Hello peeps, welcome to the private meetup for board games in Berlin. Look forward to a relaxed boardgames event in a community centre. We will be playing inside the community centre. If you are looking for a group or games, just join us in the front. The entrance fee is 3 euros for the rent of the community centre rooms and cleanup of the rooms. We look to play in the Nachbarschaftszentrum „Bürger für Bürger“ near Bernauer Strasse U-Bahnhof. We usually play all types of games for example social deduction, casual, euro games, and strategy games. If you are new, is no worries, I will help you connect to a group. We start games every 15 mins so do not worry if you are late. We mostly play in the English language as it is the language most people are comfortable with. We usually bring games with us but you are welcome to bring your own. Due to corona rules in Berlin (for more info: https://www.berlin.de/corona/en/measures/), please make sure to follow the rules on the page. The meetup is strictly for a maximum of persons as stated in the meetup so please register on the meetup event before. Please follow the rules and hygiene concept from the community centre. Please do not bring outside drinks. Please smoke or gather in the night not outside the community centre as we look to be accomodating to the neighbours. Please update your RSVP if you can or can’t join, here or in their app. (No need to double rsvp) The "classical" bookswap is simple: * We meet in a café and put the book(s) we brought down on the tables. * We go around to browse and discuss the books with one another while sipping coffee or hot chocolate, or eating cake. * We write our names down on any books we’d like to take home (post-its and pens provided). * At the end of the evening, negotiate any books that are contended and take a new-to-you book home! Books/happiness shared are books/happiness multiplied! A Bookswap is 10 times better than a Book Club because you can talk about ALL the books instead of just one! This is a great way to give your books a new home and make room for new books: that book you feel guilty for not having read even though it's been sitting on your bedside table for the last 5 years, the book you liked but didn't love, the book you loved so much you want everyone to read it, the book you somehow own three copies of, that book you absolutely hated even though everyone else loves it, and so on. Moreover, you will meet fellow readers, get a new book or two, and several book recommendations. We’ve often had readers experience books they wouldn't normally buy and enjoy it. Maybe one of you reads it first and then gives it to the others. Or perhaps they have found another book instead. Or leave it to fate and toss a coin. The best part: now you have found somebody whose taste you can really admire. In any case, please don't walk away with a book with several names on it without letting the others know. These negotiations are fun and easy, so don't shy away from a book because there's already a name on it, and feel free to put your name on as many books as you find interesting. Normally we announce our talks here, but this time we are taking a short summer break and therefore invite you to a barbecue at the Spree. Hi! Welcome to Thought Experiments in Pubs... well, Park edition! Here you get to have deep conversations with people you've never met. The topic will be "Embodiment". I'll post questions that will guide us through the topic on the day, here as comment on this event. **Location:** [Volkspark Friedrichshain](https://maps.app.goo.gl/jpAu27WJXGgKB5wdA), near Märchenbrunnen **The idea:** A chance to meet and talk at a 'deeper' level, and skip the 'small talk'. **How will it work?** We will have a set of 'Thought Experiments', short, philosophical scenarios and questions, which will be discussed in groups. The conversation will flow freely, there are no strict rules, simply share and discuss your perspectives on the given topic. The thought experiments will be posted here ahead of the event. **Who should come?** Everyone! We believe that the more perspectives, the richer the conversation. This group is not about being experts in philosophy, it is about *doing* philosophy. That is, bringing our various life experiences and lenses on the world to group discussions about the human experience, the nature of reality... etc. **Do I need to bring anything?** No! Just an open, inquisitive mind. We will do 3 rounds of discussions. After the event, I would love to hear your feedback on the session. The thought experiments we will discuss are around the theme of the day. Prompts will be posted here on the day of the event. **Park edition** Feel free to bring picnic blankets, food and drinks, as you wish!
