 2:00 AM
From Torrance Psychology Book Club Meetup Group
4.7

We will be discussing **The Undiscovered Self by Carl Jung (it's a short book, so we'll do it at one go!)** at The Enclave, a cosy dining spot with an outdoor garden and lots of restaurants and coffee shops nearby (so you can eat/drink and converse at the same time). The goal of this monthly book club is to understand Jungian concepts + apply them to our own lives. This month's book is highly relevant to today's world, **as it discusses the deeply divided political atmosphere during the Cold War (sounds familiar?) and** **how understanding one's inner self can help prevent mass hysteria. The event is $10.** It's an in-person book club addition associated with my psychology youtube channel, Personality Story: https://www.youtube.com/@ToriH We are sitting in the outdoor seats (ideally, the large central table with heaters around or the chairs around the fireplace). In case of weather changes, we will also move indoors and inform you of the specific spot on the day of the event! You can follow my IG: tori_minz for the most updated info.

Book Club: The Night Ship by Jess Kid

Book Club: The Night Ship by Jess Kid

Sat, Jun 20, 8:00 PM
From The NovelTea Women's Book Club
4.9

*The Night Ship* by Jess Kidd is a historical fiction novel that interweaves two stories: that of Mayken, a young girl on the 17th-century Dutch ship Batavia, and Gil, a boy sent to live on a remote Australian island in 1989, whose lives become connected through the island and the ship's tragic history. The book explores themes of survival, loss, and connection, blending historical fact with magical realism, and is based on the real-life shipwreck of the Batavia. Looking forward to enjoying afternoon tea at the Callisto Tea House in Pasadena. The menu can be found here: [https://callistoteahouse.com/pages/menu](https://callistoteahouse.com/pages/menu) The event fee will secure your reservation and be applied to membership dues, which covers the cost of the website. The event fee is NONREFUNDABLE unless the event is canceled by the organizer. To join the waitlist comment on the event page. If you have RSVPed and can no longer attend, please contact me directly and I will contact the people on the waiting list and then move you to "not going" when I find a replacement. Thank you and happy reading!
