Cybersecurity × AI: Berlin's Builders, Breakers & Backers #2

Cybersecurity × AI: Berlin's Builders, Breakers & Backers #2

Wed, Aug 26, 5:00 PM
From Startups.Berlin

AI has changed both sides of the security equation at once. Attackers are automating reconnaissance, phishing, and exploit development at a scale that didn't exist two years ago. Defenders are shipping agents that triage alerts, patch code, and hunt threats faster than any SOC team could. And an entirely new attack surface — the models themselves — is being built into products before anyone has agreed on how to secure it. Berlin has quietly become one of Europe's densest clusters of people working on exactly this problem: security founders, ML engineers, red teamers, CISOs, researchers, and the investors funding them. This meetup is an attempt to get them in one room. **⚠️ Attendance is limited and by application only** We're capping this event at **10 people**. The reason is deliberate: we'd rather have a room where everyone present is actually working in this space than a large room where most people are browsing. Smaller rooms mean better conversations and a much higher chance you meet the two or three people who matter for what you're building. To be considered, apply here: [https://luma.com/13bgbude](https://luma.com/13bgbude) The form takes about two minutes. We'll ask for: * Your name and where you work * What you're building, investing in, or researching * Your role (founder / engineer / security lead / investor / researcher / other) * What you're hoping to get out of the evening We review applications on a rolling basis and confirm attendees by email. Applying early genuinely helps — once we're at capacity we close the list. If you're not selected this time, you'll be first in line for the next one. **What to expect** * [2–3 short talks] from founders and practitioners building at the intersection — offensive AI, AI-native defense tooling, securing LLM applications, compliance under the EU AI Act * An open Q&A where hard questions are welcome * Long-form networking **Who we're looking for** Founders (pre-idea to Series B), security engineers and researchers, red teamers, CISOs and security leads, VCs and angels active in the space, and serious people looking to move into it.

Model Mondays - Spotlight On Model router in Microsoft Foundry

Model Mondays - Spotlight On Model router in Microsoft Foundry

Mon, Aug 24, 5:30 PM
From Microsoft Reactor Berlin Pop-Up
4.4

AI agents rarely rely on a single model to solve every task. In this episode of Model Mondays, we'll explore how model router helps developers apply a hill-climbing approach to agent development by continuously finding better models for different steps in a workflow. Learn how to evaluate models, compare performance across providers and model families, and dynamically route requests to the model best suited for each task. Through discussions and demos, we'll show how model router helps agents improve quality, efficiency, and cost by treating model selection as an ongoing optimization process rather than a one-time decision. *** * [Explore the Resources](https://github.com/microsoft/model-mondays) * [Read the Newsletter](https://aka.ms/model-mondays/newsletter) * [Continue the conversation on the Discord](https://aka.ms/model-mondays/discord)

Cello Gym: Technique, Sound, Shifting

Cello Gym: Technique, Sound, Shifting

Sun, Aug 30, 8:30 AM
From Berlin Cello Academy Cello Hangs

Join us for a monthly group cello workout that will improve your sound production, intonation, shifting, finger dexterity and speed - a true "full body" workout for cellists to want to make serious progress. Natasha Jaffe will guide you step by step through the core technical work that most cellists skip, rush, or avoid when practicing alone. This kind of work on scales, arpeggios, and double stops makes them easy to learn when you encounter them in your pieces, no matter the musical style you want to play. We’ll work on: * Scales and patterns for stable intonation and left-hand organization * Shifting across neck positions with more ease and accuracy * Bow and sound exercises for a clear, resonant tone * Etudes that help you master technique * Practical warmups you can reuse in your own practice Every monthly session will be a bit different, but some of the basics will repeat so that you can truly master them if you come regularly and practice them in between sessions, allowing you to move on to harder variations. The goal of the Cello Gym is to help you make sure that at least once a month, you go through the exercises perfectly, with good form, and get solutions for improving the ones you’re struggling with - and to re-inspire you to add this kind of practice into your own practice routine. Designed for intermediate to advanced cellists - minimum requirement is a basic knowledge of shifting (for example to 2nd or 4th position). Sheets are available to download in advance here: [https://berlincelloacademy.com/cello-gym](https://berlincelloacademy.com/cello-gym) If you want more challenge, just let me know a bit in advance and I can make the workout a bit harder for you individually!
